CBS Announces Season Premiere Dates for Daytime Lineup


Last week, CBS announced season premiere dates for its daytime lineup, including The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful. Check out the announcement below.

CBS, the #1-rated network in daytime for 31 years, today announced season premiere dates for its entire Daytime Emmy Award-winning schedule for the 2018-2019 season. The full lineup was just recently honored with an industry-leading 20 Daytime Emmy Awards.

“CBS Daytime continues to deliver award-winning, fan favorite programming that has led the industry for more than 31 years. The lineup offers an unmatched blend of heart and humor in our talk and game shows and stunning storytelling in our daytime dramas, connecting our audience with compelling programming throughout the year,” said Angelica McDaniel, Executive Vice President, Daytime Programs and Syndicated Program Development, CBS Entertainment and CBS Television Distribution.

The Young and the Restless, the #1 daytime drama for 29 consecutive years, premieres Monday, Sept. 3. The Young and the Restless is averaging 4.75 million viewers. The series, which is entering its 46th season, is broadcast weekdays (12:30-1:30 PM, ET/11:30 AM-12:30 PM, PT) and is produced by Bell Dramatic Serial Company, in association with Sony Pictures Television. Mal Young is the executive producer.

The ninth season of the Daytime Emmy Award-winning talk show The Talk debuts Monday, Sept. 10, hosted by Julie Chen, Eve, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne and Sheryl Underwood. Currently, The Talk is averaging 2.53 million viewers. The series airs weekdays (2:00 PM, ET/1:00 PM, PT/CT). It is produced by CBS Television Studios. John Redmann and Sara Gilbert are executive producers.

The Bold and the Beautiful, the most-watched dramatic serial in the world, premieres Monday, Sept. 17 and will celebrate its 8,000th episode during its 32nd season. The Bold and the Beautiful is averaging 3.80 million viewers. The series is broadcast weekdays (1:30 PM-2:00 PM, ET/12:30-1:00 PM, PT). It is a Bell-Phillip Television production. Brad Bell is the executive producer.

Also kicking off on Sept. 17 are the Daytime Emmy Award-winning game shows The Price is Right, network television’s #1-rated daytime program hosted by Drew Carey, and the longest-running game show in television history, and Let's Make a Deal, which returns for its milestone 10th season.

Network television’s most-watched daytime program, entering in its 47th season, The Price is Right 1 is averaging 4.73 million viewers, while The Price is Right 2 is averaging 5.35 million viewers. The series is broadcast weekdays (11:00 AM-12:00 PM, ET/10:00-11:00 AM, PT). The series is produced by FremantleMedia North America. Mike Richards and Jennifer Mullin are executive producers.

Let's Make a Deal, with Daytime Emmy Award-winning host Wayne Brady, is averaging 3.04 million viewers, while Let's Make a Deal 2 is averaging 3.44 million viewers. The show is broadcast weekdays (check local listings). It is produced by FremantleMedia North America. Mike Richards, Dan Funk and Jennifer Mullin are executive producers.

CBS Daytime Marks 31 Consecutive Years at #1


CBS Daytime ended the full 52-week 2016-2017 broadcast year at #1 for the 31st consecutive year, one of the longest winning streaks in television history, which began in 1986. The Network’s daypart features a balance of dramas, game shows and talk, including network television’s #1 daytime program and longest-running game show The Price is Right, the #1 daytime drama The Young and the Restless, Daytime Emmy Award-winning The Talk, The Bold and the Beautiful and Let's Make a Deal.

The Network had the #1 overall show in viewers (The Price is Right) as well as both the #1 program in women 18-49 and women 25-54 (The Young and the Restless).

CBS Daytime’s 52-Week Full Broadcast Year Highlights

CBS Daytime finished the year first in viewers (3.90m), women 25-54 (1.1/08) and women 18-49 (0.7/06, tie).

CBS had the top five programs in viewers:
1. 5.40m The Price is Right 2
2. 4.84m The Young and the Restless
3. 4.72m The Price is Right 1
4. 3.85m The Bold and the Beautiful
5. 3.36m Let's Make a Deal 2

CBS had four of the top five programs in women 25-54:
1. 1.5 The Young and the Restless
2. 1.3 The Bold and the Beautiful
2. 1.3 The Price is Right 2
5. 1.1 The Price is Right 1

CBS had four of the top five programs in women 18-49:
1. 1.0 The Young and the Restless
2. 0.9 The Price is Right 2
3. 0.8 The Price is Right 1
3. 0.8 The Bold and the Beautiful

CBS Daytime programs reached 120.0 million viewers (who watched at least six minutes) and 59.3m women 18+, more than any other network.

CBS Daytime Programs Reached 117.6 Million Viewers Last Season

CBS Daytime ended the full 52-week 2015-2016 broadcast year at #1 for the 30th consecutive year, one of the longest winning streaks in television history, which began in 1986.

Highlighting the year were largest-ever audiences for The Talk and Let's Make a Deal, according to Nielsen most current ratings released last week for the full 2015-16 television year.

“This winning streak is an incredible source of pride for all of us at CBS,” said Angelica McDaniel, Executive Vice President, Daytime Programs, CBS Entertainment. “It speaks to three decades of great storytelling from the best creative artists in front of and behind the camera, and the amazing support from a very passionate and loyal fan base.”

CBS Daytime’s 52-Week Full Broadcast Year Highlights

* CBS Daytime averaged 4.13 million viewers, its largest audience since the 2006-07 broadcast year.

* The Talk averaged 2.70 million viewers, up +4% over last year and its most watched season in its six-year history.

Let's Make a Deal 1 (3.29m, up +1%) earned a record audience for any season while Let's Make a Deal 2 (3.55m, even with year ago) matched its record audience from last season. Let's Make a Deal 1 (0.9) and Let's Make a Deal 2 (1.0) both matched its best women 25-54 ratings.

The Price is Right 1 averaged 4.97m, up +3% from last year and its most watched season since 2003-04. The Price is Right 2, daytime’s most-watched program, averaged 5.70m, up +2% from a year ago and its most watched season since 2006-07.

* The Young and the Restless remained daytime’s most watched drama (5.20m) and highest rated in women 25-54 (1.8) and women 18-49 (1.2).

* The Bold and the Beautiful ranked second among daytime dramas in viewers (3.96m) and women 25-54 (1.5).

CBS Daytime programs reached 117.6 million viewers (who watched at least six minutes) and 57.4 million women 18+, more than any other network. The Price is Right 2 (70.9m) and The Price is Right 1 (66.5m) led all daytime programs.

Ratings: 'The Bold and the Beautiful' Hits Six-Month High

Daytime programs on CBS notched record high ratings during the final week of 2015, led by The Bold and the Beautiful which delivered its largest average weekly audience since February 2007, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week of December 28-January 1, 2016.

The Bold and the Beautiful averaged 4.22 million viewers, 1.6/08 in women 25-54, its best delivery in the demographic since the week ending June 19, 2015 and 1.0/06 in women 18-49, its best delivery in the demographic since the week ending November 13, 2015.

The Price is Right 1 (6.03m) and The Price is Right 2 (6.95m) both were best viewer delivering since the week ending Jan. 31, 2014. Among women 18-49, The Price is Right 1 averaged 1.1/07, its best delivery in the demographic since the week ending Jan. 24, 2014, while The Price is Right 2 had its best women 18-49 rating since February 7, 2014, averaging 1.3/08.

Let's Make a Dead 1 (3.54m) and Let's Make a Dead 2 (4.16m) both marked highest average weekly ratings since the week ending February 20, 2015.

CBS Daytime Finishes 2014-2015 TV Season at #1 for 29th Straight Year

CBS Daytime continues to dominate the broadcast network ratings.
CBS Daytime ended the 2014-2015 broadcast year number one for the 29th consecutive year with The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless delivering their biggest audiences in years. Let's Make a Deal finished with its largest audience ever, while The Talk topped The View in women 25-54 for the first time, according to Nielsen most current ratings for the 2014-2015 television year.

Highlights of the season from CBS:

* The Bold and the Beautiful averaged 3.94 million viewers, up +2% and the daytime drama's largest audience since the 2005-06 television year.
* The Young and the Restless delivered 5.21M, a +1% increase from a year ago and its largest audience since the 2009-10 television year.
* Let's Made a Deal 1 (first half hour) delivered a series best 3.06M with Let's Made a Deal 2 also posting an all-time high audience of 3.54M, both up +4% from a year ago.
* The Talk topped The View for the first time in women 25-54 (1.0/06 vs. 0.9/06) and tied for the first time in women 18-49 (0.7/05) while averaging 2.60M.
* The Price is Right 2 (second half hour) remained daytime's #1 program averaging 5.58 million viewers.

Ratings: 'The Young and the Restless' and 'The Bold and the Beautiful' Up Week-to-Week

CBS's entire daytime lineup posted week-to-week growth in viewers and key women demographics, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week of April 6.

* The Young and the Restless: Up +7% in viewers (5.03m from 4.70m), +5% in women 25-54 (2.0/13 from 1.9/12) and +8% in women 18-49 (1.4/10 from 1.3/10).

* The Bold and the Beautiful: Up +5% in viewers (3.84m from 3.67m).

* Let's Make Deal 1: Up +6% in viewers (3.26m from 3.09m) and +11% in women 25-54 (1.0/07 from 0.9/06).

* Let's Make Deal 2: Up 4% in viewers (3.68m from 3.55m) and +14% in women 18-49 (0.8/06 from 0.7/06).

* The Price is Right 1: Up 5% in viewers (5.08m from 4.85m), +8% in women 25-54 (1.3/09 from 1.2/08) and +11% in women 18-49 (1.0/07 from 0.9/07),

* The Price is Right 2: Up +5% in viewers (5.83m from 5.57m), +7% in women 25-54 (1.5/10 from 1.4/10) and +10% in women 18-49 (1.1/08 from 1.0/08).

* The Talk: Up +4% in viewers (2.66m from 2.55m) and +11% in women 25-54 (1.0/06 from 0.9/06).

Beginning Monday, April 20, cast and crew from The Talk, The Bold and the Beautiful, Let's Make Deal, The Young and the Restless and The Price is Right will live-tweet every weekday, through Friday, April 24, leading up to daytime’s biggest night on Sunday, April 26.

The Talk hosts Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Aisha Tyler and Sheryl Underwood will kick off the Twitter event with a live group chat on Monday, April 20. Actors Linsey Godfrey, Scott Clifton and Jacob Young (B&B), Keyboardist Cat Gray and Director Lenn Goodside (LMAD), Actresses Gina Tognoni and Amelia Heinle (Y&R), and Executive Producer Mike Richards (TPIR) will participate in chats throughout the week (see below for full schedule).

CBS Daytime Posts Year-To-Year-Premiere Week Growth - All Shows Post Gains

CBS's top-rated daytime lineup posted year-to-year premiere week growth in viewers and women 25-54, as all of the Network's daytime programs notched increases, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending September 27.

RATINGS: Every CBS Daytime Show Posts Week-to-Week Gains in Viewers & Women 25-54

THE TALK delivered its largest audience in more than four months, while all of CBS's daytime programs posted week-to-week growth in viewers and women 25-54, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending June 14.

THE TALK averaged 2.52 million viewers, its largest audience since the week of Feb. 4 when it delivered 2.54 million viewers. THE TALK averaged 1.1/07 in women 25-54, up +10% from last week.

CBS: All Daytime Shows Finish The Season With Year-To-Year Growth In Viewers

THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL, LET'S MAKE A DEAL, THE PRICE IS RIGHT and THE TALK all finished the 2012-2013 season and May sweep with year-to-year growth in viewers.

Compared to last season in viewers, LET'S MAKE A DEAL 1 was up +14% (2.69m from 2.36m), LET'S MAKE A DEAL 2 was up +13% (3.11m from 2.76m), THE PRICE IS RIGHT 1 was up +5% (4.48m from 4.27m), THE PRICE IS RIGHT 2 was also up +5% (5.33m from 5.08m), THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL posted an +8% gain (3.51m from 3.25m), THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS was up +0.5% (4.82m from 4.80m) while THE TALK posted growth of +10% (2.40m from 2.18m), according to Nielsen most current ratings.
