Lindsey Morgan Leaving GENERAL HOSPITAL

Lindsey Morgan announced today on her Facebook page that she would be leaving GENERAL HOSPITAL and the role of Kristina Corinthos Davis.
It is with a heavy heart I have to announce that my time at Port Charles has come to an end. I'm not sure where Kristina is headed next but it was a beyond amazing opportunity to portray her... be part of the Davis Girls... have the Corinthos' passion and temper run though my veins and to witness history being made on this momentous show! I learned so much and am so grateful for the friendships I've made and experiences I've had. GH will always have a special place in my heart and I cannot thank y'all enough for tuning in loyally to watch me live my dream. But more importantly, Thank y'all for your endless love, letters, support, encouragement, kind words, even the little hello's or a sweet smiley face that love kept me going when I had difficulty navigating through Kristina's and my own journey this past year. Whenever I felt lost, I never truly felt alone and for that, I am eternally gratefully. Thank you for your generosity. Thank you for your love. Thank you. Now keep watching GH! The Nurses' Ball is mere days away!
A final airdate for Morgan has not been announced.

WLS Interview Archive: Lindsey Morgan

Actress Lindsey Morgan plays the role of Kristina Corinthos Davis, daughter to Port Charles crime boss Sonny Corinthos and lawyer Alexis Davis, on GENERAL HOSPITAL. Kristina returned home in May 2012 with vengeance, having learned that there was much more to her admission to Yale than she originally thought.

Prior to her role on GENERAL HOSPITAL, Morgan was earning big laughs with appearances on ABC’s comedy HAPPY ENDINGS, and on the wildly popular CBS sitcom, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER.

This half-Latina, half-Irish, southern girl from Houston, Texas, began her career in college but quickly opted out to head West and chase her acting dream. It didn’t take long for Hollywood to take notice, landing the leading role in MTV’s original film, disCONNECTED; and a supporting role in indie film DETENTION, starring Josh Hutcherson and Dane Cook.

We Love Soaps spoke to Morgan following her GH debut for a special two-part interview:

Part 1 - Morgan filled us in on her background, how she landed the role on GH, and what she feels are Kristina's motivations.

Part 1 - Morgan shared her thoughts on Kristina's quest for truth, GH whipping her into shape, and some revealing behind-the-scenes moments with Executive Producer Frank Valentini.

DAYTIME DIATRIBE: The Best & Worst of Wednesday's GENERAL HOSPITAL

Kristina on a rampage, Jason versus John, and Maxie's new marriage highlighted Wednesday's GENERAL HOSPITAL (May 30, 2012). Below is my best and worst, and a grade for the day.

THE BEST:
* Bradford Anderson continues to shine as poor Spinelli deals with the fallout of Maxie's marriage to Matt. When he tears up, I tear up. Kudos to Jen Lilley as well. #Maxie trended during the East Coast airing of GH. (Note: It is the #YearOfTheSoap)

DAYTIME DIATRIBE: The Best & Worst of Tuesday's GENERAL HOSPITAL

The return of Kristina, Liz helping Jason, and a major surprise from Maxie highlighted Tuesday's GENERAL HOSPITAL. Below is my best and worst, and a grade for the day.

THE BEST:
* Lindsey Morgan seems like a terrific actress, stepping into the role of Kristina. She held her own with powerhouses Maurice Benard and Nancy Lee Grahn. Actually, she commanded those scenes. If the character is written well, Morgan is going to thrive.

GENERAL HOSPITAL Recasts Kristina With Lindsey Morgan

TVLine is reporting that GENERAL HOSPITAL has cast Lindsey Morgan as Kristina Adela Corinthos Davis, and with the recast comes a new direction for the character.

Morgan will make her debut the week of May 21, when Sonny and Alexis’ daughter returns to Port Charles in not the best of moods, having learned that there was much more to her admission to Yale than she originally thought.

The most recent actress to play Kristina, Lexi Ainsworth, tweeted her reaction.

"Thank you guys for all your support, but I won't be reprising the role of Kristina," she wrote.
