Shawn Christian Stars in INSP Movie 'Savannah Sunrise' on June 26

Shawn Christian
Days of our Lives alum Shawn Christian will star in Savannah Sunrise, premiering Sunday, June 26 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on INSP. The film also stars Pamela Reed, Clare Carey, and Shawnee Smith.

Straight-laced Joy Miles (Smith) thinks she’s taking a simple road trip to move her free-spirited mother-in-law, Loraine (Reed), from Louisville to Savannah. Complete opposites, the two women manage to tolerate each other—barely. Joy is consumed with work, an impending deadline and a high-stakes project. Reluctantly, Loraine, now widowed, is taking the next step in life, moving to a retirement community, no longer a preacher’s wife, but a woman on her own. Her insights about life and family tend to get under Joy’s skin, especially since Loraine’s words make Joy take a hard look at her own whirlwind life, her priorities, and what is really important to her.

As the weekend unfolds, with its many adventures, hilarious encounters and heart-to-heart revelations, the women come to see each other through new, appreciative eyes. Mile after mile Joy’s true affections for Loraine start to surface. She takes a front-seat-view of how this strong-willed woman is managing the emotional transition of learning to live life after losing her spouse. And despite their many differences, with light-hearted escapades at every turn, they discover how much they respect, and even need, each other.

Savannah Sunrise was directed by Randall Stevens, and written by James Mitchell, Thomas Torrey, and Gary Wheeler.

Shawn Christian Leaving 'Days of our Lives' and the Role of Dr. Daniel Jonas

Shawn Christian
Shawn Christian is leaving Days of our Lives and the role of Dr. Daniel Jonas behind.

[SPOILER ALERT]

Daytime Confidential's Jamey Giddens first mentioned Christian's possible exit back in June, and now Serial Scoop's Michael Goldberg is reporting that Daniel will be killed off.

Unlike the recent deaths of Serena Mason (Melissa Archer) and Paige Larson (True O'Brien), Daniel will not be a victim of Salem's latest serial killer. Apparently he's going to meet his maker in some other way.

Prior to Days, Christian starred in As the World Turns as Mike Kasnoff, and Summerland as Johnny Durant. His other credits include Pacific Palisades, Boston Legal, Las Vegas, Beverly Hills, 90210 and Venice. Christian has recently been busy working on the thriller Last Seen in Idaho.
