Vincent Irizarry Leaving 'Days of our Lives' as Deimos

Vincent Irizarry plays Deimos on Days of our Lives, but for how much longer?
According to a Soap Central report, Vincent Irizarry is out as Deimos Kiriakis on NBC soap opera Days of our Lives. The actor, who first aired in January 2016, has reportedly wrapped his run, which means he will last air sometime this summer.

Irizarry was enthuastic when he began his Days run.

"I honestly couldn't be happier to be working with such wonderfully gifted people, all of whom who have been so warm and welcoming," he posted on Facebook in 2015. "I'm equally thrilled to be playing a character I've already loved playing these past weeks, with scripts that have been so wonderful, I'm excited each time I open a new one to find out what the writers have in store for me next, and alongside actors I have so much respect for. What a true, absolute pleasure it's all been!!!"

Days has not made an official comment on Irizarry's departure.

Now that ABC has the rights to All My Children once again, it's not out of the realm of possibility that Irizarry could reprise his role as AMC's Dr. David Hayward on General Hospital.

Binge-Viewing Gives Composers New Headaches
With shifting viewing habits and binge-viewing erasing the traditional pacing of episodes, some composers are forced to take an unusually long-view approach to their work, as the distinctions between scoring for film and scoring for TV become fewer by the week.

BREAKING BAD Creator Vince Gilligan on Why Binge-Watching Saved His Show
No matter how addictive the show may be, you can’t get people hooked on something they won’t sample, and getting viewers to try a new show isn’t easy. Luckily, in the case of Breaking Bad it came along at a time when TV fans were just becoming accustomed to all-you-can-eat viewing thanks to services like Netflix, iTunes and – later – Amazon Instant. It was those services that, according to BREAKING BAD creator Vince Gilligan, allowed fans to catch up on his acclaimed AMC show and join it in later seasons.

ALL MY CHILDREN's Vincent Irizarry Speaks Out On AMC/OLTL Episode Cuts

Vincent Irizarry, who plays Dr. David Hayward on ALL MY CHILDREN, posted a lengthy statement on Facebook offering his insight into Prospect Park's decision to reduce the number of new ALL MY CHILDREN and ONE LIFE TO LIVE episodes from four to two per week and highlighting what he sees as the positives behind this development.
Greetings to you all from “Pine Valley!” In fact, I just returned the other night from a very successful 5 weeks of shooting "All My Children" in Connecticut, getting my life back on track on the home front since, but I've been wanting to address many of your comments/questions re: the news that AMC/OLTL is now going to be airing on Hulu and iTunes twice a week each, rather than the 4 times per week previously airing. First, I'd like to emphasize the positives that don't seem to be getting enough attention since this news had been reported, which very much deserves mentioning. Our show was number one in viewing during the 1st week of airing on both Hulu and iTunes, while maintaining an extremely strong showing within the top 5 each week since! That's news definitely worth celebrating, due in greater part to all of our dear, loyal viewers who have been watching faithfully since their return. So please accept our sincere collective thanks to you all, apart from whom we never could have accomplished any of this.
