Thursday Night Ratings: THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, PARENTHOOD, SCANDAL Up

The fast national overnight ratings are in for Thursday, October 17. Check out a roundup of ratings reports below:

From The CW:
Last night, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES beat both ABC and NBC in the hour in A18-34, W18-34, and A18-49.

It was TVD's most watched episode (2.84M) since February (2/21/13), and its best A18-49 rating since March (3/21).

Week to week, TVD was up 33% in total viewers, 18% in A18-34 (1.3/5), 30% in A18-49 and 6% in W18-34 (1.8/6).

The series premiere of REIGN gave The CW its second best performance in the Thursday 9-10pm time period in a year in total viewers (2M), W18-34 (1.0/3) and A18-49 (0.8/2) (10/11/12, the series premiere of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, which aired opposite the Vice Presidential Debate on the other broadcast networks), and since Nov. 2012 in A18-34 (0.7/2), behind only the special airing of THE ORIGINALS in the time period.

Thursday Night Ratings: SCANDAL Premieres With Series Highs In Total Viewers and Adults 18-49

ABC’s Scandal opened its 3rd season at series highs in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49. Check out a roundup of ratings reports below for Thursday, October 3rd.

ABC Thursday Prime (8-11 p.m. – 8.5 million and 2.8/8 in AD18-49): Featuring a SCANDAL recap special, GREY'S ANATOMY and the 3rd season premiere of SCANDAL (opened at series highs), ABC ran neck-and-neck with CBS’ all-original lineup for #1 Adults 18-49 (2.8/8 vs. 2.9/9), while defeating originals on Fox by 56% (1.8/5) and on NBC by 75% (1.6/5). The Net was up 8% over the year-ago night in Adults 18-49 (2.6/7 on 10/4/12), delivering its strongest non-sports Thursday since the beginning of November – since 11/01/12.

Thursday Night Ratings: THE CRAZY ONES Premieres Big; GLEE, PARENTHOOD & GREY'S ANATOMY Have Lowest Rated Premieres Ever

CBS claimed a huge victory as the Thursday overnight Nielsen ratings came in. Check out a roundup of reports below.

From CBS:
THE CRAZY ONES, featuring the return of Robin Williams to network television, premiered to 15.61 million viewers, making it the season's #1 new program, according to Nielsen preliminary live plus same day ratings for Thursday, Sept. 26.

The series premiere of THE CRAZY ONES was first in viewers (15.61m), adults 25-54 (5.4/13) and adults 18-49 (4.0/11). CBS posted its best adults 25-54 delivery in the 9:00-9:30 time slot since March 12, 2009 and its best adults 18-49 delivery since Nov. 12, 2009.
