"I've wanted to do another soap cruise since late 2008 following the 'Farewell To Passions Cruise,'" said Ms. Bernhardt. "With the resurgence of canceled soaps, spike in daytime ratings and the birth of what is becoming a huge online indie soap presence, starring many current and former soap stars, I felt the timing was perfect. Partnering with my friends and colleagues from We Love Soaps was the missing piece of the puzzle – now we're ready to begin rolling out this incredible opportunity!”

The new venture has plans to produce two or three theme based Soap Fan Cruises per year, with the first cruise already booked for late January 2014 aboard Carnival Cruise Lines. Pop-singer, Broadway actor and SMASH guest star Nick Jonas took the stage at the 27th Annual AIDS Walk New York in Central Park yesterday, where he was joined by Vincent Kartheiser (MAD MEN), Nick Adams ("Priscilla Queen of the Desert"), Audra McDonald (PRIVATE PRACTICE), Michael Urie (UGLY BETTY), Carolee Carmello ("Sister Act"), singer Keri Hilson, Barrett Foa (NCIS), David Hyde Pierce (FRASIER), fashion designer Jason Wu, Gay Men’s Health Crisis director Dr. Marjorie Hill, talk show host Wendy Williams and more than 45,000 other New Yorkers who walked to raise funds for GMHC and other AIDS charities. This year, walkers raised a grand total of $6,084,822 (and counting).

WE LOVE SOAPS TV 3.39 Ben Monk On Playing ALL MY CHILDREN's Kevin Sheffield & His Career From Calvin Klein To Today

Love Out Loud VII, an annual event sponsored by We Love Soaps and Poz magazine, was held on Wednesday, May 16 at Prohibition in New York City. It's an AIDS Walk NY fundraiser: the hosts, the sponsors, and (this is truly wonderful) the celebrities are all donated their time to the cause! In the latest episode of our web series, WE LOVE SOAPS TV, we talked with former ALL MY CHILDREN and AS THE WORLD TURNS actor Ben Monk (formerly credited as Ben Jorgensen) backstage at Love Out Loud.

Monk shared professional highlights such as the coming out storyline of AMC's gay teen Kevin Sheffield, starring in Calvin Klein's Obsession ad as a child, and his successful career as an editor and filmmaker. Monk was recently bit by the acting bug again and he provided an update on that as well.

Athlete and actor Mark Dobies is one of those rare men who is just about as comfortable in a triathlon or on the gridiron as he is on the Broadway stage. Daytime fans will probably know him best from his characters on GUIDING LIGHT and ONE LIFE TO LIVE, but he's also appeared in prime time series like GOSSIP GIRL, FRINGE and CSI: MIAMI. Gregory had been unemployed for seven months--but he persevered, until one day, he was invited to read for OLTL Executive Producer Frank Valentini. He wasn't even home yet from the audition when he got a call from the show, welcoming him on board him as the "sexy cad," Robert Ford.

PHOTOS: DAYTIME DRAMA Kick-Off Event!

We Love Soaps kicked off our inaguaral DAYTIME DRAMA event at Pieces bar in New York City on Thursday afternoon. DAYTIME DRAMA is a monthly happy hour event where we watch soaps (daytime, primetime, web series), have cheap drinks and share thoughts on the genre and our favorite storylines.

The first event was well-received and some of our favorite folks from the world of web series stopped by including Greg Turner and Brian Hewson from EMPIRE, Jason Vitteri-Lewis from TRAILER MADE, and Julie Ann Emery and Kevin Earley from THEN WE GOT HELP! Emery brought along HELP's fabulous guest star Sam McMurray (FREAKS & GEEKS, FRIENDS, Raising Arizona).

Clips included classic soap weddings, startling courtroom revelations, famous guest stars and much more. We also played a few web series -- THEN WE GOT HELP!, TRAILER MADE and IMAGINARY BITCHES. A great time was had by all!
