Tyler Perry Signs Multi-Year Content Partnership with Viacom

Viacom Inc. announced on Friday it has entered into a comprehensive, multi-year content partnership with the award-winning writer, director, producer, actor and playwright Tyler Perry, encompassing television, film and short-form video.

Under the terms of the agreement, Perry will produce approximately 90 episodes annually of original drama and comedy series for BET and other Viacom networks, and Viacom will have exclusive licensing rights on this programming. In addition, Viacom will have exclusive distribution rights to Perry's short-form video content, and Paramount Pictures will have exclusive "first look" rights on any new feature film concepts created by Perry.

The film agreement is effective immediately, with the partnership on Perry's TV and short-form video content to go into effect in May 2019, following the expiration of Perry's exclusive agreement with OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network. Viacom's agreement will extend through 2024.

'The Haves and the Have Nots' Sneak Peek: Waiting on Candace

The season premiere of OWN's hit primetime soap opera The Haves and the Have Nots delivered 3 million total viewers and a 2.52 W25-54 rating last week. The episode was Tuesday night's #1 cable telecast for women, the #1 show on all television for African-American viewers and was the #1 most social show across all broadcast, cable and syndication and across all dayparts.

Additionally, OWN was Tuesday night's #1 cable network for women and the #1 network on television across all key African-American demos.

In tonight's new episode, "Waiting on Candace," Katheryn lashes out at Veronica while Benny holds out hope that Candace will come through for the family. Watch a sneak peek below.



The Haves and the Have Nots follows the tangled lives of the wealthy Cryer and Harrington families and the poor Young family. This season, the drama continues to heat up as Hanna (Crystal R. Fox), the moral conscience, is tested like never before. Hanna and her son, Benny, (Tyler Lepley) are stripped of everything they have once Candace's (Tika Sumpter) latest hustle fails miserably.

New episodes of The Haves and the Have Nots air Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

'The Haves and the Have Nots' Returns with New Episodes Starting January 3

Tyler Perry's hit drama series The Haves and the Have Nots returns for Season Four with all-new episodes on Tuesday, January 3 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network.

The Haves and the Have Nots continues to heat up as Hanna (Crystal. R Fox), the moral conscience, is tested like never before. Hanna and her son, Benny, (Tyler Lepley) are stripped of everything they have once Candace's (Tika Sumpter) latest hustle fails miserably. In the premiere episode, Veronica (Angela Robinson) is stunned after Katheryn (Renee Lawless) lashes out in anger.

Tyler Perry's 'Too Close to Home' Coming to TLC, Cast Includes Heather Locklear, Matt Battaglia, Kelly Sullivan

TLC started production with Tyler Perry Studios on the network's first scripted series Too Close to Home, written, directed and produced by Tyler Perry. Production began this week in Atlanta at Tyler Perry Studios new studio lot located on the former Fort McPherson army base. The eight-part drama tells the story of a young woman who escaped her working class upbringing to discover unparalleled success in the fast-paced D.C. political circuit. Too Close to Home is slated to premiere later this summer.

Danielle Savre will star as the lead Anna while Heather Locklear and Matt Battaglia join the cast as guest stars. Cast in other leading roles are Brock O'Hurn, Kelly Sullivan (ex-Sage, The Young and the Restless; ex-Connie, General Hospital), Brad Benedict and Brooke Anne Smith.

Series regulars include Alpha Trivette, Trisha Rae Stahl, Robert Craighead, Annie Thrash, and Curran Walters. Recurring cast members are Ashley Love-Mills, Nick Ballard, Charles Justo, Christian Ochoa, and Justin Gabriel.

"Tyler Perry has proven time and time again that his characters are at the crux of great storytelling. Too Close to Home is yet another example of that, and we know our viewers will be enthralled with how this story unfolds."

The story follows Anna, a young woman who escaped her working class upbringing in Alabama to start fresh in Washington, D.C. After making national headlines in a major political scandal involving one of the nation's most powerful players, she is forced to return to her roots and face a past she thought she left behind. Seeking help and forgiveness from the same people she abandoned for a "better" life, Anna finds herself right back where she worked so hard to escape... Too Close to Home.

'The Haves and the Have Nots' Returns January 5

Tyler Perry's hit primetime soap opera The Haves and the Have Nots is back with all-new episodes on Tuesday, January 5 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on OWN.

The Haves and the Have Nots returns with Jim Cryer (John Schneider), his wife Katheryn (Renee Lawless) and their wealthy friends, David (Peter Parros) and Veronica Harrington (Angela Robinson), dealing with hard lessons they have sewed from past actions. Jim Cryer is rendered powerless for the first time in his life as the charges against him mount. Candace (Tika Sumpter) is haunted by a horrific crime that she and Jeffery (Gavin Houston) have committed and will stop at nothing to cover up the secret. Meanwhile, Hanna (Crystal Fox) continues to be a moral pillar for her family and co-workers.

'The Haves and the Have Nots' Season Finale Sneak Peek: Benny Is Out For Blood

Benny is out for blood on the HAHN season finale.
Things are about to boil over in Savannah on the edge-of-your-seat season finale of Tyler Perry's The Haves and the Have Nots airs Tuesday, March 24 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on OWN.

When Benny (Tyler Lepley) discovers that Quincy (Medina Islam) laid hands on Hanna (Crystal R. Fox), even she can't stop him from hunting down the dangerous criminal. Elsewhere, Jeffery (Gavin Houston) and Candace (Tika Sumpter) uncover Melissa's (Antoinette Robertson) ulterior motives, and Jim gets real with Wyatt (Aaron O'Connell).

Meanwhile, Veronica (Angela Robinson)—who's positive David is planning to run away with his campaign manager—loses her temper at a hotel bar.

THE HAVES AND THE HAVE NOTS Returns January 7

Oprah Winfrey Network announced today that its popular scripted series from Tyler Perry THE HAVES AND THE HAVE NOTS and LOVE THY NEIGHBOR will return to the network's primetime lineup this January.

THE HAVES AND THE HAVE NOTS heats up this winter after its cliffhanger fall finale garnered a series high 2.6 million viewers, making it one of the most watched episodes in network history. On Tuesday, January 7 (9-10 p.m. ET) the Cryer family is back with even more scandals, lies and deceit as judge Jim Cryer (John Schneider) mounts a campaign for governor despite escalating family problems and the vengeful actions of his former mistress Candace Young (Tika Sumpter).

Perry’s comedy LOVE THY NEIGHBOR, which garnered a series average 1 million viewers, returns to the primetime lineup on Wednesday, January 8 with two half-hour episodes back-to-back at 9 and 9:30 p.m. and features even more hilarious hijinks from Mama Hattie (Patrice Lovely) and the gang at The Love Train Diner.

Record High 2.6 Million Viewers Tune in for THE HAVES AND THE HAVE NOTS Fall Finale on OWN

A record 2.6 million viewers tuned in for the fall finale of Tyler Perry's THE HAVES AND THE HAVE NOTS Tuesday, September 3 (9 p.m.) on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network making it the #1 telecast in series history across all key measures.

The series has grown for eight consecutive weeks in the key female demo, propelling the finale episode to score its highest rating of the season with a 2.21 women 25-54 rating, delivering +40% growth women 25-54 and +44% growth in total viewers versus the season average (1.58 W25-54, 1.8 million total viewers). Additionally, the episode built in every quarter hour, posting double-digit growth (+12%) over the course of the 9 p.m. hour in the key women 25-54 demo.

New episodes of THE HAVES AND THE HAVE NOTS will return in January 2014.

In the episode, "No More Hiding," secrets are revealed when Jeffery (Gavin Houston) finally confesses to his parents that he's gay.

Meanwhile, Hanna unintentionally tells Benny that Tony is his father, and Candace (Tika Sumpter) informs Amanda that her parents have been keeping her inheritance from her.

OWN Orders Four Additional Episodes Of Tyler Perry's THE HAVES AND THE HAVE NOTS

OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network announced today that it has ordered an additional four episodes of the Tyler Perry primetime soap opera THE HAVES AND THE HAVE NOTS.

This is on top of the 16 additional episodes ordered in June. This brings the total order for THE HAVES AND THE HAVE NOTS to 36 episodes for its first season.

The series continues to break ratings records each week with its most recent broadcast on Tuesday, August 20 scoring its highest rated episode to-date in the network's key demo of women 25-54 (1.76 rating).

Tyler Perry's THE HAVES AND THE HAVE NOTS Scores Third Consecutive Week of Record Highs

OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network's original series, Tyler Perry's THE HAVES AND THE HAVE NOTS, scored its third consecutive week of record highs as the Tuesday, August 13 episode (9-10 p.m.) delivered 2.1 million total viewers, making it the most watched episode of the season.

For the fifth week in a row, the series ranked #2 in the time period on all of cable in the key female demo (1.67 W25-54) and Tuesday night's #3 cable telecast for the third week in a row in the key female demo. The series is averaging 1.48 W25-54 and 1.7 million total viewers.

OWN Doubles Episode Order for Tyler Perry's THE HAVES AND THE HAVE NOTS

OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network announced today that it has ordered an additional 16 episodes of the network's popular drama series from Tyler Perry THE HAVES AND THE HAVE NOTS (Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET) bringing the total season order to 32 episodes.

The show's current cycle will air through September 3 with the new episodes premiering in early 2014.

OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network has scored its highest rated week in network history (Week of May 27) across the key demos in total day led by the premiere of Tyler Perry's new soap opera THE HAVES AND THE HAVE NOTS (Tuesdays at 9 p.m.) and LOVE THY NEIGHBOR (Wednesdays at 9 p.m.). In addition, OWN ranked #12 for the week among all ad-supported cable networks for women 25-54 and ranked as the #2 network in all of television for the week for African American W25-54 in primetime.
