Kirsten Storms Leaving 'General Hospital' as Maxie Jones Temporarily, Being Replaced by 'Days of our Lives' Star Molly Burnett

Molly Burnett will temporarily replace Kirsten Storms as Maxie on GH.

Kirsten Storms is taking a temporarily leave of absence from ABC soap opera General Hospital, according to Daytime Confidential's Jamey Giddens. While Storms is off the show, the role of Maxie Jones will be played by Days of our Lives alum Molly Burnett (Melanie Jonas).

Burnett will first air in July.

This is not the first time Storms has taken a leave from GH. Maxie was temporarily played by Jen Lilley (now Days' Theresa) from September 2011 to August 2012.

Zachary Garred Joins GENERAL HOSPITAL as Levi

Zachary Garred has joined the cast of GENERAL HOSPITAL. He will play as free spirit Levi, who crosses paths with Maxie Jones when Kirsten Storms returns from maternity leave.

Garred's credits include FOREIGN EXCHANGE, OUT OF THE BLUE, ALL SAINTSS and Australian soap HOME AND AWAY.

On Tuesday afternoon, Storms asked her Twitter followers to follow Garred: "Tweeters! Follow our new #GH homie @ZJGarred ! (He's pretty funny)"

Garred's first air date is scheduled for April 3.
