Charles Shaughnessy and Patsy Pease Returning to 'Days of our Lives' as Kim and Shane?

Patsy Pease, Charles Shaughnessy
It looks like actor Charles Shaughnessy and Patsy Pease may be on their way back to NBC soap opera Days of our Lives to reprise their beloved roles of Shane and Kimberly Donovan, Theresa's parents.

In a message since deleted, actor Larry Poindexter (Father Louis) tweeted from the set, "What a blast;@PatsyPease @marybeth_evans1 @ericmartsolf @C_Shaughnessy ‪#‎fatherlouis‬"

A rep from Days would not confirm the returns. If true, look for Kim and Shane to pop up later this fall.

FLASHBACK: Patricia Pease 1980

Patsy Found Her Niche On TOMORROW

By John N. Goudas
King Features Syndicate
May 23, 1980

"Foot-stomping, knee-slapping, hee-hawing, hat-throwing, rowdy blue grass hoe doe!" That's the way SEARCH FOR TOMORROW's spirited Patsy Pease, who portrays the feisty vixen Cissy Mitchell, described a recent farewell party given for castmate Danny Goldring (Beau Mitchell). That delightful vernacular is not put-on for Patsy, (SEARCH's own country-western singer), who is from a small town in North Carolina and well acquainted with square dancing, yodeling and fiddling.

However, her home background did nothing to enhance her long-term goals. According to 23-year-old Patsy, to dream of performing was uppity, having your head in the clouds. Ironically, her first attempt toward a career was promted by a pamphlet from the North Carolina School for the Arts that she found in a wastepaper basket of her high school guidance counseler.

WLS Interview: Patsy Pease (Part Five)

Two-time Soap Opera Digest Award winner Patsy Pease has been sharing her thoughts on acting, landing the role of Kimberly Brady on DAYS OF OUR LIVES and the decision she made to return to the show multiple times despite less than perfect circumstances. In Part Five our of our interview, Pease explains why she's so much happier if life these days and answers our question about whether she would go back to her most famous role.

We Love Soaps: I admire the way you have made active choices to have more peace in your life, even if it meant giving up the job of DAYS.
Patsy Pease: Whenever you’re selling out your soul to be successful it’s time to quit. There are some actresses over there, I don’t know where they went, but they’re behind an iron door, just to be able to survive. But I can’t do that. I don’t have whatever it is that makes rawhide skin that you can’t penetrate. I seem to be unable to do that. I would still be working today if I could. But I can’t. I wear my heart on my sleeve and what comes out of my mouth is exactly the way I feel. You never have to guess with me, if I have something to say I’ll tell you.

WLS Interview: Patsy Pease (Part One)

It was 25 years ago that Patsy Pease was hired by DAYS OF OUR LIVES to portray Kimberly Brady, the spunky sibling of Roman, Bo and Kayla. Who knew after her first scene of being discovered naked in Tony DiMera's bed that she was beginning an eight year legacy as a strong, stubborn, and inspiring leading lady. Please join me in this series of interviews to learn how Patsy nailed the role of Kimberly, how she has coped with internal and external struggles, and has inspired millions (including me) to overcome adversity.

We Love Soaps: It is such an honor to be able to speak with you.
Patsy Pease: I looked at you guys, you look like you work out a lot, you guys are in great shape. I’ve got to say that right off the bat.

We Love Soaps: Thank you! During the summer of 1984, I saved up the entire summer for a VCR so I could tape DAYS every day once school started. That was right at the beginning of your first successful run as Kimberly Brady. Before that, you had been on SEARCH FOR TOMORROW with John Aniston (Victor)
Patsy Pease: Yes, and Matt Ashford (Jack). We had gone to school together. In fact, I was his jazz teacher. So when I went to New York and did SEARCH and then left. Then he went to New York and did SEARCH and then left. Then I went to DAYS, and he went to DAYS. I said, “If this is Teacher Appreciation month I can understand that, but you’ve really got to stop following me around. “ And John too!

We Love Soaps: Yes, John Aniston followed you to DAYS after SEARCH.
Patsy Pease: The funny thing is, on SEARCH he played a character that was trying to get me kicked out of town too. He’s so good at being bad, he has fun doing it.
