Syfy's "31 Days of Halloween" Includes Movies Starring Amber Benson, Connor Paolo

The Crooked Man premieres October 1 on Syfy.
The scare is everywhere during Syfy's "31 Days of Halloween." All October, the network will unleash a mix of spooky Syfy originals and nightmare-inducing horror movies, in a cross-platform celebration of the most wickedly wonderful time of the year.

"31 Days of Halloween" highlights include the premiere of Syfy's original anthology series Channel Zero: Candle Cove, on Tuesday, October 11 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Based on a popular "creepypasta" story shared on the internet, viewers will want to keep their nightlights on for this chilling tale. The spook-a-thon also features the Syfy movie premieres of horror favorites Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Zombieland, The Strangers, Cabin in the Woods, Wrong Turn, Maleficent, I, Frankenstein and Drag Me to Hell. Additionally, audiences will discover new scares with five original Syfy fright films airing Saturday nights, including The Crooked Man, Stake Land 2 and The Night Before Halloween. New episodes of Van Helsing, Aftermath and Z Nation will also continue to air throughout the month.

Singing a nursery rhyme summons a demonic figure known as Crooked Man. Once you sing the rhyme, everyone in the house is cursed to die by his hands.

Syfy's '12 Monkeys' to Commence Series Production in Toronto, Tom Noonan & Emily Hampshire Will Recur

Syfy's adventure thriller, 12 Monkeys will commence series production August 6 in Toronto, Canada. The season, consisting of 13 episodes, stars Aaron Stanford (as time-traveler Cole), Amanda Schull (Dr. Cassandra Railly), Kirk Acevedo (Ramse) and Noah Bean (Aaron Marker).

Syfy also confirms additional casting, inking Tom Noonan (Damages, Hell on Wheels) and Emily Hampshire (Rookie Blue) for recurring roles.

Noonan portrays a mysterious villain who is the face of the enigmatic Army of the 12 Monkeys. Imposing and intelligent, Noonan's character will be at the center of the conspiracy. A Yale alumnus and former professor, Noonan is known for his edgy roles, most notably as the "Tooth Fairy" serial killer in the popular Michael Mann film, Manhunter. Noonan is represented by Vanguard Management and AKA Talent Agency.

Thomas Jane Will Star in 'The Expanse,' New 10-Episode Space Opera

Syfy and Alcon TV have announced that three-time Golden Globe nominee Thomas Jane (Hung, The Punisher) will star as the world-weary Detective Miller, a native of "the Asteroid Belt" between Mars and Jupiter, in The Expanse, the new 10-episode space opera based on the international best-selling book series, premiering on Syfy in 2015.

Miller portrays a detective for a corporate security force operating as the law in The Belt. Ragged, in search of something even he can't identify, Miller remains a dedicated cop with great instincts who discovers a newfound sense of purpose when he's put in charge of the investigation into a missing heiress.

Jane received three Golden Globe nominations for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy for Hung. Jane is the lead of three studio movies being released this year: The Veil for Universal Pictures and Blumhouse, Somnia for Relativity Media, and Vice for Lionsgate and Emmett/Furla/Oasis. He also stars in the History mini-series Texas Rising, which is currently in production

'Alphas' Star Laura Mennell Joins 'Haven'

Syfy's fan-favorite series Haven will get a new resident when Laura Mennell (Alphas, The Watchmen) joins the cast in a recurring role playing Dr. Erin Reid, a brilliant and beautiful epidemiologist from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) who fears the town of Haven is on the verge of a deadly viral outbreak. Filming for the series' 26-episode fifth season is currently underway on location in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Dr. Erin Reid is a worldly scientist whose focus is investigating the diseases that plague mankind. She's a force to be reckoned with, as Audrey Parker (Emily Rose), Nathan Wuornos (Lucas Bryant) and Duke Crocker (Eric Balfour) quickly discover. Meanwhile, Dwight Hendrickson (Adam Copeland) works overtime to keep the troubles hidden from Erin. But, when she unknowingly uncovers a genetic marker found only in Troubled people, the residents of Haven realize her discovery could lead to a scientific cure for the Troubles that plague the town.

'Warehouse 13' Series Finale Preview

The fifth and final season of Syfy's Warehouse 13 wraps up on Monday, May 19 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

In the series finale, the team learn that Warehouse 13 will be moving to a new location country and are asked by Mrs. Frederic to contribute to a time capsule, which they do after reliving the moment that defined their relationship to the top-secret storage facility for supernatural artifacts.

Syfy Releases Trailers for 'Dominion' & 'Ascension'

Syfy has released trailers for its upcoming scripted series Dominion and Ascension.

Based on characters from the hit theatrical film Legion (2010), Dominion is an epic supernatural drama set in a transformed post-apocalyptic future, 25 years after an army of lower angels, assembled by the archangel Gabriel, waged a war of possession against mankind. Dominion, produced by Universal Cable Productions and Bold Films, is in production in Cape Town, South Africa. The series is executive produced by Vaun Wilmott, Todd Slavkin & Darren Swimmer, along with Executive Producers Scott Stewart, who co-wrote and directed the feature film Legion, Michael Litvak and David Lancaster of Bold Films who produced the original film.

'Warehouse 13' Preview: Kelly Tries to Save Her Grandmother, Who is Trapped in a Telenovela

The fifth season of Syfy's Warehouse 13 continues with a new episode ("Savage Seduction") on Monday, May 5 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Pete (Eddie McClintock), Myka (Joanne Kelly) and Artie (Saul Rubinek) try to help Pete's ex-girlfriend, Kelly Hernandez (Paula Garces), when her grandmother gets trapped inside a telenovela, but things go awry when they all end up as characters in the soap opera. Meanwhile, a strange accident at a university leads Claudia (Allison Scagliotti) and Steve (Steve Jinks) to discover an artifact that literally duplicates its users.

Linda Hamilton to Guest Star on Season Two of Syfy's DEFIANCE

Linda Hamilton joins the season two cast of Syfy's drama series, DEFIANCE, in the recurring guest role of Pilar, the mysterious and long-separated wife of Rafe McCawley (Graham Greene). Premiering its second season on Thursday, June 19 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, the ambitious series delivered an average of 1.5 million viewers 18-49 and 3.2 million total viewers in its first season, based on Live +7 data.

Hamilton will play the key recurring role of Pilar McCawley, the wife of Rafe McCawley (Graham Greene) and mother to their three children. Separated from her family for a number of years, Pilar has now returned home. Pilar suffered from serious mental illness and in the aftermath of the Votan arrival and subsequent war, did not have access to her medication. With her mental state unchecked, Pilar snapped and tried to murder her children. Fearing for the family's safety, Rafe sent her to an institution and told their children she had died. Now Pilar is back with both a steely resolve and a warm, maternal love for her family. But the motives for her return are unclear, and soon Rafe and others in town begin to question where she's actually been these past years.

Syfy Announces All-New Zombie Series Z NATION

Syfy today announced Z NATION, a 13-episode zombie series set to debut in the fall. From production company The Asylum (Sharknado), the action-horror series depicts the epic struggle to save humanity after a zombie apocalypse. The series, which will air on Syfy, will be produced by The Asylum and sold internationally by Dynamic Television.

Karl Schaefer will serve as executive producer and showrunner. "Z NATION will take viewers where no zombie has gone before," says Schaefer. The show, he continues, adds "a sense of hope to the horror of the apocalypse - our everyday heroes take the fight to the zombies. It'll be an epic journey unlike anything you've seen before."

'Big Ass Spider!' Premieres on Syfy April 19, Stars Greg Grunberg, Ray Wise, Clare Kramer, Lin Shaye and Lombardo Boyar

Look out, Los Angeles - one big ass spider is coming your way. Continuing its tradition of presenting cult classic movies, Syfy will premiere Big Ass Spider! on Saturday, April 19 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

In Big Ass Spider!, starring Greg Grunberg (HEROES), a giant alien spider escapes from a military lab and terrorizes Los Angeles. When a massive military strike fails, it is up to a team of scientists - and one clever exterminator - to kill the creature before the city is destroyed. The movie also stars Ray Wise (THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS), Clare Kramer, Lin Shaye and Lombardo Boyar. The movie is a production of Epic Pictures.

Syfy Gives 6-Hour Event Series ASCENSION Greenlight for Launch in 2014

Syfy is reigniting the channel's traditional long-form scripted programming event for 4th quarter with the greenlight of the 6-hour series ASCENSION, it was announced Thursday by Syfy President Dave Howe. ASCENSION is an ambitious original drama created and written by Philip Levens (SMALLVILLE) who will serve as Executive Producer and Showrunner. The series will be produced in Montreal, QC by Sea To Sky Studios in association with Blumhouse Productions. Jason Blum (Stranded, The River, film franchises Paranormal Activity and The Purge) and Mark Stern are Executive Producers on the project along with Ivan Fecan, Tim Gamble and Brett Burlock on behalf of Sea To Sky Studios. The event series will be co-financed and distributed by Universal Cable Productions and Lionsgate Television.

BEING HUMAN Season 4 To Culminate In Series Finale on April 7th

With the second half of BEING HUMAN's fourth season set to kick off, the human-at-heart characters are about to embark on a journey full of twists, turns and surprises that will culminate in a spectacular series finale on Syfy, Monday, April 7th.

Showrunner Anna Fricke and the talented producers, writers, cast and crew have done an amazing job bringing this show to life over the past four seasons and we sincerely thank them and the series' production company Muse Entertainment for their hard work. They've saved the best for last with the final six episodes that revisit the story's beginning, leading to a not-to-be-missed send-off for Aidan, Sally, Josh and Nora.

Syfy Kicks Off Spring 2014 with a New and Returning Prmetime Schedule


The debut of the new reality series JIM HENSON'S CREATURE SHOP CHALLENGE (March 25), the fifth and final season of WAREHOUSE 13 (April 14), a trio of weekly Tuesday night original specials - CARVERS (March 4), MY BIG FAT GEEK WEDDING (March 11) and FOXY & CO. (March 18) - and the Season 3 return of CONTINUUM (April 4) will be among the original programming highlights of Syfy's 2014 spring primetime schedule.

Syfy Doubles Up on HAVEN Ordering 26 New Episodes

Syfy has greenlit 26 new episodes of its hit series HAVEN, which posted growth in both Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49 last year. The first 13 episodes of Season 5 are set to premiere this fall with the remaining 13 episodes scheduled to air in 2015.

Tallying its best season ever in social mentions and Twitter activity, HAVEN’s recently wrapped fourth season was up 11% among Adults 18-34 (314,000) and up 3% year-to-year among Adults 18-49 (926,000). Overall, HAVEN averaged 1.1 million Adults 25-54 and 2.3 million viewers per week and ranked second in Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54 among original cable series in its Friday 10 p.m. ET/PT time slot. Syfy's New Lineup of Sexy Supernatural Dramas Heats Up Mondays Beginning January 13

Get ready to turn up the heat on Mondays this January when Syfy unveils its new primetime lineup of steamy supernatural scripted originals.

The primetime sizzle begins January 13 at 8 p.m. ET/PT with the Season 4 premiere of LOST GIRL, starring Anna Silk as a Succubus, a powerful female entity in folklore who feeds off sexual energy.

At 9 p.m., some of television's hottest roommates (Sam Witwer, Sam Huntington, Meaghan Rath and Kristen Hager) confront their haunting pasts in the fourth season return of the hit series BEING HUMAN.

Syfy Kicks Off January 2014 with Seven New and Returning Original Series

Syfy will kick off 2014 with seven new and returning original series in January including HELIX from Executive Producer Ronald D. Moore (BATTLESTAR GALACTICA) - a two episode premiere with limited commercial interruptions airing on Friday, January 10 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

The new supernatural drama BITTEN will join BEING HUMAN and LOST GIRL on Mondays beginning January 13 (LOST GIRL at 8 p.m. ET, BEING HUMAN at 9 p.m. ET and BITTEN at 10 p.m. ET).

As always, Syfy will ring in 2014 with its annual New Year's TWILIGHT ZONE marathon beginning December 31 and concluding on New Year's Day.

Syfy Thriller HELIX Set to Premiere January 10

Syfy's newest original scripted series HELIX will launch Friday, January 10 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. Repeats of the premiere will air continuously on Syfy all-day Saturday, January 11 until 10 p.m. ET/PT.

Executive produced by Ronald D. Moore, Steven Maeda who is also showrunner, and Lynda Obst, the 13-episode drama stars Billy Campbell and Hiroyuki Sanada.

HELIX is an intense thriller about a team of scientists from the Centers for Disease Control who travel to the high-tech research facility, Arctic BioSystems to investigate a possible disease outbreak, only to find themselves pulled into a terrifying life-and-death struggle that may hold the key to mankind's salvation or total annihilation. However, the lethal threat is just the tip of the iceberg, and as the virus evolves, the chilling truth begins to unravel.

Aaron Stanford and Amanda Schull Cast in Syfy's 12 MONKEYS Pilot

Syfy's pilot 12 MONKEYS has cast Aaron Stanford and Amanda Schull in the project's two lead roles. Also joining in key positions behind the camera are Natalie Chaidez (IN PLAIN SIGHT) as Executive Producer/Showrunner and Jeffrey Reiner (FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS) who will direct the pilot and also serve as Executive Producer.

The 60-minute pilot is being produced by Universal Cable Productions and Atlas Entertainment, producer of the original Bruce Willis-Brad Pitt theatrical directed by Terry Gilliam and released by Universal Pictures. Production is slated to begin in December in Detroit.

Syfy Movie Update: Cassie Scerbo, Jonathan Lipnicki, Kevin Dobson To Star In 'Beast of the Bering Sea', Paul Johansson, Thea Gill in 'Stonados'

MAKE IT OR BREAK IT and Sharknado star Cassie Scerbo will return to Syfy to battle sea vampires in the new original movie Beast of the Bering Sea, premiering Saturday, November 9 at 9 p.m. (ET/PT).

In Beast of the Bering Sea, Scerbo and Jonathan Lipnicki (Jerry Maguire) play a sister and brother team prospecting for gold, who accidentally disturb a colony of blood-sucking amphibious predators (sea vampires) in an underwater cave. Kevin Dobson (KNOTS LANDING) co-stars in this production from The Asylum (Sharknado 2).

In the original movie Stonados, premiering Saturday, November 23 at 9 p.m. (ET/PT), Paul Johansson (ONE TREE HILL, SANTA BARBARA), William B. Davis (THE X FILES) and Thea Gill (QUEER AS FOLK) star in a disaster movie about a freak weather system which hurls deadly boulders.
