Eva Longoria
Is Telenovela based on Eva Longoria's soap opera experience?
Longoria says that Telenovela, airing Monday nights on NBC, draws from her time on The Young and the Restless. But she connects with her character, Ana Sofia, in other ways too. “As a Mexican-American, I didn’t grow up speaking Spanish, so I was kind of shunned by my community,” says the Desperate Housewives alum. “Then in the American community, they were like, ‘Oh, you’re the Mexican,’ so I really never fit anywhere. And that’s exactly how Ana Sofia feels.”

Three seasons later, Lewis and his Bengals host Pittsburgh on Saturday as the coach looks to avoid an NFL-record seventh straight postseason defeat.

"I hope he doesn't go 12 more years before he wins a playoff game," Lucci said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press, and she wasn't joking. "I certainly hope the best for him. I'm sure he has a similar feeling to what I had - how do you do your work better and grow?"

Don Stewart
A look back at the life of Guiding Light alum Don Stewart, who passed away 10 years ago today
Jerry verDorn played Ross Marler on Guiding Light for more than 20 years, beginning in March 1979. He remembers Don showing kindness to him when he was a newcomer on the show.

“I joined Guiding Light in 1979 and Don had been there for 10 years or more,” verDorn said. “He was very kind to me, a young guy new to New York, and we had many scenes together from 1979 to 1984. We also had much in common as I, too, was a Midwesterner from both Dakotas and Minnesota. He was a terrific guy and wildly popular on the show.”

Tina Sloan played Lillian Raines, whose character was a love interest for Mike Bauer shortly before Stewart left the show in 1984.

“He was lovely to work with,” Sloan recalled. “He cared about appearances. He always took care of his looks. He always was prepared for scenes.”

While on Guiding Light, Don Stewart met his future wife, Susan.

“Don and I met in New York on a blind date with a Navy buddy of his shortly after he joined Guiding Light” she said. “I remember thinking I never heard this line before, ‘I’m an actor on Guiding Light.’ I am a nurse and the next day I asked a patient what she was watching and it turned out to be Guiding Light. There he was. That night I called him to apologize if I was rude and he asked me to dinner — and that was it.”

Lawrence Saint-Victor Wrote Friday's Episode of 'The Bold and the Beautiful'

Lawrence Saint-Victor has written two episodes of B&B so far.
Lawrence Saint-Victor, who stars as Carter Walton on The Bold and the Beautiful, has written an episode of the CBS daytime drama which will air on Friday, January 16.

"It's common for actors to go into Brad's [Bell, executive producer/head writer] office and talk about where their characters are going, and during one of those meetings, Brad asked if I ever wanted to write an episode," Saint-Victor reveals to Soap Opera Digest.

"The episode deals with the aftermath of what has been seen: Maya follows up with Carter about their last conversation regarding Rick," Saint-Victor says. "That will be interesting [laughs]! We also see Caroline and Ridge contemplate if they’re ready to move forward together and Maya's baby sister, Nicole [Reign Edwards], makes her introduction. It was fun, but it was a little scary, too!"

WATCH: First Two Episodes of ROOM 8, THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL's Web Series

What happens when two attractive young people - an unemployed business analyst and a budding comic-book artist - unknowingly rent the same apartment, the only one that each could find? They reluctantly decide to move in together, and that's when the sparks fly as opposite worlds collide, in ROOM 8, the new online series debuting today, starring two characters (Carter Walton and Maya Avant) from the CBS daytime soap opera THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL.

Lawrence Saint-Victor plays Carter and Karla Mosley is Maya on THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL. Their characters star in a web series on B&B and ROOM 8 is that web series within a soap come to life. CBS did this with THE LAW on GUIDING LIGHT in 2006-2007. The network also used characters from THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS and AS THE WORLD TURNS in a web series, L.A. DIARIES, in 2007 but that series was never mentioned on the soaps.

From THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL To The Web: ROOM 8 To Become a Real Web Series

CBS is bringing THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL's fictional web series, ROOM 8, to life as a real online series, according to TV Guide Magazine. ROOM 8 will premiere on August 8 at Room8TheSeries.com.

The eight-episode project will star B&B's Karla Mosley (Maya) and Lawrence Saint-Victor (Carter), once again in the roles of Lance and Scarlett.

"This is Rafael's original vision for Room 8 — the one that would have been filmed if Caroline Spencer hadn't gotten involved and started changing it up to make Rick jealous," says Saint-Victor, who is writing and producing the online version with Mosley..

Saint-Victor and Mosley created and starred in their own online series, WED-LOCKED, in 2009, earning an Indie Soap Award nomination for their work.

ROOM 8 joins a list of web series based on soap arcs including L.A. DIARIES (starring Y&R's Amber and ATWT's Alison) in 2007, and THE LAW (starring GUIDING LIGHT's Frank, Gus, Marina and Mallet) in 2006-2007.

GUIDING LIGHT Alums Karla Mosley & Lawrence Saint-Victor Join THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL

Lawrence Saint-Victor & Karla Mosley at the

GUIDING LIGHT alums Karla Mosley and Lawrence Saint-Victor are both joining the cast of THE BOLD AND THE BEAUITFUL, according to TV Guide Magazine. While the actors played a married couple, Christina and Remy Boudreau on GL, their new characters are not connected, and the casting of both is a coincidence.

Saint-Victor hits Jan. 29 playing a not-yet-named character who is the adoptive brother of Dayzee's husband Marcus (Texas Battle). Both are contract roles.
