RAVENSWOOD Canceled by ABC Family

ABC Family has canceled the PRETTY LITTLE LIARS spinoff RAVENSWOOD after a 10 episode first season.

The network had hoped the ratings and strong social medial presence for PLL would transfer to the show that saw character Caleb Rivers (Tyler Blackburn) move to Ravenswood in order to investigate a mysterious curse that preys on the town's teenagers.

But the ratings were never quite there, with RAVENSWOOD earning an average of just under 1.3 million viewers each week.

There is no word yet what this means for crossover character Caleb, played by Tyler Blackburn.

WE LOVE SOAPS TV spoke with RAVENSWOOD stars Nicole Gale Anderson, Britne Oldford, Merritt Patterson and Brett Dier in December at ABC Family's Winter Wonderland event and the actors were excited about their upcoming storylines. Watch those interviews below:

RAVENSWOOD "Along Came a Spider" Preview

The Ravenswood Police make an arrest for the murder of Luke and Olivia’s father in “Along Came a Spider,” an all-new episode of ABC Family’s original series RAVENSWOOD, airing Tuesday, January 28th at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Mr. Price inadvertently sends Caleb and Miranda on a quest to investigate a secret Collins has been keeping, but it leads them to some startling insight about the pact. With questions about Dillon swirling, Olivia is confused when he finally shows up to help her through her latest crisis. And Remy and Luke are determined to prove that Dillon has been hiding something, which puts Luke in danger.

Meanwhile, Caleb starts school in Ravenswood and Miranda tries to keep him company, leading to an awkward incident.

PRETTY LITTLE LIARS Is Tuesday's #1 TV Telecast in Target Females and #1 Most-Tweeted TV Telecast for the 2nd Consecutive Week

At 8 o'clock, PRETTY LITTLE LIARS ranked as Tuesday's #1 TV telecast for the 2nd-consecutive week in Women 18-34 (895,000/2.6 rating) and Females 12-34 (1.41 million/3.1 rating), Tuesday's #1 cable TV telecast in Prime in Adults 18-34 (1.10 million/1.6 rating) and Viewers 12-34 (1.69 million/1.8 rating) and was the #1 cable TV telecast in the hour in Adults 18-49 (1.35 million/1.1 rating) and Women 18-49 (1.08 million/1.7 rating). It was also the #1 TV telecast in Teens (585,000/2.4 rating) and Female Teens (519,000/4.3 rating).

Winter Debut of PRETTY LITTLE LIARS is the #1 Most-Tweeted Season Premiere in TV History With Over 1.3 Million Tweets

The winter premiere of social media sensation, PRETTY LITTLE LIARS, became the #1 most-tweeted season premiere in TV history, generating over 1.3 million Tweets by nearly 473,000 contributors, peaking at a max rate of 30,000 tweets per minute. Notably, the series now accounts for the Top 5 most-tweeted TV series telecasts on record, with 8 episodes amassing over 1 million tweets.

RAVENSWOOD Winter Premiere Airs January 7, 2014

RAVENSWOOD returns on Tuesday, January 7 (9-10 p.m. ET/PT) with the new episode "Revival." Fresh off his trip to Rosewood, Caleb struggles to deal with the aftermath of his brief time with Miranda (Nicole Gale Anderson) on the other side. Remy (Britne Oldford) realizes her dreams may be the best clue they have into understanding the pact, but she unwittingly attracts something that is determined to make sure Remy doesn't wake up. And Miranda decides to haunt Mrs. Grunwald for answers but discovers Grunwald may have a ghostly friend of her own.

Meanwhile, Luke (Brett Dier) and Olivia (Merritt Patterson) are unnerved by Collins' increasing attention towards their mother, and Olivia makes a major decision about Dillon, without realizing his true motivations.

ALMOST HUMAN & DOCTOR WHO Top GetGlue Chart for the Week of November 18-24

FOX's ALMOST HUMAN was the top broadcast show on GetGlue, and BBC America's DOCTOR WHO was the top cable show for the week of November 18-24.

On the ratings front, DOCTOR WHO's 50th Anniversary special, DOCTOR WHO: THE DAY OF THE DOCTOR, delivered 3.6 million viewers in L+SD for the daytime simulcast and primetime encore. On Saturday, BBC AMERICA was the #1 cable network on Twitter, Doctor Who was #1 on Twitter in all of television and the series set a record on Tumblr with the highest level of activity of any televised event ever, surpassing the Super Bowl and MTV's Video Music Awards.

DOCTOR WHO earned the Guinness World Record for the largest ever simulcast of a TV drama following a massive global campaign which saw the episode broadcast in 94 countries across 6 continents.

The search for answers may lie buried deep within the dream world in the winter premieres of PRETTY LITTLE LIARS and RAVENSWOOD, airing on Tuesday, January 7, starting at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Armed with the knowledge that Alison is alive, Aria, Emily, Hanna and Spencer have more questions now than ever before in an all-new episode of PRETTY LITTLE LIARS entitled “Who’s In The Box?,” airing Tuesday, January 7 (8-9 p.m. ET/PT). Trying to put the pieces together Hanna comes up with the idea that if they find out who is really buried in Ali’s grave it may lead to much needed answers. But as the girls search, Emily has trouble dealing with how she feels about Alison being alive.

In order to prove to Luke that something otherworldly is happening, the gang decides to hold a séance in "Believe," an all new episode of ABC Family’s original series RAVENSWOOD, airing Tuesday, November 5th at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Luke is resistant when Caleb and Remy try to convince him that Ravenswood is being plagued by the supernatural. To convince him, they decide to try and contact the “other side.”

Olivia begins her own investigation into her father’s death, which turns much more sinister than she was expecting.

Remy grows more concerned about her mother, who recently returned from Afghanistan.

ABC Family Announces January Return Date for New Series RAVENSWOOD, TWISTED Back in February

ABC Family announced today that recent series RAVENSWOOD will return with new episodes on January 7, 2014, paired with PRETTY LITTLE LIARS. TWISTED will also return with all-new episodes on Tuesday, February 11, 2014, after RAVENSWOOD finishes its run.

RAVENSWOOD premiered October 22, 2013, as ABC Family's #1 series premiere in the network's history in Women 18-34 and cable TV's biggest drama debut in the demo in nearly three years. Additionally, the series premiere amassed the most tweets of any new TV series premiere this season, reaching over three million people and generating over 16 million impressions. The show will air its midseason finale on November 19, 2013.

The town of Ravenswood reveals itself to be more than meets the eye for many in the two hour PRETTY LITTLE LIARS and RAVENSWOOD special event airing on Tuesday, October 22nd during the network's annual "13 Nights of Halloween" programming event.

In the special Halloween episode of PRETTY LITTLE LIARS, entitled "Grave New World," airing at 8 p.m. ET/PT, Aria, Emily, Hanna and Spencer crash the Ravenswood Founders Day Celebration after finding a clue in "A's" new lair that Ali may indeed be alive. Dressed in their finest Edwardian wear, the ladies hit the creepy cemetery party to find Ali before "A" can. On a special Halloween episode of PRETTY LITTLE LIARS on Tuesday, October 22 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) heads to Ravenswood to help the girls and meets kindred soul Miranda (Nicole Gale Anderson) along the way.

The mysteries continue in the series premiere of RAVENSWOOD, airing at 9 p.m. ET/PT. After opting to stay in Ravenswood to help out new pal Miranda, Caleb begins to rethink his decision, especially after he meets Miranda's cold and unwelcoming uncle Raymond (Steven Cabral). Caleb also has some unpleasant interactions with local resident Luke (Brett Dier), who is struggling to deal with a recent family tragedy and its ensuing scandal, which has also swept up his twin sister Olivia (Merritt Patterson).

Unnerved by what they witnessed the night of the party, and besieged by strange and supernatural occurrences, Caleb and Miranda begin to investigate this bizarre town.
