Linsey Godfrey Joins 'Days of our Lives' as Sarah Horton

Linsey Godfrey has joined the cast of Days of our Lives as Sarah Horton.

Maggie Horton (Suzanne Rogers) gave birth to Sarah in December 1981. She agreed to be the surrogate mother for an anonymous donor who turned to be Evan Whyland (Lane Davies). When Sarah was a teenager, it was revealed that Neil Curtis (Joseph Gallison) was actually her father.

Over a nine year period, Sarah was played by Colin Lewis, Anthony Seaward, Katie Krell, Lisa Brinegar, Shauna Lane-Block, Aimee Brooks and Alli Brown. The character has not been seen since 1991.

Godfrey was thrilled the news of her casting was revealed, and on her birthday!

"I'm such a lucky birthday girl!!" she wrote. "I’m so excited and honored to join the incredible cast of @nbcdays! Thank you Greggy for your kind words! I love to remind him that he chose me especially when I’m harassing him on set haha! @greg_vaughan ❤️"

Godfrey began taping in May and will first air in the fall. She is best known for her portrayal of Caroline Spencer on The Bold and the Beautiful, earning three Daytime Emmy Award nominations for her work.

Linsey Godfrey is Coming Back to 'The Bold and the Beautiful' as Caroline Spencer

Just two weeks after revealing she was not expecting to return CBS daytime drama The Bold and the Beautiful, actress Linsey Godfrey revealed on Instagram today that she is back as Caroline Spencer.

"Bum buuummm buuuuuuummmmmm... Caroline is back.. stay tuned 😉," Godfrey wrote.

The circumstances have certainly changed since earlier in the month.

"It's with a heavy heart that I say Caroline isn't coming back in the near future," Godfrey recently revealed to Soap Opera Digest. "I really enjoyed my time over at Bold, and I'm so grateful for the opportunities that being on the show gave me, and for the family that I made over there, and they will always be my family. I'm grateful for the time that I got to play Caroline."

We Love Soaps will post updates as we find out more about Caroline's upcoming return.

Linsey Godfrey Not Returning to 'The Bold and the Beautiful' as Caroline Spencer

CBS daytime drama The Bold and the Beautiful has seen the last of Caroline Spencer, at least for now. Actress Linsey Godfrey, who hasn’t been seen on B&B since October, told Soap Opera Digest that she has no upcoming dates scheduled with the soap.

"It's with a heavy heart that I say Caroline isn't coming back in the near future," Godfrey told the magazine. "I really enjoyed my time over at Bold, and I'm so grateful for the opportunities that being on the show gave me, and for the family that I made over there, and they will always be my family. I'm grateful for the time that I got to play Caroline."

The actress thanked fans who have inquired about her status with the world's most watched soap opera.

"I want to thank everybody that’s been a fan of mine and I hope that everybody will continue to support me," she said. "I appreciate everybody's patience in waiting to find out what's going on. I hope to have everybody’s continued support. I got to go to work with people who I really, really loved and who I really, really admired and got to do what I love to do. I was really proud of the work we did, and I was really proud of the stories that we told. I look back at BOLD with a lot of love and a lot of happiness and a lot of feelings of gratitude. I was just super-happy."

Godfrey is currently auditioning for potential new projects.
