Following the success of CHICAGO FIRE last year, Emmy Award-winning producer Dick Wolf's idea to build a second franchise in Chicago has become a reality with the renewal of mid-season success CHICAGO P.D. Both shows share the same creators and producers making it easy for characters and storylines to occasionally crossover seamlessly from one show to the other. This will be the case on the upcoming Tuesday, April 29 episode of CHICAGO FIRE - a massive bomb explosion sends the city into chaos, which will conclude the following night, Wednesday, April 30, on CHICAGO P.D. where the police officers deal with the fallout from the tragedy and try to find who was responsible for the blast.

NEWS: B&B Casting New Role; Paul Rauch Was Trying To Bring Back GUIDING LIGHT; Robert Buckley Joins HART OF DIXIE; Apple; Netflix
B&B is seeking an actress to play the role of Alexandra Forrester. She will be a Caucasian female, age 19-21 and is described as "Beautiful. Well Bred. Very Upscale and comes from money."
TAINTED DREAMS star Grant Aleksander reveals Paul Rauch was trying to bring back GUIDING LIGHT
“Oddly enough, Paul was working on getting the show back on the air before he died,” reveals Aleksander. “He had gotten pretty far with that, he was talking to big network executives. P&G was interested. When you look at what’s going on in Stamford right now [where AMC and OLTL have been filming], I don’t think P&G will just sit on a creative property if there’s a profit to be made.”

The announcement was made by Jennifer Salke, president of NBC Entertainment.
“On the verge of our 2013 fall scheduling decisions, we’re pleased to renew five drama series that will be important to our new season line-up,” Salke said. “We’re proud and very appreciative of all of the actors, producers, writers and directors who work so hard to deliver such high-quality work week in and week out. These complex shows represent a broad range of genres and tones, and all of them stand out for us in a television landscape now filled with one-hour series. We’re especially pleased to be renewing REVOLUTION and CHICAGO FIRE — two first-season successes — and there will be more returning series announcements made in the next couple of weeks.”
