ABC pulls HAPPY TOWN, will burn off in summer
After this week, ABC is pulling HAPPY TOWN from its schedule for the rest of the month/season. The decision comes after two episodes have aired of the Wednesday night show, which dropped 29% for its second week to a decidedly unhappy 1.2 adult demo rating. ABC will air another episode Wednesday night, then burn off the remaining five episodes starting June 2.

Mediocre ratings for premiere of HAPPY TOWN
The debut of ABC’s HAPPY TOWN — a serialized drama about a small Minnesota town that’s haunted by a series of unsolved kidnappings — wasn’t worth smiling about: It posted ABC’s lowest-rated series premiere of the season, down 43 percent from EASTWICK’s debut in the time period last fall. The drama only attracted 5.2 million viewers and a 1.7 rating/5 share among adults 18-49.

HAPPY TOWN is not set to premiere on ABC until April 28 at 10 p.m. ET but the network has released the first 14 minutes of the first episode for viewing. The show stars former AS THE WORLD TURNS actor Steven Weber and Stephen Schnetzer's son, Ben Schnetzer. Watch the video below.

Haplin, Minnesota, is known as "Happy Town" on the new ABC drama HAPPY TOWN, premiering on Wednesday, April 28. But the quiet little community is actually quite mysteriously spooky and a killer called The Magic Man is making people disappear.

HAPPY TOWN stars former AS THE WORLD TURNS actor Steven Weber, and Ben Schnetzer, son of longtime ANOTHER WORLD favorite Stephen Schnetzer. Ben made his film debut in the independent film "Ben's Plan" in 2007, which also starred Stephen.
