Lisa Hackner, who joined ABC in late 2013 as executive vice president, Daytime & Syndicated Programs, ABC Entertainment, has been let go, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Hackner's development team is also out. Hackner's exit comes on the heels of the cancellation of Tyra Banks’ failed talk show FABLife after one season.Hackner's role included all-new development, as well as the oversight of General Hospital, The Chew and syndication, which includes Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. She also oversaw the development of all non-scripted, short-form original programs for ABC daytime and the re-launch of the ABC App.
She was largely responsible for recruiting Banks back to daytime, and she helped to spearhead an initial shake-up on The View that saw the exit of longtime producer Bill Geddie and the return of Rosie O’Donnell to the show in the fall of 2014.
Lisa Hackner has been named Executive VP of daytime and syndicated programming at ABC Entertainment Group, overseeing first-run development and production. Hackner will report to Paul Lee, president of ABC Entertainment Group.
