ISA NOMINEE SPOTLIGHT: TRAILER MADE

As we count down to the 3rd Annual Indie Soap Awards on Feb. 21, we will feature the shows nominated for Best Web Series, Comedy and Drama.

Up next is Best Web Series (Comedy) nominee, TRAILER MADE, created by Jason Vitteri-Lewis. The show centers around the dysfunctional relationships and never-ending drama among a wild group of trailer park housewives:

Tapioca (played by ISA nominee Laura Thomas), the sex-crazed ex-beauty queen, forced to care for her bedridden, impotent husband; Mamaw, the silver-tongued pot-dealin' granny, strugglin' with bills and a pair of mis-sized breast implants; Chrystal, a twenty-nine year old mother, who realizes that a rare form of narcolepsy has left her with eleven children; Prudence, widow of Reverend Meriwether, whose tax frauds leave her penny-less and fraught until a conversation with God gives her purpose again; Loretta, the sauced and sassy trailer park manager, who rules her roost with an iron fist full of Coors Light; Guadalupe, a Mexican telenovela actress posing as the girls' galpal Mary Lou, who is supposedly returning from an extensive plastic surgery makeover.

PHOTOS: DAYTIME DRAMA Kick-Off Event!

We Love Soaps kicked off our inaguaral DAYTIME DRAMA event at Pieces bar in New York City on Thursday afternoon. DAYTIME DRAMA is a monthly happy hour event where we watch soaps (daytime, primetime, web series), have cheap drinks and share thoughts on the genre and our favorite storylines.

The first event was well-received and some of our favorite folks from the world of web series stopped by including Greg Turner and Brian Hewson from EMPIRE, Jason Vitteri-Lewis from TRAILER MADE, and Julie Ann Emery and Kevin Earley from THEN WE GOT HELP! Emery brought along HELP's fabulous guest star Sam McMurray (FREAKS & GEEKS, FRIENDS, Raising Arizona).

Clips included classic soap weddings, startling courtroom revelations, famous guest stars and much more. We also played a few web series -- THEN WE GOT HELP!, TRAILER MADE and IMAGINARY BITCHES. A great time was had by all!

See below for more photos from DAYTIME DRAMA.

REVIEW: SEX AND THE CITY meets Jerry Springer on TRAILER MADE

Web Series: TRAILER MADE

For fans of...: SEX AND THE CITY; SORDID LIVES; THE JERRY SPRINGER SHOW; John Waters

What it is: Follow a gaggle of Southern girls as they liven-up their trailer park with parties, misadventures, and gossip.

What's good: Good job squeezing as much comedic juice out of each character without (quite) resorting to caricature. Objectively, these women are really rather awful, and yet somehow, we sorta want to be their friends.
