Trent Dawson Reunites 'As the World Turns' Cast for 'The F' Benefit

In 2017 an original play written by As the World Turns alum Trent Dawson, "The F," was produced at Manhatten Rep. in New York City. The play struck a chord with theatre-goers and is now being made into a film.

"The F" follows a real-time argument between Josh and Amanda. In this dark comedy, a New York subway platform becomes the stage for two lovers to battle about the truth: Did he or didn’t he? Who’s perception is real and who is delusional? A strange commuter seems to have the answers to their problems, but will either of them listen to her?

Dawson brought together a number of his former ATWT co-stars to perform "The F" live on stage at a benefit for the film on Friday, June 22. (Click here to support "The F" via the film's GoFundMe page.)

Check out more photos below from the benefit, which included Dawson (ATWT's Henry Coleman), Martha Byrne (Lily Walsh Snyder), Austin Peck (Brad Synder), Terri Conn (Katie Peretti Snyder), Anne Sayre (Mitzi Matters) and Eric Sheffer Stevens (Dr. Reid Oliver).

Trent Dawson Joins 'General Hospital' as Huxley

ABC/Rick Rowell)
As the World Turns fan favorite Trent Dawson has been cast as Huxley on ABC soap opera General Hospital.

Dawson, who played Henry Coleman on ATWT for the show's final 11 years, will be reuniting him with former co-stars Maura West (Ava; ex-Carly ATWT), Jon Lindstrom (Kevin; ex-Craig ATWT,) Lynn Herring (Lucy; ex-Audrey ATWT), and Roger Howarth (Franco; ex-Paul ATWT).

Dawson tells Soap Opera Digest, Huxley is "a heightened character and very British--that's the way I'm playing him so far and no one's told me to stop!"

Although Huxley is scheduled to be a short-term role, Dawson says he would love to continue with the popular show.

"Henry was supposed to be on for a weeks and he went on for years, so you never know," he says.

Dawson first airs on June 13.

Watch the Premiere of 'Weight,' a New Dramedy from Daryn Strauss Starring Martha Byrne

Martha Byrne sparkles in Weight as Claire, a weight loss reality
competition contestant who faces new complications after returning
home 100 pounds lighter.
Weight, the new dramedy from Writers Guild Award nominee Daryn Strauss, has finally made its much-anticipated online debut. Emmy and Indie Series Award winner Martha Byrne (As the World Turns) stars as Claire, a suburban mom who returns home from a reality weight loss show 100 pounds lighter but finds she's gained some extra baggage due to the complicated reactions of her dysfunctional family and friends.

Like all great comedies, Weight doesn't rely on only the obvious or easy jokes. The show manages to be consistently funny, with hilarious one-liners and priceless reaction shots, and thought-provoking at the same time. Claire became the "ideal" size on The Weigh Off but life hasn't suddenly become perfect. In fact, her new size added a number of new complexities to her life: her children rejecting her, a changed dynamic in the relationship with her "thin" sister, and a lack of sex with her husband, who points out her chest is now smaller.

"Of course we missed ya," Claire's husband says when she reunites with her family after three months. "In fact, we're missing most of you right now."

Executive produced by Strauss and Byrne, and directed by Frederick King Keller, the all-star production team includes Anne Clements, Steve Silverman, Maitely Weismann, and Dorothy Fucito.

The entire cast is pitch perfect including Allison Smith (The West Wing, Kate & Allie), Peyton Ella, Kate West (daughter of General Hospital star Maura West and ATWT alum Scott DeFreitas), with guest appearances by Trent Dawson (As the World Turns), Indie Series Award winner Dee Freeman (Pretty) and Maitely Weismann (Masters of Sex).

'Weight' To Premiere Online August 2nd, Stars 'As the World Turns' Alum Martha Byrne

Weight, the outrageously funny new comedy series about life after extreme reality TV weight loss from internet phenom and Writers Guild Award nominee Daryn Strauss and starring three-time Emmy Winner Martha Byrne, will premiere its first episode on Sunday, August 2 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT at weighttheseries.com.

Viewers can join the "Virtual Release Party" with Byrne, cast, and special guests by using the hashtag #weightcrazy on Twitter and by following @weighttheseries, starting at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on August 2nd.

Weight follows Claire, a middle class mom (played by Byrne) who returns home from a reality weight loss competition 100 pounds lighter but finds she’s gained some extra baggage due to the complicated reactions of her dysfunctional family and friends. Byrne, a mother of three, has first-hand experience dealing with the expectations of Hollywood and the absurdities of life on camera, making Claire's struggles balancing mommyhood and reality show fame/infamy believable, funny, and relatable.

Soap fans saw hints of Byrne's comedic skills over the years, especially with her portrayal of Rose D'Angelo of As the World Turns, but she is masterful in Weight, a revelation, in fact, if someone can be a revelation after more than three decades on television. She delivers every brilliant line written by Daryn Strauss absolutely perfectly. Sometimes a partnership just works, and the pairing on Strauss and Byrne makes for comedy gold.

NEWS: Dylan Bruce, Randy Mantooth, Bradley Cooper, Bernie Sanders, Trent Dawson, John Aniston, Farah Fath

'Twin Peaks' Will Return With 18 Episodes, Angelo Badalamenti Composing All New Music
During the Twin Peaks panel at Crypticon in Seattle, Sherilyn Fenn and Sheryl Lee revealed two big pieces of news: there will be eighteen new episodes of Twin Peaks, all directed by David Lynch, and his longtime collaborator Angelo Badalamenti would be composing all new music. Yep, we'll take a slice of cherry pie to go with that. This effectively doubles the nine episodes that were announced when the Showtime deal was first revealed, and suggests this will be more than just your standard waltz through the past.

Dylan Bruce Joins NBC’s 'Heroes Reborn'
On the heels of the shocker involving his character on Orphan Black, Dylan Bruce (ex-Chris, As the World Turns) has been tapped for a recurring role in NBC’s upcoming event series Heroes Reborn.

Randy Mantooth of 'Emergency!' and 'Loving' Looks Back and Forges Ahead
"I'm in the middle of a normal routine of being on the road talking to firefighters and paramedics. I have also been writing screenplays and I will probably be doing a play at Jeff Daniels' Purple Rose Theater here in New York sometime next year."

Eleven entertainers made Forbes’ 2015 list of The World’s Most Powerful Women, with Oprah Winfrey leading the pack at #12. The television titan is this year’s “top ranking billionaire,” with a net worth of $3 billion.

'As the World Turns' alum Trent Dawson set to star in Harold Pinter's 'The Homecoming'
"The Homecoming" comes to Los Angeles for the first time in over a decade from May 30 - July 26.

Set in 1960's North London, Teddy (Dawson, who played Henry on ATWT) returns home to introduce his wife of six years to the family: his father Max, a retired butcher; his Uncle Sam, a chauffeur; his younger brother Lenny, who appears to be a pimp; and his youngest brother Joey, a boxer who works in demolition. But things don't go exactly as planned...

Bradley Cooper was ‘nervous’ for early on-screen kiss
About his beginning days, he told Page Six: “My earliest screen test was for All My Children or One Life To Live or whatever they called Kelly Ripa’s soap opera.

“Who knows what they tried to turn me into? I remember most they kept blow-drying my hair. I was maybe 25. My action was kissing a girl. Ohhh, I was so nervous.”

Sen. Bernie Sanders officially launches campaign for President of the United States
"Politics in a Democratic society should not be treated as if it were a baseball game, a game show or a soap opera," Sanders said.

Jennifer Aniston: Shut Your Trap, Dad!
Jennifer Aniston's father John Aniston (Victor, Days of our Lives) told a family dinner, including Jen: “If it wasn’t for me, Jenny wouldn’t have a movie career today!”

Confides my Aniston insider: “Jen exploded, screaming, ‘You think I owe you my career because you did a favor to someone and gave me one lousy script? Let it go – stop taking credit!’ Then she stormed out as John hung his head!”

For the record, the story’s TRUE – John did give Jen a script written in the mid-’90s by a fellow Days actress, which got made into big-screen rom-com Picture Perfect, Jen’s breakout movie role.

“John’s proud he helped her to movie stardom,” said the source, “but she’s had it with him throwing it in her face. She called Daddy next day and made him vow to NEVER take credit again. John reluctantly agreed.”

Jean Slater returning to 'EastEnders'
Gillian Wright, who played Stacey Slater's mother Jean for eight years before quitting the BBC One soap in 2013, is set to reprise her role for her character's upcoming wedding to boyfriend Ollie Walters.

The 'Coronation Street' script for Deirdre Barlow's funeral is 'really magnificent'
Writer and producer Stuart Blackburn said that he has seen the scripts for the upcoming episodes and was very pleased with what he saw.

“The scripts are magnificent, really magnificent and yes, it’s kind of upsetting experience for all of us for obvious reasons but I think it’s a really fitting tribute to Deirdre,” Stuart said at a recent Coronation Street press conference.

Actress Anne Kirkbride, who played the long-standing character for 42 years, died in January from cancer. Stuart said that her family had been consulted closely on the storyline.

It was revealed earlier this week that Dierdre will be haunt the Rovers Return pub and other Coronation Street residents after they learn of her sudden death.

Newlyweds Steven and Michelle will get a fright when the doors of the Rover Return bust open suddenly as they are talking about her.

WE LOVE SOAPS TV 3.40 Trent Dawson On His Role In 'Men In Black III' Opposite Emma Thompson

Love Out Loud VII, an annual event sponsored by We Love Soaps and Poz magazine, was held on Wednesday, May 16 at Prohibition in New York City. It's an AIDS Walk NY fundraiser: the hosts, the sponsors, and (this is truly wonderful) the celebrities are all donated their time to the cause! In the latest episode of our web series, WE LOVE SOAPS TV, we talked with former AS THE WORLD TURNS star Trent Dawson who played Henry Coleman for the show's final eleven years.

Dawson broke the news that his scenes in Men In Black III were with Emma Thompson.

"I'll break this story with you, I had absolutely stage fright with her," he shared. "I got dry-mouthed and couldn't speak. With the special effects crew, they'll make me look good and interesting in some kind of way."
