'The Young and the Restless' Actor Scott Elrod to Guest Star on 'How to Get Away with Murder'

The Young and the Restless actor Scott Elrod will guest star on an upcoming episode of ABC's hit primetime soap opera How to Get Away with Murder.

“I can't believe how quick everything runs behind the scenes [on Y&R],” Elrod told Soap Opera Digest. "On How to Get Away with Murder, I was on the set all day but they still hadn’t shot my five pages. I was like, ‘Really [laughs]?’ ”

Elrod has been playing the role of Avery's ex, Joe Clark, on Y&R since October 1, 2014.

The second season of How to Get Away with Murder premieres on September 24 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. Annalise and her students must move on with their lives as though nothing has happened, but the students are still reeling over Rebecca’s disappearance. Only Annalise and Frank know that Rebecca was murdered and the two are determined to find out who killed her.

'The Young and the Restless' Preview: "Your Ex Is Not Gonna See Me Coming"

This week on The Young and the Restless, Joe Clark (Scott Elrod) pleads with his ex-wife, Avery (Jessica Collins) to give him a chance to make things up to her.

When Joe won't take no for an answer, Dylan McAvoy (Steve Burton) is determined to stop him.

"This dirtbag is after both of us, and I'm gonna put a stop to it tonight!" Dylan tells Avery.

'Men in Trees' Actor Scott Elrod Cast as Avery's Ex on 'The Young and the Restless'

Former Men in Trees actor Scott Elrod has joined the cast of CBS daytime soap opera The Young and the Restless in the contract role of Joe Clark, according to TVGuide.com.

Joe is the ex-husband of attorney/cooking show host Avery Clark (Jessica Collins).

Joe and Avery's marriage fell apart when Avery began her affair with war vet Dylan McAvoy (Steve Burton), but she has always felt guilty for betraying her husband.

According to a show rep, "Viewers can expect Joe to have more than a few tricks up his sleeve as he crosses paths with several key Y&R characters."

Elrod will debut on Y&R in early October.
