'Good Trouble' to Premiere January 8 on Freeform

Freeform announced today that Good Trouble, the highly anticipated spin-off of the groundbreaking family drama The Fosters, will premiere on Tuesday, January 8, 2019. The pilot, executive produced and directed by Jon M. Chu (Crazy Rich Asians), follows Callie (Maia Mitchell) and Mariana (Cierra Ramirez) as they embark on the next phase of their young adult lives in Los Angeles, as Mariana tackles the male-dominated world of tech and Callie faces the harsh realities of the federal legal system clerking for a federal judge.

After moving to The Coterie in Downtown Los Angeles, Callie and Mariana realize that living on their own is not all that it's cracked up to be. Faced with new neighbors, new challenges and, of course, new romances, the sisters must depend on one another to navigate the City of Angels.

'The Fosters' Spin-off 'Good Trouble' Currently in Production

Freeform began production in June on Good Trouble, the spinoff to the critically acclaimed drama The Fosters, in Los Angeles. The series, which was announced earlier this year, will follow Callie (Maia Mitchell) and Mariana (Cierra Ramirez) as they embark on the next phase of their young adult lives in Los Angeles.

Joining Maia Mitchell and Cierra Ramirez as series regulars are fellow neighbors at The Coterie apartment complex: Tommy Martinez (Riverdale) who will portray Gael, a socially conscious and politically active graphic designer; newcomer Zuri Adele who will portray Malika, a whip-smart former foster kid with a pension for social justice; and Sherry Cola (I Love Dick) who will portray Alice, a first-generation Asian American who manages the apartment complex. Roger Bart (Desperate Housewives) will portray conservative Judge Wilson for whom Callie is clerking.

Rounding out the cast are Emma Hunton (Happy Endings), who will portray Davia, a no holds barred teacher who also lives at The Coterie, and Ken Kirby (The Gay and Wondrous Life of Caleb Gallo), who will portray Benjamin, a conservative fellow clerk who works with Callie.

Freeform Summer Lineup Includes 'Shadowhunters,' 'Stitchers,' 'The Fosters' and 'The Bold Type'

Freeform has announced its summer lineup schedule including the series premiere of the new original series "The Bold Type" and the return of "Shadowhunters," "Stitchers" and "The Fosters."

"Shadowhunters" returns for the second half of season two with Shadowhunters and Downworlders reeling from what happened at the New York Institute in the winter finale. As the rift between the two sides grows larger, the team and their Downworld friends and lovers are put in the middle of the dangerous divide. Torn between the Clave's rules and what they feel is right, Clary, Jace, Alec and Isabelle struggle to help forge a new beginning. Relationships will be tested, a new Shadowhunter named Sebastian will join the fray and the Seelie Queen will step out of the shadows in the summer season. "Shadowhunters" is produced by Constantin Film and executive produced by Todd Slavkin, Darren Swimmer, McG, Michael Reisz, Matt Hastings, Mary Viola, Martin Moszkowicz and Robert Kulzer. The series stars Katherine McNamara, Dominic Sherwood, Alberto Rosende, Emeraude Toubia, Matthew Daddario, Isaiah Mustafa and Harry Shum Jr. "Shadowhunters" midseason premiere will be MONDAY, JUNE 5, at 8:00 p.m. EDT.

'Switched at Birth' and 'The Fosters' Return on January 31

The final season of Switched at Birth premieres January 31.
Freeform has announced winter premiere dates for The Fosters and Switched at Birth. These series join previously announced January premieres for Shadowhunters and Beyond.

Critically acclaimed family drama The Fosters returns with new episodes on Tuesday, January 31 at 8 p.m. ET. As the fourth season of "The Fosters" continues, the show picks up from the summer cliffhanger finale that left several family members in peril. The series stars Teri Polo, Sherri Saum, Hayden Byerly, Noah Centineo, David Lambert, Maia Mitchell, Danny Nucci and Cierra Ramirez.

The fifth and final season of Switched at Birth, premieres on Tuesday, January 31 at 9 p.m. EST. The Peabody Award-winning family drama explores blended families and deaf culture, with an array of deaf and hard-of-hearing actors, and includes scenes shot entirely in American Sign Language (ASL). A groundbreaking all-ASL episode aired in March 2013. The final season will include the topical issue of campus race relations -- culminating with an episode told from the perspective of several African-American characters -- and the milestone 100th episode of the series. Switched at Birth stars Katie Leclerc, Vanessa Marano, Constance Marie, D.W. Moffett, Lea Thompson and Lucas Grabeel with guest stars Sean Berdy and Marlee Matlin.

'The Fosters' Sneak Peek: Callie and Jude Discover Jack's Abuse

Callie and Jude discover Jack is being abused in his group foster home, on an all-new episode of The Fosters, airing Monday, February 15 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Freeform.

In the episode, titled "Under Water," after Callie and Jude discover Jack is being abused by other boys in his group foster home, they turn to foster care advocate Justina (special guest star Kelli Williams, The Practice) to get him help. Jesus attempts to get to know Gabe at work even as Nick urges him to tell Gabe the truth about who he is. Meanwhile, Mariana is surprised when Nick asks her out.

Corbin Bleu to Guest Star in 'The Fosters' Musical Episode

One Life to Live alum Corbin Bleu is set to guest star on a March episode of ABC Family (soon to be Freeform) drama The Fosters, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He will appear in the upcoming musical-within-the-show.

Bleu will play Mercutio, who appears in Brandon's (David Lambert) Romeo and Juliet musical, which serves as his senior project. Alongside Bleu will be Garrett Clayton, who will reprise his role as Chase Dillon, who also gets a role in the production. Adding to the drama will be Brandon's ex-girlfriend and ex-bandmate Lou Chan, played by returning recurring actress Ashley Argota.

The musical episode will air in March and be directed by series co-creator and executive producer Bradley Bredeweg, who produced the recent Hollywood production of "Romeo & Juliet: Love Is a Battlefield" that starred Bleu and Argota.

Bleu's real life father, David Reivers, appears on the current season of The Fosters as Brandon's boss. Reivers has played Bleu's fictional dad in the Disney Channel Original Movie Jump In!, High School Musical 3: Senior Year and Free Style.

Bleu played Jeffrey King on One Life to Live in 2013. Early this year in Dayton, he played the son of As the World Turns star Colleen Zenk in Michael Slade's new play, "Family Shots."

ABC Family Winter Schedule Revealed: 'Recovery Road' Premieres January 25 After 'The Fosters'

New scripted drama Recovery Road and fan favorite The Fosters will premiere on January 25, 2016. These series join previously announced January premieres for Pretty Little Liars and Shadowhunters, and February premieres for Young & Hungry and Baby Daddy. ABC Family will become Freeform in January 2016.

The critically-acclaimed family drama The Fosters returns with new episodes on Monday, January 25 at 8 pm ET/PT. As the third season continues, the family settles into a new dynamic now that Callie is permanently adopted. Callie and Brandon share a significant secret, but focus on their interests to help them move on with their lives. A serious medical issue for Stef results in a clash of opinion between her wife Lena and her mother, Sharon. Jude must deal with his boyfriend's decision to move away, while Jesus and Mariana are surprised when an old friend returns. Loyalties are questioned while new relationships develop, and family ties bring love and support amid the chaos of life. The series stars Teri Polo, Sherri Saum, Hayden Byerly, Noah Centineo, David Lambert, Maia Mitchell, Danny Nucci, and Cierra Ramirez. Guest stars this season include Rosie O'Donnell, Annie Potts, Rob Morrow, and Kelli Williams.

Recovery Road premieres that night at 9:00 pm ET/PT. Based on the popular young adult novel by Blake Nelson, Recovery Road focuses on a teenage girl dealing with addiction. Maddie has a reputation as a party girl who doesn't think she has a problem, until she's confronted one day by her school guidance counselor and is forced to choose between expulsion and rehab. Maddie makes the difficult decision to live with other recovering addicts at a sober living facility while facing the daily pressures of her teenage life. Recovery Road stars Jessica Sula, Alexis Carra, Sebastian De Souza, Daniel Franzese, Sharon Leal, Kyla Pratt, and David Witts.

FOX's primetime soap Empire has been named Program of the Year by the Television Critics Association. The TCA handed out its 31st annual awards at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles Saturday night, in a ceremony hosted by James Corden, host of CBS' The Late Late Show.

Jude surprises Callie with a 17th birthday party in an all-new episode of The Fosters, airing Monday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC Family.

In "It's My Party," Callie (Maia Mitchell) thinks she's celebrating her 17th birthday with just the family, but Jude (Hayden Byerly) surprises her with a house party. 'The Fosters' Winter Premiere Sneak Peek

The Winter premiere of The Fosters airs Monday, January 19 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC Family. Picking up from the cliffhanger finale, Callie is left in a tailspin when the Quinns demonstrate a sincere interest in having her be part of their family.

The episode, titled “Over/Under,” was written by Bradley Bredeweg & Peter Paige and directed by Peter Paige.

As Callie tries to wrap her head around Robert’s change-of-heart, an ambulance shows up at the Quinn’s house. Stef and Lena find themselves on opposite sides of several issues, including Lena’s sudden decision to quit her job. Brandon is offered an opportunity to attend a prestigious summer music program. Mariana struggles when her dance team leader changes the lineup the day before the competition.

Meanwhile, Jesus secretly attends Ana’s AA meeting and is shocked by what he hears.

'The Fosters' Hits Near Five-Month Ratings Highs

With Season Highs, The Fosters posted its fourth consecutive week of increases in Adults 18-34, Adults 18-49 and Women 18-49 on Monday night, hitting near 5-Month highs in the demos. The show also scored a season high in Total Viewers. Here's what ABC Family had to say about the Monday ratings:

The Fosters (9:00 - 10:00 p.m.)

At 9 o'clock, The Fosters posted season highs across Total Viewers (1.6 million), Adults 18-34 (504,000/0.7 rating), Women 18-34 (436,000/1.3 rating), Adults 18-49 (830,000/0.7 rating), Women 18-49 (668,000/1.0 rating), Viewers 12-34 (841,000/0.9 rating) and Females 12-34 (752,000/1.6 rating).

In fact, the series generated its 4th-consecutive week of gains among Adults 18-34, Adults 18-49 and Women 18-49 to post its best ratings in virtually 5 months - since 2/17/14, 2/10/14 and 2/10/14, respectively.

· At 9 o'clock, The Fosters ranked as Monday's #2 cable TV telecast in Women 18-34 and Females 12-34 and was the #2 scripted cable TV telecast in Adults 18-34.

· Based on L+3 ratings season to date, The Fosters surges to 2.4 million Total Viewers, 1.2 million Adults 18-49 and 1.3 million Viewers 12-34.

'The Fosters' Preview: Say Something

Callie makes an important decision to address the hold-up in her adoption face on, but Jude may be more affected by her choice than he lets show. in a new episode of The Fosters, airing Monday, July 7 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC Family.

Things heat up between Callie and Wyatt, but Callie realizes she may not be emotionally ready to take the next step. Lena vies for the Principal’s job at Anchor Beach, which causes some friction in her already rocky relationship with Timothy. When the dance team holds auditions for a new member, Mariana questions why she was chosen to join the team, and she doesn't like the answer.

'The Fosters' Season 2 Premiere Preview

In the second season premiere of ABC Family's acclaimed original drama series The Fosters, some will face the consequences of their past mistakes while others will fight fiercely to ensure a more promising future for their growing family. The season premieres Monday, June 16 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC Family.

In the episode titled "Things Unknown," it's a big day for Callie as her future with the Fosters hinges on the revelation that Donald is not her birth father. What happens next could threaten to separate Callie and Jude once again. Brandon struggles to recover and come to terms with his guilt over sleeping with Dani, and big questions still remain about what Mike was up to the night Ana disappeared. Meanwhile, Jesus and Emma’s relationship impacts Emma’s standing with her teammates, which causes tension between them. Mariana has made a big change, much to Stef's dismay.
