Jon Lindstrom Talks 'True Detective' on 'Home & Family' (Video)

Jon Lindstrom was a guest on the Monday, July 13 episode of Hallmark Channel's Home & Family.

Lindstrom has starred in a number of soap operas over the years including General Hospital, As the World Turns, Port Charles, Santa Barbara and Rituals. He is currently playing Jacob McCandless on the second season of HBO's True Detective, with a cast headed by Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn.

"Vince is great, Vince is an amazing guy. He's known for doing very broad studio comedies. I'm known for doing soaps," Lindstrom said, when asked about his co-star. "He's best known for the kind of funny guy, but he's an actor, and he's a very deep and talented one."

Tony Stark Subs for Jon Lindstrom on 'General Hospital'

The role of Dr. Kevin Collins on ABC daytime drama General Hospital had a new face on Wednesday's episode. After Jake (Billy Miller) bailed on his session with Kevin (played by Tony Stark), Carly (Laura Wright) learned Jake had never met with Kevin before.

Jon Lindstrom, who has played the role on and off on both GH and spin-off series Port Charles, was unavailable on the day of the shoot because he was working on the second season of HBO's True Detective.

'Days of our Lives' and 'General Hospital' Receive Writers Guide Award Nominations


The nominees for the 2015 Writers Guild Awards were announced on Thursday in the TV, New Media and Radio categories. ABC's General Hospital and NBC's Days of our Lives were nominated in the Daytime Drama category.

TRUE DETECTIVE, Starring Woody Harrelson and Matthew Mcconaughey, Debuts January 12 (January Spoilers)

1995: Detectives Martin Hart and Rust Cohle, partners in Louisiana's Criminal Investigation Division, are assigned to a macabre murder by a killer with disturbing occult leanings. As they attempt to uncover the secrets of this bizarre crime, their own lives collide and intertwine in unexpected, sometimes catastrophic ways.

2012: When a similar case leads to an investigation of the original '95 murder by two new detectives, Martin and Rust separately tell the story of both the investigation and their lives, including why Cohle left CID in 2002.

Shot on location in Louisiana, the drama series TRUE DETECTIVE begins its eight-episode season Sunday, January 12 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT), exclusively on HBO. Matthew McConaughey stars as Rust Cohle and Woody Harrelson stars as Martin Hart in the show, which also stars Michelle Monaghan as Hart's wife, Maggie, who struggles to keep her family together as the men in her life spiral into cycles of obsession and violence.

HBO Confirms January Debut Dates for Series LOOKING, TRUE DETECTIVE, GIRLS

The debut dates for the new HBO series TRUE DETECTIVE and LOOKING, and the third season of GIRLS, have been confirmed.

TRUE DETECTIVE debuts Sunday, January 12 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT) on HBO. The series stars Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson as Louisiana detectives Rust Cohle and Martin Hart, whose lives collide and entwine during a 17-year hunt for a killer, ranging from the original investigation of a bizarre murder in 1995 to the reopening of the case in 2012. Michelle Monaghan also stars as Hart's wife, Maggie, who struggles to keep her family together as the men in her life become locked in a cycle of violence and obsession. Written by Nic Pizzolatto and directed by Cary Fukunaga, who are executive producers along with Steve Golin and Scott Stephens.
