WATCH: Whitney Houston On AS THE WORLD TURNS (1984)

Whitney Houston appeared on AS THE WORLD TURNS on August 1-2, 1984, with Jermaine Jackson singing two duets off a new album he was releasing at the time including "Nobody Loves Me Like You Do." They taped their appearance on July 25 at CBS Studios in New York City. In the episodes, Marcy (Marisa Tomei) was crowned the grand prize winner of the Cinderella Sweepstakes by Oakdale newspaper The Argus.

CBS was trying to counter-program the Olympics on ABC by airing these episodes which also featured Phyllis Diller as Marcy's Fairy Godmother.

"It's definitely an opportunity to keep our viewers loyal while enticing new audiences," CBS director of daytime programming Laurence Caso said at the time.

Check out the "Nobody Loves Me Like You Do" performance below. In the storyline, Betsy (Meg Ryan at the time, now played by Lindsay Frost) had written the lyrics to the song and gave them to Steve (Frank Runyeon) on their wedding day.

PREVIEW: GLEE Pays Tribute To Whitney Houston on Tuesday in "Dance With Somebody"

The glee club pays homage to a true icon when they cover Whitney Houston's greatest hits on a new episode of GLEE, "Dance With Somebody," airing Tuesday, April 24 (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET/PT) on FOX.

Meanwhile, Emma and Will are one step closer to their dream wedding.

PREVIEW: FOX's Tuesday Night Soap GLEE Dedicated To Whitney Houston

The Year of the Soap continues on Tuesday, February 14 on GLEE at at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FOX.

In "Heart," Mr. Schuester challenges New Directions to find and perform the world's greatest love songs on Valentine's Day. Meanwhile, Rachel's two dads, Hiram and LeRoy Berry, pay a visit to McKinley High.

Love takes center stage at McKinley High as Valentine's Day approaches. While Mr. Schuester's weekly assignment to find and perform the world's greatest love songs has some of the Gleeks celebrating romance, for others it serves as a disheartening reminder of what they don't have.

Whitney Houston Dead at 48

We Love Soaps is extremely saddened to learn of the death of Grammy Winning Talent Whitney  Houston (1963-2012).  Ms. Houston's voice and legacy will have an emotional and spiritual effect on generations to come.  The tragedy of her death will be mourned around the world for years. 

Her publicist, Kristen Foster, confirmed Houston's passing Saturday just hours before the singer was expected to perform at Clive Davis's annual pre-Grammy party at the Beverly Hilton.
