18th Annual PRISM Awards Winners Include 'Days of our Lives', 'Scandal', 'Parenthood' and 'Grey's Anatomy'

The Entertainment Industries Council, Inc. (EIC) announced the winners for the 18th Annual PRISM Awards on Monday night at a star-studded ceremony in Los Angeles. The PRISM Awards honor TV, movie, music, online, and comic book entertainment that accurately depicts drug, alcohol and tobacco use and addiction, as well as mental health issues. The awards are in partnership with FX Network.

In the Feature Film categories, winners were Home (Entertainment One) in the Mental Health category and The Spectacular Now (A24) in the Substance Use category. The feature film performance award went to Julia Roberts for her role in August: Osage County.

For Comedy Series, the winner was Nurse Jackie: Season 5 (Showtime). In the category of Performance in a Comedy Series, Allison Janney was honored for her role in Mom (CBS).

DREW (VH1), and DAYS OF OUR LIVES (NBC) were among those honored for their accuracy in portraying mental health and substance use issues at the 17th Annual PRISM Awards, presented by the Entertainment Industries Council, Inc. (EIC) in partnership with the FX Network.

DAYS OF OUR LIVES, GLEE and PARENTHOOD Win 16th Annual Prism Awards

DAYS OF OUR LIVES, GLEE and PARENTHOOD were among the winners of this year's Prism Awards. Matt Ashford accepted the award for DAYS' story about Jack being a prisoner of war.

"I'm so proud to able to tell this story," he said during his acceptance speech. "It was my pleasure and honor to realize that they are still fighting everyday. Most of them are actors, actresses and producers who were soildiers themselves, fighting to regain control of their lives. Again, I thank you very much."

NOMINATIONS: 16th Annual PRISM Awards--BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL, DAYS OF OUR LIVES, GENERAL HOSPITAL

The Entertainment Industries Council, Inc. (EIC) has announced the nominees for scripted movies and TV shows for the 16th Annual PRISM Awards. The PRISM Awards honor TV, movie, music, DVD and comic book entertainment the accurately depicts drug, alcohol and tobacco use and addiction, as well as mental health issues. The Nomination Review Committee of over 80 representatives of both the entertainment industry and health field, selected from over 400 productions submitted, according to Brian Dyak, President and CEO of EIC.
