Patrika Darbo & Anna Maria Horsford Will Host 12th Annual Indie Series Awards
Patrika Darbo and Anna Maria Horsford will host the 12th Annual Indie Series Awards on April 7, producers announced today.
Emmy-winning actress and four-time nominee Patrika Darbo is a veteran of over 35 years in film and television. She has guest starred on countless series including 9-1-1 Lonestar, The Big Bang Theory, The Middle, Devious Maids, Desperate Housewives, Dexter, Seinfeld, Roseanne and she was a series regular on the sit-com, Step by Step. She recently returned to the NBC daytime drama Days of our Lives in a role she originated in 1998.
As one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood, Emmy-nominated actress Anna Maria Horsford continues to inspire audiences through cinema, television and theater. Her career and influence span generations, bringing to life some of our favorite characters including Thelma Frye on Amen, Mrs. Jones in Friday, Friday After Next, Dee Baxter on The Wayans Brothers or Vivienne Avant in The Bold and Beautiful.
"I am thrilled to be hosting the wonderful ISAs once again and this time with my dear friend, Anna Maria Horsford,” Darbo said. “Hell hath no fury like two seasoned old dolls!”

12th Annual Indie Series Awards Nominees Include Brandon Beemer, Mike Manning, A Martinez
Nominees for the 12th Annual Indie Series Awards were revealed Wednesday during a special episode of Serial Scoop Now hosted by actor and entertainer Jo Weil.
Anacostia and The Bay led the pack with 15 nominations each. They are joined in the Best Drama Series category by Arthur, Capital Roar, For the Record, Incompleteness, My Pride and Purgatory.
The comedies were led by The Amazing Gayl Pile: Last Resort with 14 nominations. They are joined in the Best Comedy Series category by Aidy Kane (Really Wants You to Love Him), Cady Did, Cam_Girlfriend, Claire-ity, The Communist's Daughter, Reality Sets In and Searching for Sylvie.

Sean Kanan, Carolyn Hennesy, Patrika Darbo Among Indie Series Awards Winners

The winners of the 11th Annual Indie Series Awards were revealed on Thursday, June 18 in a virtual ceremony hosted by Sean Kanan. The ISAs celebrate the best in independently produced scripted entertainment created for the Web.
Top honors went to After Forever and Indoor Boys, named best drama and best comedy series of the year.
Drama series acting honors went to Sean Kanan (Studio City), Chauntae Pink (Poz Roz), Derrell Whitt (A Place Called Hollywood), Patrika Darbo (Studio City) Carolyn Hennesy (Studio City), A Martinez (The Bay) and Meg Foster (A Place Called Hollywood).
Comedy winners included Alex Wyse (Indoor Boys), Lee Garlington (Before We Go), Wesley Taylor (Indoor Boys), Carolee Carmello (Indoor Boys), Frankie Grande (Indoor Boys) and Jonée B Shady (Poor Us).
Since 2009, the Indie Series Award has honored the most creative and progressive talent in independent web series. In all, 33 series were nominated from around the globe.

11th Annual Indie Series Awards Nominations

The 11th Annual Indie Series Awards nominations in 28 categories were revealed on Wednesday via Twitter. The ISAs celebrate the best in independently produced entertainment created for the Web.
Indoor Boys led all series with 15 total nominations. The show is joined in the Best Comedy Series category by Before We Go, FabUless, F#CKING 40, La règle de (3), The Ninth, Poor Us and Three Year Letterman.
Poz Roz and Studio City earned 12 nominations apiece to lead the dramas. They are joined in the Best Drama Series field by After Forever, The Bay, Bronx SIU, People Like Us, A Place Called Hollywood and Save Me.
In all, there are 33 nominated series from around the globe. Crystal trophies will be presented to the winners during a gala ceremony on April 1 at The Colony Theatre in Burbank, California. The two-day celebration includes a launch party, red carpet reception, press walk, presentation ceremony and official after party.
Since 2009, the Indie Series Award has honored the most creative and progressive talent in independent web series.

Indie Series Award Winners Include 'Giants', 'Indoor Boys', 'The Rich and the Ruthless', 'Only Children' & 'After Forever'

The winners of the 10th Annual Indie Series Awards were announced in a ceremony on Wednesday, April 3, hosted by Eric Martsolf, Kevin Spirtas and Patrika Darbo, all former hosts who returned. Not announced prior to the ceremony, one by one they took the stage declaring they were the best former host and should, obviously, host the milestone 10th anniversary celebration.
Top honors went to Giants and Indoor Boys, named best drama and best comedy series of the year. Giants won awards in a record-breaking seven categories, including best writing (J. August Richards, lead actor (James Bland), lead actress (Vanessa Baden Kelly), supporting actress (Tanee McCall), score (Austin Wintory) and original song ("More Love" by Kareem James and Ashly Williams). Indoor Boys took home four ISAs, including best writing (Wesley Taylor and Alex Wyse), guest actress in a comedy (Krysta Rodriguez) and guest actor in a comedy (Michael Kostroff).
Other acting winners included Alex Wyse (Only Children), Lou Diamond Phillips (Conversations in L.A.), Lauren B. Martin (Anacostia), Paul Soles (My 90-Year-Old Roommate), Alesha Renee (The Rich and the Ruthless), Ryan Wesen (190 Lorimer) and Inessa Frantowski (The Amazing Gayl Pile: Apocolypse Soonish).
The Witching Hour took home the prize for best non-fiction series.
Since 2009, the Indie Series Award has honored the most creative and progressive talent in independent web series. The ceremony was hosted by Emmy winners Patrika Darbo and Emmy Martsolf, and Emmy nominee Kevin Spirtas, a previous ISA winner who leads the all-star cast of best drama ensemble winner After Forever. All three previously hosted and returned as part of the 10th annual celebration, "A Decade of Indie Excellence."
In all, 45 series were nominated from around the globe, including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and India.

Patrika Darbo, Kevin Spirtas, Alex Wyse Among 10th Annual Indie Series Awards Presenters

The first round of presenters for the 10th Annual Indie Series Awards was announced earlier today. To help honor the incredible slate of 2019 nominees, 13 stars were added to the list of presenters. Nikki Coble, Anne Marie Cummings, Patrika Darbo, Inessa Frantowski, Adam Henry Garcia, Marem Hassler, Tanee McCall, Joy McElveen, Brian Michael, Kevin Spirtas, Wesley Taylor, Wayne Wilcox and Alex Wyse will be taking the ISAs stage as presenters.
In addition, musical performances from Best Original Song nominees Drew Anthuny, Colin Deane, Justin Leakey and Ashly Williams were also announced.
The producers will continue to announce talent joining the show in the coming weeks.
The 10th Annual Indie Series Awards will be held at The Colony Theatre in Burbank on Wednesday, April 3 at 8 p.m. PT/11 p.m. ET.

Giants led all series with 19 total nominations, followed by After Forever with 14. Those shows will compete in the Best Drama Series category with Conversations in L.A., In Absentia, The New 30, Only Children, Riley Parra and What's Your Status.
Indoor Boys led all comedies with 13 nominations. The series is joined in the Best Comedy Series field by 190 Lorimer, #Adulting, The Amazing Gayl Pile: Apocalypse Soonish, Does It Fart, My 90-Year-Old Roommate, The Rich and the Ruthless and #Washed.
Competing for Best Non-Fiction Series are Girl Mess, The No-Name Cinema Society, The Vivid Project, What The IVF and The Witching Hour.

Arianne Zucker Returning to 'Days of our Lives' This Fall

Since leaving Days, Zucker has made her way to primtime, filming several TV movies including Web Cam Girls, Mommy Be Mine and Blind at 17.
She also appeared in the first season of digital drama Ladies of the Lake, winning an Indie Series Award in April for her portrayal of Lisa Roth. Based on the Ken Corday novel of the same name, Ladies of the Lake was executive produced by Corday, Michael Caruso and Zucker's ex-husband and former co-star, Kyle Lowder, who will also be returning to Days this year. Zucker returns for Season 2 of the series, Ladies of the Lake: Return to Avalon, when it premieres June 19 on Amazon.

9th Annual Indie Series Awards: Complete List of Winners

Top honors went to Giants and How to Buy a Baby, named best drama and best comedy series of the year. Vintage America with Ginger took home the first ever prize for best non-fiction series. Ladies of the Lake led all series with four wins.
Since 2009, the Indie Series Award has honored the most creative and progressive talent in independent web series. The inspirational ceremony was hosted by Emmy winner Patrika Darbo, who took home her first individual ISA for her work in comedy hit Indoor Boys.
A number of soap opera stars who took home ISAs this year, including Arianna Zucker, Ian Buchanan, Kyle Lowder, Alex Wyse and Victoria Rowell (as part of the winning ensemble from The Rich and the Ruthless). Though he didn't take home an ISA for either of his two Ladies of the Lake musical nominations, Days of our Lives executive producer was thanked and applauded by winners and presenters alike throughout the evening. Other past and present soap opera nominees included Jacklyn Zeman, Maeve Quinlan, Jade Harlow, Brandon Beemer, Eric Nelsen, Jennifer Bassey, Chad Duell, along with numerous others as part of nominated ensembles.
In all, 46 series were nominated from around the globe: United States, Canada, Australia, Germany, Singapore and Uruguay.

Patrika Darbo Revealed as Host of 9th Annual Indie Series Awards

The Bold and the Beautiful star Patrika Darbo will host the 9th Annual Indie Series Awards ceremony on April 4 at The Colony Theatre in Burbank. CA.
At this year's ISAs, Darbo is nominated for her work in three separate web series: Indoor Boys, The Bay and Ladies of the Lake. In an Indie Series Awards first, she will compete against herself in the Best Guest Actress - Drama category.
The ISAs celebrate the best in independently produced entertainment created for the Web.
Ladies of the Lake leads all series with 18 total nominations, followed by 16 for The Bay. Those shows will compete in the Best Drama Series category with Anacostia, Giants, L.A. Macabre, Riley Parra, Running With Violet and Teenagers.
Filth City leads all comedies with 12 nominations. The series is joined in the Best Comedy Series field by 190 Lorimer, The Amazing Hoolister Park, Bad Timing, Dear Mankind, How to Buy a Baby, Indoor Boys and ThreadBare.
Darbo is a 2016 Primetime Emmy winner as outstanding actress in a short form series for her work on the Indie Series Award winning digital comedy Acting Dead.
Darbo currently stars on the CBS daytime drama The Bold and The Beautiful, recently appeared in the Lifetime film Cradle Swapping, and completed a guest voice role on American Dad. Over the years, she has appeared in countless other series including The Big Bang Theory, The Middle, Devious Maids, Desperate Housewives, Dexter, and was a series regular on the sitcom Step By Step. She received a Daytime Emmy nomination for her work on the iconic NBC soap opera Days of our Lives.

Soap Stars React to Indie Series Awards Nominations

The Bold and the Beautiful's Patrika Darbo (Shirley Spectra) is nominated three times for her work on in three different web series. She will be competing against herself in the best guest actress in a drama category for her work in both Ladies of the Lake and The Bay. She is also a nominee on the comedy side for her hilarious performance on Indoor Boys, which stars Alex Wyse (B&B's Saul).

Nominees Revealed for 9th Annual Indie Series Awards: 'Ladies of the Lake' & 'The Bay' Lead the Pack

The nominations for the 9th Annual Indie Series Awards were revealed on Wednesday, January 31. Celebrating the best in independently produced entertainment created for the Web, ISAs nominees were announced in 30 categories.
Ladies of the Lake led all series with 18 total nominations, followed by The Bay with 16. Those shows will compete in the Best Drama Series category with Anacostia, Giants, L.A. Macabre, Riley Parra, Running With Violet and Teenagers.
Filth City led all comedies with 12 nominations. The series is joined in the Best Comedy Series field by 190 Lorimer, The Amazing Hoolister Park, Bad Timing, Dear Mankind, How to Buy a Baby, Indoor Boys and ThreadBare.

In all, there are 46 nominated series from around the globe: United States, Canada, Australia, Germany, Singapore and Uruguay. Crystal trophies will be presented to the winners during a gala ceremony on April 4 at The Colony Theatre in Los Angeles. The two-day celebration includes a launch party, red carpet reception, press walk, presentation ceremony and official after party.
Since 2009, the Indie Series Award has honored the most creative and progressive talent in independent web series.
The Annual Indie Series Awards is an initiative to elevate the entire indie series genre, organized by the nonprofit Indie Series Network. All proceeds from entry fees, ticket sales, program ads, etc. are reinvested in the production of the event. ISA9 is produced by We Love Soaps LLC (Crown Heights, Brooklyn) in cooperation with the Indie Series Network (IndieSeriesNetwork.org) and media partner Serial Scoop.

Kit Williamson & John Halbach to Host Indie Series Awards

"We are so excited to be hosting the ISAs," said Williamson and Halbach. "It's a great event for content creators to come together and celebrate their work over the last year and we are honored to welcome everyone to a very special night."
The ISAs celebrate the best in independently produced scripted entertainment created for the Web. In total, 48 series from around the world are nominated in 29 categories.
John Halbach and Kit Williamson are actors, internet entrepreneurs and husbands, best known as the producers and stars of the Emmy-nominated LGBT web series EastSiders. The series is now available on Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and Fullscreen, and distributed on DVD and VOD by Wolfe Video. John and Kit both began their careers acting on Broadway before turning their sights to the web, and are now documenting their adventures as newlyweds with an ongoing travel series for Out Magazine.
Kit Williamson played the role of Ed Gifford on the final two seasons of Mad Men and can currently be seen alongside Chris Hardwick in a national campaign for Comcast Xfinity. In addition to writing, directing and starring in EastSiders, Kit has sold pilots to CBS and Super Deluxe. He is also a travel writer and gay rights activist who has written for The Advocate, Out Magazine, Out Traveler, The Huffington Post Queer Voices, The Fight Magazine, Indiewire and The Jackson Free Press. He is also the co-founder of Brooklyn Web Fest and Content Creator Conference, now in its third year.
John Halbach is an actor, producer and social media expert with an advertising agency background, whose clients have included: Fun Home, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Disney on Ice, Disney Live, Marvel Universe Live, Rituals Skincare, Chef Chris Santos, The Empire Hotel, Fusion TV and The History Channel.
John and Kit are the co-owners of Go Team Entertainment, a production company and digital strategy agency whose clients include HarperColins, MGM Resorts, Key West Tourism, Out Magazine/Here Media, AHF, Freixenet, Audi, Parke and Ronen and numerous Broadway shows and digital series.
The couple resides in Silver Lake with their cat Albee, and you can follow them at @kitwilliamson and @johnhalbach. Al doesn’t have his own Instagram, but he is heavily featured on his dad’s accounts, much to his annoyance.
