PREVIEW: A New Leaf on 'The Haves and the Have Nots'

'The Haves and the Have Nots' Season 4 Premieres June 20

All new episodes of Tyler Perry's The Haves and the Have Nots start on Tuesday, June 20 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on OWN. According to the network teaser, the drama escalates to epic proportions when the primetime soap opera returns.

In Tuesday's new episode, "The Fallout From War," Hanna's family is once again pushed to their limits after Warlock unleashes his vengeance.

'The Haves and the Have Nots' Sneak Peek: Waiting on Candace

The season premiere of OWN's hit primetime soap opera The Haves and the Have Nots delivered 3 million total viewers and a 2.52 W25-54 rating last week. The episode was Tuesday night's #1 cable telecast for women, the #1 show on all television for African-American viewers and was the #1 most social show across all broadcast, cable and syndication and across all dayparts.

Additionally, OWN was Tuesday night's #1 cable network for women and the #1 network on television across all key African-American demos.

In tonight's new episode, "Waiting on Candace," Katheryn lashes out at Veronica while Benny holds out hope that Candace will come through for the family. Watch a sneak peek below.



The Haves and the Have Nots follows the tangled lives of the wealthy Cryer and Harrington families and the poor Young family. This season, the drama continues to heat up as Hanna (Crystal R. The Haves and the Have Nots continues to heat up as Hanna (Crystal. R Fox), the moral conscience, is tested like never before. Hanna and her son, Benny, (Tyler Lepley) are stripped of everything they have once Candace's (Tika Sumpter) latest hustle fails miserably. In the premiere episode, Veronica (Angela Robinson) is stunned after Katheryn (Renee Lawless) lashes out in anger.

'One Life to Live' Alum Tika Sumpter Welcomes Baby Girl

Daytime alum Tika Sumpter tweeted in reference to some life-changing news on Monday.

The former One Life to Live (Layla Williamson) fan fave gave birth on October 8 to a baby girl, Ella Loren, according to EW.com.

In announcing her exciting news, Sumpter also acknowledged the awesome responsibility of raising a child.

"Dear Mom's, dad's and caretakers, I'm slow clapping for each and every one of you. It ain't no joke," she wrote.

Sumpter originated the role of Laya on the now-defunct ABC soap in 2005 and continued playing it until 2010. She arrived in town to join her sister, Evangeline Williamson, Llanview’s Assistant District Attorney. Her character was involved in several romances, most notably with Cristian Vega. She also found herself in the middle of several front-burner storylines, including the decision to take her comatose sister off life-support.

Sumpter garnered an NAACP Image Award nomination for Best Actress in a Daytime Drama Series for her work as Layla Williamson in 2008.

Sumpter was born in New York City. She began modeling a year before her big break as Layla on OLTL. Since then she has racked up numerous film and television credits, including that of Candace Young in the OWN's The Haves and the Have Nots. She also starred in and produced the film Southside With You.

Akbi Khan has been a soap mega-fan for 31 years. She has been writing about them and working to save the soap genre for several years. Last May she got her Master’s in rhetoric and composition, for which she completed a thesis on the Save Our Soaps (SOS) movement and created her own SOS group, thistimeitsforever.org. 'The Haves and the Have Nots' Returns on June 21 For Summer Season

Tyler Perry drama The Haves and the Have Nots, starring John Schneider and One Life to Live alum Tika Sumpter, returns for its new summer season on Tuesday, June 21 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network, followed by the series premiere of Greenleaf at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

In the new season of the hit soapy drama, the hunt is in full swing as Candace Young (Tika Sumpter), Jim Cryer (John Schneider), David Harrington (Peter Parros), Veronica Harrington (Angela Robinson), Katheryn Cryer (Renee Lawless) and Jeffery Harrington (Gavin Houston), are all on the run for the heinous crimes they have committed. The Haves and the Have Nots returns with Jim Cryer (John Schneider), his wife Katheryn (Renee Lawless) and their wealthy friends, David (Peter Parros) and Veronica Harrington (Angela Robinson), dealing with hard lessons they have sewed from past actions. Jim Cryer is rendered powerless for the first time in his life as the charges against him mount. Candace (Tika Sumpter) is haunted by a horrific crime that she and Jeffery (Gavin Houston) have committed and will stop at nothing to cover up the secret. 'The Haves and the Have Nots' and 'If Loving You is Wrong' Lead OWN to Most-Watched Night in Network History

The season premiere of If Loving You is Wrong drew 2.9 million viewers.
OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network broke records Tuesday night with the season finale of its primetime soap The Haves and the Have Nots and the season premiere of If Loving You is Wrong, both from Tyler Perry. The season finale of The Haves and the Have Nots delivered 3.7 million total viewers and a 3.1 rating W25-54, while the season premiere of If Loving You is Wrong delivered 2.9 million total viewers and 2.6 rating W25-54.

HAHN was Tuesday night’s #1 cable telecast for W25-54 and total viewers and the most watched telecast in OWN history. The season premiere of ILYIW at 10 p.m. ranked #1 in the time period across all cable in all key demos.

'The Haves and the Have Nots' Hightlights: Jeffery's Baby & Katheryn's Revenge

On this week's episode of OWN primetime soap opera The Haves and the Have Nots, Amanda was laid to rest amid the controversy surrounding Wyatt's confession. Meanwhile, Melissa (Antoinette Robertson) revealed to Jeffery (Gavin Houston) and Candace (Tika Sumpter) that she was pregnant, and the baby was Jeffery's.

Melissa explained that her father was dying of cancer. To pay for his medical treatments and hospital bills, her family borrowed half a million dollars from Jeffery's mother, Veronica, then Veronica forced Melissa to seduce Jeffery. Melissa's family now risks losing everything unless they do exactly what Veronica said—and what she wanted was for Melissa and Jeffery to have a baby together and get married.

'The Haves and the Have Nots' Season Premiere Sets OWN Ratings Record

The Season 3 premiere of The Haves and the Have Nots on OWN set a new network record with 3.3 million total viewers – the most-watched season premiere in Oprah Winfrey Network history.

The Tuesday, June 30 premiere was also the highest-rated telecast in series history among the network’s core W25-54 demo (2.80 rating).

The episode was the highest-rated Tuesday night cable telecast in 2015 to date among W25-54. Additionally, the premiere ranked as the night's #1 cable telecast among W25-54 and W18-49, making OWN the night’s #1 cable network among W25-54 and W18-49.

In the premiere, an angry Veronica (Angela Robinson) started a fire that destroyed the mansion and almost claimed David's (Peter Parros) life. Meanwhile, Jeffery (Gavin Houston) and Landon (Kristian Kordula) woke up in bed together, but Jeffery eventually admitted that he was in love with someone else—but his crush is straight and not interested in him. Later, Wyatt (Aaron O'Connell) showed up and Landon figured out that Wyatt was the object of Jeffery's affection.

'The Haves and the Have Nots' Season Finale Sneak Peek: Benny Is Out For Blood

Things are about to boil over in Savannah on the edge-of-your-seat season finale of Tyler Perry's The Haves and the Have Nots airs Tuesday, March 24 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on OWN.

When Benny (Tyler Lepley) discovers that Quincy (Medina Islam) laid hands on Hanna (Crystal R. Fox), even she can't stop him from hunting down the dangerous criminal. Elsewhere, Jeffery (Gavin Houston) and Candace (Tika Sumpter) uncover Melissa's (Antoinette Robertson) ulterior motives, and Jim gets real with Wyatt (Aaron O'Connell).

Meanwhile, Veronica (Angela Robinson)—who's positive David is planning to run away with his campaign manager—loses her temper at a hotel bar.

'The Haves and the Have Nots' Season 2 Begins May 27

OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network's popular primetime soap opera The Haves and the Have Nots will return with all-new episodes on Tuesday, May 27 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

The Tyler Perry drama left off with the shocking abduction of Jim Cryer's (John Schneider) mistress, Candace (Tika Sumpter), who is jeopardizing his campaign for governor with her manipulative games. Meanwhile, Jim's son Wyatt (Aaron O'Connell) is finally arrested for a hit and run that caused the death of a young girl. Additionally, Benny (Tyler Lepley), who remains in a coma, is secretly moved into a private hospital by Katheryn (Renee Lawless), who is also working to get his mother Hanna (Crystal Fox) out of jail. Lastly, the Cryers' daughter Amanda (Jaclyn Betham) moves closer to insanity, after stalking and stabbing her abusive professor.

3.4 Million Viewers Watched THE HAVES AND THE HAVE NOTS This Week

Tuesday night's (February 4) episode of OWN's hit Tyler Perry drama THE HAVES AND THE HAVE NOTS delivered a record-breaking 3.4 million viewers, its most-watched telecast in series history. The episode ranked as the #1 cable telecast of the night (2.60 W25-54 rating and 3.4 million total viewers) and #2 in all of television among W25-54 rating (behind THE BIGGEST LOSER season finale). OWN was Tuesday night's #1 cable network for W25-54.

In addition, the episode was the second highest telecast in OWN history (W25-54 and total viewers) and the show marked its third consecutive week of growth in W25-54 (up +16% vs. last week). The season two average is up double digits (+44%) vs. season one.

The serial drama follows Savannah's wealthy Cryer family, headed by judge Jim Cryer (John Schneider) and his scorned wife Katheryn (Renee Lawless), whose lives have become intimately and inextricably linked with the families of their hired help.

In "Unanswered Calls," Candace confronts Jim and gets more than she bargained for. Then, with nowhere else to turn, Wyatt makes a terrible confession to Jeffery. Plus, the Cryers' dark secret gets one step closer to being exposed.

THE HAVES AND THE HAVE NOTS Posts Record 2.8 Million Total Viewers Tuesday Night on OWN

OWN’s Tuesday night episode of the Tyler Perry drama THE HAVES AND THE HAVE NOTS (January 21 at 9 p.m. ET/PT) set a series record, earning 2.84 million total viewers. The third episode of the second season continues to grow, up +2% in total viewers over the season premiere (1/7/14) and posting double-digit growth versus last week’s episode up +11% total viewers (1/14/14).

In the key female demo W25-54, the Tuesday night episode ranked as the #1 cable telecast in the time period and #3 cable telecast for the night. The episode ranks as the #3 telecast in OWN history among total viewers, behind only OPRAH'S NEXT CHAPTER with Bobbi Kristina (3/11/12) and OPRAH'S NEXT CHAPTER with Lance Armstrong (1/17/13).

Record 2.8 Million Viewers Tune-In for Season Two Premiere of OWN's THE HAVES AND THE HAVE NOTS

OWN's season two premiere of the Tyler Perry soap opera THE HAVES AND THE HAVE NOTS on Tuesday night (January 7 at 9 p.m. ET/PT) delivered record numbers, earning 2.8 million total viewers and becoming the #1 season premiere in OWN history across all key demos. The episode ranked as the highest telecast in series history, posting double-digit growth in W25-54 (up +59%) and total viewers (up +57%) versus the season one premiere (May 28, 2013). It also saw double- digit growth versus the prior season average, up +58% in W25-54 and +53% in total viewers and was up +13% in W25-54 and +7% in total viewers versus the fall finale (September 3, 2013).

The episode was also the #2 telecast in OWN history among W25-54 (2.49 rating, 1.1 million), behind OPRAH'S NEXT CHAPTER with Bobbi Kristina Houston (March 11, 2012), and the #3 telecast in OWN history among total viewers, behind OPRAH'S NEXT CHAPTER with Bobbi Kristina Houston and OPRAH'S NEXT CHAPTER Lance Armstrong Pt. 1 (January 17, 2013).

THE HAVES AND THE HAVE NOTS returns with brand new episodes starting Tuesday, January 7 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on OWN. The serial drama follows Savannah's wealthy Cryer family, headed by judge Jim Cryer (John Schneider) and his scorned wife Katheryn (Renee Lawless), whose lives have become intimately and inextricably linked with the families of their hired help.

As the new season unfolds, Jim Cryer mounts a campaign for governor despite escalating family problems and the vengeful actions of his former-mistress Candace Young (Tika Sumpter). Jim’s wife despises him; his son Wyatt’s (Aaron O'Connell) heroin addiction leads to a terrible crime; and his daughter Amanda (Jaclyn Betham) sinks into a world of mental delusion.
