Today in Soap Opera History (July 11)

1986: Another World's Cecile refused to relent to Cass.

1949: The Brighter Day moved to CBS Radio after having aired its first nine months on NBC Radio. Bill Smith starred as Reverend Richard Dennis, pastor of a parish in the town of Three Rivers, where he tried to be both mother and father to daughters Elizabeth, Althea, Barbara and Patsy. The show was written by Irna Phillips with Ted Corday serving as one of the directors.

1960: Daytime soap opera The Clear Horizon premiered on CBS. The show was created and head written by Manya Starr with a cast led by Edward Kemmer and Phyllis Avery.

The show ran until March 10, 1961, then was canceled. CBS revived it from February 26 to June 15, 1962. Watch a short clip from later in the show's run below.

Robert Adamson Taken Off Contract at 'The Young and the Restless'

A week after the news that The Young and the Restless actors Sofia Pernas (Marisa) has been taken off contract and Lachlan Buchanan (Kyle) has been let go, comes word from Daytime Confidential that Robert Adamson (Noah Newman) has been placed on recurring status.

Adamson started playing Nick and Sharon's son in October 2012. He previously starred in Hollywood Heights, which was executive produced by Y&R's current EP, Jill Farren Phelps.

PHOTOS: "Genoa City Live!" Brings 'The Young and the Restless' Stars to Montclair, New Jersey

"Genoa City Live!," a series of once-in-a-lifetime, live fan events dedicated to CBS daytime drama, The Young and the Restless, has kicked off on the east coast. On February 20 at The Wellmont Theatre in Montclair, New Jersey, Y&R stars Eric Braeden (Victor Newman), Joshua Morrow (Nick Newman), Christian Jules LeBlanc (Michael Baldwin), Melissa Ordway (Abby Newman Rayburn), Sean Carrigan (Stitch Rayburn) and Robert Adamson (Noah Newman) met with fans, answered questions, told behind-the-scenes stories and entertained the packed audience. Linsey Godfrey & Robert Adamson Call Off Their Engagement

The Bold and the Beautiful star Linsey Godfrey (Caroline) and The Young and the Restless actor Robert Adamson (Noah) have called off their wedding plans, according to Soap Opera Digest. The couple has a one-year-old daughter, Aleda, born in June 2014.

"Actress Linsey Godfrey and her fiancĂ©, actor Robert Adamson, have made the difficult decision to call off their engagement and separate,” a B&B spokesperson confirmed to Digest. "They will always remain connected as they are committed to co-parenting their daughter Aleda in a loving and amicable environment and her needs will always be their common priority. They thank their fans for their support and ask that their privacy regarding this matter be respected."

Godfrey, who battled Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2006, was hit by a car earlier this year while walking down a sidewalk in Los Angeles.
