Victoria Rowell, Shemar Moore & Mishael Morgan Returning to 'Young and the Restless' for Kristoff St. John Tribute

Three former cast members will return to The Young and the Restless to help say goodbye to longtime star Kristoff St. John, who died on February 4 at the age of 52.

Shemar Moore (Malcolm Winters), Victoria Rowell (Drucilla Winters) and Mishael Morgan (Hilary Curtis Winters) will participate in several episodes of the CBS daytime drama to pay final respects to St. John, who played Neil Winters since 1991. According to EW, Moore will reprise his role as Neil’s brother for two episodes airing April 25-26, while Rowell and Morgan will appear as themselves in a special tribute episode on April 29. The latter will include former and current cast members sharing memories of St. John and will also feature clips of St. John's most memorable moments.

Moore made his last appearance on Y&R as Neil's brother in September 2014. Rowell's Drucilla was a fan favorite from 1990-2007. Morgan played Hilary Curtis from 2013-18.

The Y&R plot line will address St. John’s passing beginning April 23. Genoa City learns of the unexpected death of Neil, so family and friends gather to remember their beloved father, colleague, brother, and friend. The story will continue through the remainder of the week.

“We all miss Kristoff immensely and are understandably still in a bit of shock,” says executive producer Anthony Morina to EW. “Our hope is that this storyline and tribute episode airing in April will honor the legendary character Kristoff helped create, and provide our audience with the opportunity to say a meaningful goodbye to Neil Winters.”

Mishael Morgan Wraps Five-Year Run at 'The Young and the Restless'

On Wednesday, actress Mishael Morgan wrapped her five-year run as Hilary Curtis on CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless.

After shooting her final day on the Y&R set, Morgan posted a farewell on Instagram.

"...and that’s a wrap," she wrote. "Just over five years ago, I tweeted a pic of CBS to announce the start of my journey on Y&R. Now, I have to say good bye. Sooo bittersweet. Thank you to everyone who supported me on my journey. On to the next adventure! #YR #goodbye #lastday"

Morgan renewed her three-year contract in 2016 with no pay raise but refused to do that this time around when her two-year cycle ended.

"We felt that we were put in the position that we had no choice but to explore other options," Morgan's agent, xx, told TV Source Magazine. In my opinion, there was no give or take. It was sort of a 'take it or leave it' scenario."

When Will A Black Woman Win in the Lead Actress Category at the Daytime Emmys?

Vinessa Antoine, Karla Mosley, Reign Edwards, Sal Stowers, Mishael Morgan and Brytni Sarpy.
Viola Davis made history on Sunday, becoming the first African-American actress to take home a Primetime Emmy Award for outstanding lead actress in a drama series for her role on How to Get Away with Murder. It took 67 years. When it comes to afternoon programming, we're still waiting.

Below is the list of the lead actress winners over the past 42 years at the Daytime Emmys. Sadly, there haven't been that many women of color even nominated, and none that won. All My Children's brilliant Debbi Morgan was nominated three times for her portrayal of Dr. Angie Hubbard. She won in the supporting actress category in 1989, tied with Santa Barbara's Nancy Lee Grahn. Grahn faced a social media backlash last night and today after insensitive comments during Davis' historic Emmys win.

Christel Khalil, Anna Maria Horsbord, Sonya Eddy and Aloma Wright.
The actress with the best show to break through in daytime at the 2016 Daytime Emmys is probably Karla Mosley, who has given one outstanding performance after another this year as Maya Avant on The Bold and the Beautiful.

Daytime Emmys Lead Actress Winners
1974 Elizabeth Hubbard, The Doctors
1975 Susan Flannery, Days of our Lives
1976 Helen Gallagher, Ryan's Hope

2012 Heather Tom, The Bold and the Beautiful
2013 Heather Tom, The Bold and the Beautiful
2014 Eileen Davidson, Days of our Lives
2015 Maura West, General Hospital

Viola Davis gave a moving acceptance speech that captured her historic win well:

"'In my mind, I see a line. And over that line, I see green fields and lovely flowers and beautiful white women with their arms stretched out to me, over that line. But I can’t seem to get there no how. I can’t seem to get over that line.'

"That was Harriet Tubman in the 1800s. And let me tell you something: The only thing that separates women of color from anyone else is opportunity.

"You cannot win an Emmy for roles that are simply not there. So here’s to all the writers, the awesome people that are Ben Sherwood, Paul Lee, Peter Nowalk, Shonda Rhimes, people who have redefined what it means to be beautiful, to be sexy, to be a leading woman, to be black.

"And to the Taraji P. Hensons, the Kerry Washingtons, the Halle Berrys, the Nicole Beharies, the Meagan Goods, to Gabrielle Union: Thank you for taking us over that line. Thank you to the Television Academy. Thank you."
