NEWS: Viewers Complain About Shocking DOWNTON ABBEY Story; Larry Lamb Says EASTENDERS Was A Hell Hole; Kyle Chandler Doesn't Want FNL Movie

Viewers complain over 'shocking' DOWNTON ABBEY episode
Viewers took to Twitter to express their "shock" and "distress" after Sunday's episode. A warning alerting viewers to the upsetting scenes was broadcast before the episode aired. Broadcasting watchdog Ofcom has also received a number of complaints - although it cannot yet release figures. An average of 9.2 million viewers watched the episode, with a peak audience of 9.9 million. (Major spoiler in article so be warned before you click the link.)

Connie Britton: Kyle Chandler Doesn't Want to Make a FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS Movie
The actress explains that Chandler is hesitant to do the film because it's already been done before (the series FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS was based on the 2004 movie, which was based on a book). "And he has a point," Britton noted.

Larry Lamb: EASTENDERS was a hell hole
Lamb, who played Archie Mitchell on the show, has penned his autobiography. He said actors were expected to film up to 30 scenes a day. He revealed how some were close to cracking up under the “tremendous pressures” placed on them by producers. One actress could not take the heat and became so paralyzed with fear that writers had to rewrite the script when she refused to leave her dressing room.

Lamb said: “In the end the director was begging her, yet she couldn't come out of the dressing room because of the pressure. She never ever went on.”

The BBC said: "EASTENDERS takes the well-being of all our actors and staff extremely seriously and we would never put any of our actors under any unreasonable pressure."

Ellen Pompeo Breaks Silence on Isaiah Washington, Katherine Heigl and Her GREY'S ANATOMY Future: 'I Have an Amazing Life'
In a new interview, Pompeo — whose contract is set to expire next summer (along with all of her original co-stars, including Patrick Dempsey) — expressed little desire to explore life outside of Grey Sloan Memorial.

“Actors always think the grass is greener somewhere else — I didn’t want to do that,” she told the New York Post. “I have an amazing life. I have a house five minutes from the studio, I have a house in the Hamptons, a house in Malibu, a beautiful daughter whom I see every night, and it’s all because I didn’t leave GREY'S ANATOMY.”

Pompeo also spoke candidly about the show’s tumultuous early days, including the high profile exits of Isaiah Washington and Katherine Heigl. “Hurt feelings, combined with instant success and huge paychecks started things spinning out of control,” she explained. “The crazier things got, as I watched all the tumult with Isaiah and then the Katie thing, I started to focus on the work. Maybe it is my Boston, blue-collar upbringing. I just tried to not pay attention to all the noise around me.”
