NEWS: LUCKY 7 Canceled; Susan Lucci Returning To HOT IN CLEVELAND; Dick Christie To BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL; Halle Berry To Topline New CBS Drama

LUCKY 7 canceled: Fall's first axed show
LUCKY 7 has won the Fall 2013 TV lotto to become the first canceled show.

The ABC drama was axed after only two episodes — and 12 days into the broadcast season — which is pretty fast in the era of heavy DVR playback, with networks typically wanting to wait at least three weeks to receive seven days of viewing data from Nielsen. But LUCKY 7 premiered to 4.4 million viewers and a lowly 1.3 adults 18-49 rating last week, making it ABC’s lowest-rated drama premiere in years despite the evening launching with mega-rated AGENTS OF S.H.I..E.L.D.

Halle Berry To Topline CBS Series EXTANT
After snagging one of the biggest commitments this season, a 13-episode straight to series order from CBS for next summer, the project has landed Oscar winner Halle Berry (ex-Debbie, KNOTS LANDING) as the lead in her first series regular role.

Shemar Moore: 'Ready For That Next Phase Of My Career'

In a surprisingly candid interview with BET.com, former THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS star Shemar Moore talks about his next move, the challenges he faced growing up biracial in Oakland and why "it's no accident" he's still single. Plus, he talks about his tabloid-heavy relationships with Toni Braxton and Halle Berry. Below are a few interview highlights:

BET.com: Have you started thinking about your next move?
Shemar Moore: To be honest, if it works out I have many good reasons to stay, but leaving would give me the one thing I haven't had in a long time, which is freedom. After eight years on YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS and eight years on CRIMINAL MINDS, I'm ready for that next phase of my career. I wanna chase down Denzel Washington, Jamie Foxx, Will Smith. I would love to start my film career. But it's all pending what the network decides it wants to do next.
