Hallmark Movies & Mysteries hit a high note over the weekend with the Saturday, May 2nd premiere of Murder, She Baked: A Chocolate Chip Cookie Mystery marking the network's most-watched and highest-rated movie debut in network history, with a 1.6 HH rating and 1.1 million total viewers. The movie was also part of the network's most-watched week of all time. Additionally, Murder, She Baked: A Chocolate Chip Cookie Mystery becomes Hallmark Movies & Mysteries' most social movie premiere on Twitter, generating the highest unique audience of any new original in network history.

The film stars Daytime Emmy nominated actress and TV host Alison Sweeney (Sami, Days of our Lives), alongside Daytime Emmy nominated star Cameron Mathison (ex-Ryan, All My Children) and Barbara Niven (Peggy, Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove; ex-Liz, One Life to Live).

Preview: 'Murder, She Baked' Movie Starring Alison Sweeney, Cameron Mathison & Barbara Niven

Murder, She Baked: A Chocolate Chip Cookie Mystery premieres Saturday, May 2 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. The mouthwatering new mystery stars Daytime Emmy nominated actress and TV host Alison Sweeney (Days of our Lives, The Biggest Loser), alongside Daytime Emmy nominated star Cameron Mathison (All My Children) and Debbie Macomber’s Cedar Cove darling Barbara Niven.

The film centers on free spirit Hannah Swensen, an expert baker who becomes a culinary detective when her shop, the Cookie Jar, becomes the scene of a crime, just as she is caught in a romantic mystery of her own.

Alison Sweeney and Cameron Mathison to Star in 'Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder' for Hallmark Movies & Mysteries

Hallmark Movies & Mysteries has announced Alison Sweeney (ex-Sami, Days of our Lives) and Cameron Mathison (ex-Ryan, All My Children) are set to star in Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder (working title), an Original World Premiere Spring 2015. Based on the New York Times bestselling book, "Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder" by Joanne Fluke, the film will take viewers on a mouthwatering mystery that centers on Hannah Swensen, shop owner of the Cookie Jar where much of the town's gossip percolates along with the strong coffee. But when a mysterious murder occurs, Hannah turns into a culinary detective and finds herself trying to solve the crime while getting caught in an unexpected romantic mystery of her own.

Based on the book of short stories "My Gal Sunday" by New York Times bestselling author Mary Higgins Clark, the film centers around Sandra “Sunday” O'Brien-Parker (Blanchard), renowned attorney and private investigator and her newlywed husband and sleuthing partner, Henry Parker (Mathison), whose deep political ties and endearing love story put them at the center of intrigue and scandal. “My Gal Sunday,” is also a family affair for the "Queen of Suspense" Mary Higgins Clark as her daughter Carol and granddaughter Elizabeth co-star in the film.
