Sharknado's Ian Ziering: 'Maybe This Is My Pulp Fiction Moment'
"After reading the script, I didn't think it would see the light of day! But, you know, I don't normally do things for glory; I do things for accomplishment. And I always wanted to do action-adventure, and science fiction genres were always something that were of great interest to me. And when I read the script and saw that I got to rappel off bridges, chainsaw my way out of the belly out of a shark, you know, this was a chance for me to relive some of those Die Hard moments that I remember being so envious of when I was younger. NEWS: Monica Potter On Being Fired From Y&R, Redaric Williams Teases Tyler's Future, Tyler Christopher On Contract

PARENTHOOD's Monica Potter On Getting Fired From THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS
"I worked on THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, and I was fired because I was terrible," Potter told Craig Ferguson in a 2010 interview (below) at the 4:23 mark. "I had to dance in like a bathing suit and, you know, they put all this paint on you, like you're supposed to be tan and there's music in the background, but there's not really music ... I just couldn't do it."

"Four years later, I woke up one morning and said, 'I have to go back to California because I have to work and support the kids ... Within three months of being back [in LA], I got a phone call that my father died," Potter said in Variety's Emmy Studio Supporting Actress Drama panel discussion. "So that was the purpose, just being back there for those years ... I would never, ever, ever, ever give up that time back in Cleveland with my parents, with my dad -- and my boys with my father -- for anything ... It's kind of cool to have gotten a second chance to come back and do television."

PARENTHOOD's Bravermans Arrive At PaleyFest 2013

The cast of NBC’s critically acclaimed drama series PARENTHOOD engaged its loyal audience Thursday night at the 2013 William S. Paley Television Festival.

As part of the Paley Center for Media’s 15-day tribute to TV’s top shows, both the actors from the series and executive producer Jason Katims discussed the recently concluded fourth season before an exuberant crowd at the Saban Theater in Beverly Hills.

PARENTHOOD is a one-hour drama inspired by the box-office hit of the same name. This re-imagined and updated Universal Television/Imagine Television production follows the trials and tribulations of the very large, colorful and imperfect Braverman family.

One of the highlighted points of conversation was how the character of Kristina Braverman dealt with a season-long cancer diagnosis. After undergoing a mammogram, Potter relayed her experience to executive producer-creator Jason Katims but, unbeknownst to her, Katims and his writing team had already broken a cancer storyline for Kristina.
