Reimagined 'Undressed' in Development at MTV

On the heels of its blockbuster deal for The Real World, MTV Studios today announced plans to reimagine Undressed, another groundbreaking series that explored the complicated dynamics of young adult relationships.

Celebrated for its honest take on gender, class and race, Undressed helped launch the careers of hundreds of young actors and behind the scenes talent, including: Christina Hendricks, Jason Ritter, Max Greenfield, Brandon Routh and Chad Michael Murray, as well as Damon Lindelof (Lost), Lizzy Weiss (Switched at Birth) and Steven S. DeKnight (Buffy the Vampire Slayer).

Roland JoffĂ©, the two-time Oscar nominated director who created and executive produced “Undressed,” is set to EP the scripted series which is currently in development.

MTV aired more than 200 episodes from 1999 – 2002 of the GLAAD Award winner which was widely praised by fans and critics alike for being one of the only shows at the time to feature gay, lesbian and bisexual characters and same-sex relationships. By offering an unfiltered look at the romantic lives of these characters, “Undressed” proved to be one of the most inclusive shows of its generation.

Casey Deidrick, John Garet Stoker & Kiersey Clemons Join MTV Drama 'Eye Candy'


Casey Deidrick (Days Of our Lives), John Garet Stoker and Kiersey Clemons (Austin & Ally) are set to co-star opposite Victoria Justice in the upcoming MTV thriller drama Eye Candy, from producer Jason Blum.

The project was picked up to series in February with a 10-episode order. It was to undergo changes, including extensive recasting, with only Justice and Harvey Guillen staying on from the pilot cast.

'Teen Wolf' Renewed For 20-Episode 5th Season

MTV announced Thursday to a packed room of screaming fans at San Diego Comic-Con that the hit drama series Teen Wolf has been greenlit for a two-part, 20-episode fifth season. Additionally, the room was given a first-look at the mid-season trailer which is currently available to view on iPhone/iPad or Android via the MTV App.

Today's Comic-Con panel marked the fifth consecutive year that Teen Wolf took the Con by storm. Cast members Tyler Posey, Dylan O'Brien, Tyler Hoechlin, Holland Roden, along with newbies to the pack, Shelley Hennig and Dylan Sprayberry, and Executive Producer Jeff Davis participated in the panel and Q & A session moderated by Buzzfeed Senior Editor, Jarett Wieselman.

TEEN WOLF Season 3 Finale Takes a Bite Out of the Competition as Monday's #1 Cable Telecast

The second half of the third season of MTV's hit series TEEN WOLF came to a dramatic close last night with the finale episode drawing in 2.3 million total viewers and a strong 2.0 P12-34 rating, making it the highest rated episode since the January premiere. It was also Monday's #1 cable telecast.

The season, which saw the death of beloved character Allison Argent (series star Crystal Reed) in the penultimate episode, is the highest rated season to date and was Monday's #1 cable program with teens. This season, ratings grew 50 percent with +3 day playback to average a 2.7 rating among P12-34 and 3.1 million total viewers.

AWKWARD Season 4 Premieres April 15 on MTV; FAKING IT Debuts April 22


MTV announced today the premiere dates for the season four special one hour return of AWKWARD, on Tuesday, April 15th at 10PM ET/PT and the season premiere date of the highly anticipated coming-of-age comedy series from Carter Covington, FAKING IT, on Tuesday, April 22nd at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT. This will put the two comedies back to back on Tuesday's nights moving forward. Additionally, HOUSE OF FOOD, a one hour cooking competition reality series will premiere Monday, March 31st at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

AWKWARD season four returns with new showrunners Chris Alberghini and Mike Chessler. This season promises even more complications for Jenna as a senior. She endures more boy trouble, drama with her friends, a new girl in town who has eyes for Matty and even some cat fishing.

Monday's Season Three Return of TEEN WOLF Is the Most Watched Telecast in Series History

The highly anticipated second half of TEEN WOLF season three returned as Monday's #1 original cable series. The most watched telecast in the series' history, the episode drew-in a record 2.5 million total viewers. It also garnered a strong 2.3 P12-34 rating, matching the earlier series high when season three first debuted. According to Social Guide, "Teen Wolf" was the most social entertainment program of the night, with nearly 1.2 million tweets - 25 percent more than the earlier series high. Season three is pacing to be the highest-rated and most-watched season to date.

MTV and Sonar Entertainment Developing Best-Selling Fantasy Novels "Shannara" Into TV Series

MTV and Sonar Entertainment have announced a development deal to adapt Terry Brooks' international best-selling fantasy novels "Shannara" for the small screen. Jon Favreau will direct and executive produce and Al Gough and Miles Millar (SMALLVILLE, Spiderman 2) will write and executive produce if the project goes to series. Terry Brooks and Dan Farah will also serve as executive producers.

President of MTV Programming Susanne Daniels said "I am thrilled to be working with the SMALLVILLE creators Al and Miles again along with the amazingly talented Jon Favreau. We feel that the 'Shannara' novels are a perfect fit for MTV as this type of fantasy genre has continuously proved to resonate with our audience."

Sonar Entertainment CEO Stewart Till said "This collaboration with MTV, combined with the amazing creative talent attached to this project, including our existing relationship with Terry Brooks and Dan Farah of Farah Films, gives us tremendous confidence that we have a potential hit property with appeal to audiences worldwide. TEEN WOLF Season Four and WOLF WATCH Companion Series Announced Today at New York Comic-Con

MTV announced today to a crowd of screaming TEEN WOLF fans at New York Comic-Con that the hit series will return for a fourth season in 2014 with 12 new episodes. Additionally, the network will debut the new talk show WOLF WATCH set to air weekly after each TEEN WOLF episode. The highly anticipated second half of TEEN WOLF season three will begin on Monday, January 6, 2014 at 10 p.m. ET/PT directly followed by the WOLF WATCH series premiere.

Today’s panel featured on-screen son and father duo "Stiles" and "Stilinski" played by Dylan O'Brien and Linden Ashby, respectively as well as Executive Producer Jeff Davis and was moderated by TV Guide Magazine Senior Writer, Damian Holbrook.

MTV Releases Trailer for Fall Premiere of AWKWARD

MTV today released the trailer for the critically-acclaimed comedy series AWKWARD which will return for its fall premiere on Tuesday, October 22 at 10:30 PM ET/PT. The 10 episodes will conclude the second half of its expanded 20-episode third season. In the season premiere episode, after an impulsive make out session with Collin, Jenna resolves to end her infidelity before Matty finds out.

Throughout the fall season, and in the wake of Jenna's romance with Collin, she begins to question the stability of her relationship with Matty, and whether her straying is a sign of something deeper. But after a surprise public kiss shakes her world there is no going back. One mistake will make things awkward-er than ever, and Jenna's personality makeover will leave her friends and family wondering who this new Jenna is.

TEEN MOM Farrah Abraham Coming To DAYS OF OUR LIVES (Updated)

According to RadarOnline.com, TEEN MOM Farrah Abraham landed a role on DAYS OF OUR LIVES. The 22-year-old single mother signed on with the show after sending in audition tapes.  Radar posted the cringe-worthy tapes and said a show insider confirmed the casting.

“Farrah initially wanted one of the lead roles, but clearly she’s not a seasoned actress, so she auditioned for the role of a hooker named Destiny,” the source said.

MTV Renews AWKWARD For Fourth Season

MTV announced today the the Season 4 pick-up of MTV's hit scripted series, AWKWARD, with new show runners.

Chris Alberghini and Mike Chessler (90210, CASHMERE MAFIA) will now serve as Executive Producers of the popular scripted comedy.

The second half of Season 3 of AWKWARD will premiere in October, with Season 4 running in 2014.

AWKWARD was created by Lauren Iungerich. The series stars Ashley Rickards as Jenna, Beau Mirchoff as Matty, Molly Tarlov as Sadie, Jillian Rose Reed as Tamara, Brett Davern as Jake, Nikki DeLoach as Lacey, Desi Lydic as Valerie, Jessica Lu as Ming, Mike Faiola as Kevin and Greer Grammer as Lissa.

MTV Announces TEEN WOLF Winter Season Premiere Set for January 6, 2014


On Thursday MTV announced to a packed room of fans at Comic-Con International in San Diego that the winter season of TEEN WOLF will premiere on Monday, January 6, 2014 and unveiled an exclusive first-look at the trailer for the second half of the current season. The winter season will feature 12 all-new episodes.

But just how much of a stir is Locklear's character going to create?

From the looks of this exclusive clip from the episode airing next Wednesday, June 26 -- in which she's caught in a lip lock with Bash's mother (played by Jane Seymour) -- it appears Franklin and Bash's world will quite possibly never be the same again!
