NEWS: Prospect Park, Anthony Geary, Josh Duhamel, Cindy Crawford, Nicholas Rodriguez

Prospect Park blames ABC lawsuit for its Chapter 7 bid
Production company Prospect Park Networks LLC has asked to convert its bankruptcy to Chapter 7 because it couldn't pay Jones Day's fees in a breach of contract suit against The Walt Disney Co.'s ABC network over the soap opera One Life to Live. PPN, which tried to revive OLTL and All My Children online, said in a Delaware bankruptcy court filing that it had hoped selling its Connecticut tax credits to Apple Inc. would pay for Jones Day to represent it in its $95 million lawsuit against ABC, but the proceeds weren't enough to keep the firm on board or to find a suitable replacement.

"The best hope for a meaningful recovery to creditors is successful prosecution or settlement of the ABC litigation," the motion said. "The debtor and the debtor's counsel have done everything to keep the ABC litigation alive for the benefits of creditors."

Anthony Geary open to a General Hospital return
“If the story is interesting to me and it works out, I may come back to the show for six weeks or so,” Geary told EW.

Cindy Crawford developing NBC drama about 1980s modeling wars
The series, tentatively titled Icon, marks Crawford’s television producing debut. Anne Heche (Another World) and James Tupper will also serve as exec producers with Crawford and Robin Bissell, who will pen the project, hailing from Universal TV.

Icon, in very early development, revolves around the modeling wars in the ’80s that occurred between Ford Modeling Agency and Elite Model Management. The show is completely fictionalized, rather than a re-telling of Crawford’s own experiences. No actual names of models or figures from the time will be used.

One Life to Live alum Nicholas Rodriguez to lead all-Latino cast of Karen Zacarias' "Destiny of Desire" at Arena Stage
Rodriguez returns as part of an all-Latino ensemble playing Sebastian Jose Castillo, in a cast that includes Valenzuela's daughter and son, Esperanza America and Fidel Gomez, as Pilar Castillo and Dr. Diego Mendoza.

Former All My Children star Josh Duhamel joins Hulu's 11/22/63
Based on King's best-seller, 11/22/63 is described as a thriller in which high school English teacher Jake Epping (James Franco) travels back in time to prevent the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. But his mission is threatened by Lee Harvey Oswald (played by Daniel Webber), falling in love and the past itself … which doesn’t want to be changed.

Duhamel will play Frank Dunning, the father of Jake's student Harry Dunning (played by youngster Jack Fulton and Leon Rippy), in 1960s Kentucky. Frank is the rakish town butcher, a ladies' man with an effortless smile that everyone welcomes — except Jake, the only man who knows the full violence of which Frank is capable.

NEWS: Anthony Geary, Wally Kurth, John Stamos, Hulk Hogan, Aubrey Peeples, Alicia Coppola, Brianna Brown

Anthony Geary on how General Hospital grew into a cultural phenomenon
"It’s amazing in retrospect. At the time we were working so hard, I don’t think we really realized the impact that the show was having, or that the marriage of Luke and Laura was having, on its audience. Genie Francis and I were working five days a week, sometimes as much as 70 pages of dialogue a day, so we would finish our work, go home, learn the next day’s work and come back and do it for months at a time. And it really took leaving the studio and going out of L.A. – either making a personal appearance or going to my parents’ home in Utah – for me to realize that the show and this character was having the impact it was having."

ABC buys family drama Black Heart from Prospect Park
In a competitive situation, with two networks interested, ABC has bought Black Heart, a sprawling family drama from playwright/screenwriter Kelly Masterson (Killing Kennedy) and Prospect Park. Prospect Park’s CEO Jeff Kwatinetz and TV partner Josh Barry executive produce with Masterson.

Described as an edge-of-your-seat thriller, Stay centers on a recently widowed police detective and his two daughters who are stranded at a foreboding hotel during a storm and must unravel the hotel’s mysteries to escape. Coppola plays Alison, Jake’s mother and the wife of the conservative, emotionally withdrawn Frank, whom she fears. A steady diet of antidepressants help block out her crumbling marriage and keeps her sane. Brown is Eva, another guest at the Grayfield Hotel, who’s seeking shelter from the storm. A con artist, Eva went down the wrong path in life, let her actions get out of control and is on a journey to right these wrongs.

Showbiz411 takes issue General Hospital star Michelle Stafford "sneaking" Scientology into Nickelodeon
Writes Roger Friedman: "Scientology may have been outed on HBO’s Going Clear but it’s going strong at Nickelodeon. The children network’s Nickmom.com website is currently featuring short films from Michelle Stafford, the extremely mannered actress who jumped from one soap opera, The Young and the Restless [as Phyllis], to another, General Hospital [as Nina], last year. Stafford is an avowed member of Scientology. So is her production: everyone involved with her Secret Mind of a Single Mom is from Scientology. Just about the entire credit list, from actors to crew, are members of the cult."

Decoding the Latest Development in the Ever-Tedious PP vs. ABC Lawsuit
Prospect Park's Chapter 11 bankruptcy plan is "is unfounded, unreliable as its using the basis of the payment of the suit to pay their debts, relying on funds that currently are not tangible. Meaning funds that don’t actually exist and will only exist IF PPN wins their lawsuit. (This is kind of like saying; I will pay my bills once I win the lottery.)"

Turkish soaps invade Latin America, land of 'telenovela'
Dubbed in Spanish by Chilean actors, Thousand and One Nights has achieved an audience share not seen in years in the South American country, reversing the sinking fortunes of the channel airing it. The channel now has the top news show and morning program, as well, and is the only Chilean network on track to turn a profit in 2014.

Trustee Blasts One Life To Live and All My Children Producer Prospect Park's Chapter 11 Disclosure
U.S. Trustee Roberta A. DeAngelis argues that PPN's disclosure statement should be rejected because the plan itself is defective and would only take effect once funds are available to pay administrative and priority tax claims, a situation that seemingly depends on the company succeeding in its $95 million lawsuit against the ABC television network.

ABC Fails To Trim Prospect Park Soap Suit
Deadline.com reports that a judge has denied ABC's motion to strike a component of Prospect Park's amended complaint against the network (in which PP requested an extension for its license to AMC and OLTL and to be excused from its payment for the license). "I'm going to let them leave it in," Judge Robert Hess said, per Deadline. ABC has 20 days to respond to the amended complaint.

ABC Responds to Prospect Park Lawsuit, Does Not Want License Extended on ALL MY CHILDREN & ONE LIFE TO LIVE

ABC has made their first response in court to the $95 million lawsuit launched by Prospect Park that accuses the network of sabotaging a relaunch of ONE LIFE TO LIVE and ALL MY CHILDREN.

Besides $95 million in damages, Prospect Park is also demanding "a declaration that Prospect Park's continued payment of the licensing fees under the Agreement is excused; that Prospect Park is entitled to an extension of the License Agreement; and that the term of the License Agreement is tolled, from the time of ABC's breach until the breach is fully remedied."

ABC wants the license extension demand removed from the lawsuit. According to ABC, the license agreement allows Prospect Park rights on the soaps for up to 15 seasons of 12 calendar months each unless Prospect ceases production for 18 consecutive months. In that case, rights would revert back to ABC.

Prospect Park CEO Jeff Kwatinetz Sues Company and Investment Firm ABRY Partners

Prospect Park's multi-million dollar legal battle with ABC over ALL MY CHILDREN and ONE LIFE TO LIVE isn't the only courtroom drama the production company is now facing. Prospect Park chief Jeff Kwatinetz is suing the production company he co-founded as well as investor ABRY Partners, seeking to have a non-compete clause in his contract ruled invalid, according to Deadline.com.
The producer and talent manager is seeking a declaratory judgment over non-compete clauses in a December 31, 2012 employment agreement he signed with Prospect Park when the Boston-based investors came on board late last year.

The catalyst of the complaint was a difference of opinion that Kwatinetz has with ABRY over the direction of the company. Specially, that disagreement has to do with the future of AMC and OLTL and whether they will continue or not.

On Wednesday, Prospect Park filed a new amended complaint with more details of ABC's alleged fraud and a demand for more than $95 million in damages. According to the latest court papers, ABC schemed in a quest for a "mega soap."

Thorsten Kaye Joins THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL

ALL MY CHILDREN star Thorsten Kaye has joined the cast of THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL as the new Ridge Forrester, according to TVGuide.com. He replaces longtime star Ronn Moss, who departed the soap in 2012 after 25 years.

Kaye will make his B&B debut on December 13. Ridge will be returning from more than a year away in Paris to find his ex-wife Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) is now engaged to Bill Spencer (Don Diamont).

"I won't bring the same tools to the role as Ronn did," Kaye said, "but I do have a couple of my own. I just hope the audience will let me play with this for a bit and try to get my footing."

"I don't have a contract there anymore," Kaye explained when asked about his deal with AMC production company Prospect Park. "It's sad, you know? And I hope it all works out for them. But when you have a solid opportunity on a show that's so highly regarded, you just gotta take it."
