Eileen Colgan Dead at 80

Actress Eileen Colgan, best known for her portrayal of "Esther Roche" in Irish soap opera FAIR CITY, has died at age 80.

RTÉ head of drama Jane Gogan said Ms Colgan was “a great professional who will be sadly missed by those of us who were fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to know her and work with her”.

Maureen Toal Dead at 82

Irish actress Maureen Toal has died at age 82.

Best known for her role as Teasey McDaid in RTÉ's long-running soap GLENROE, Toal also had a long and distinguished theater career dating back to first joining the Abbey Theatre in 1946.

Toal, who was born in 1930 and was from Fairview in North Dublin, received an honorary doctorate from University College Dublin in 2010.

She died peacefully in her home in Sandycove August 24.

David Kelly Dead at 82

David Kelly, a TV and theater star for 50 years, has died following a short illness, friends said Monday. He was 82.

With such a long, varied and international career, it's hard to say how he will be best remembered, but a good guess is as the workshy builder O'Reilly in the 1970s British comedy "FAWLTY TOWERS," which probably gained him more international recognition than any other role.

NEWS: Mick Lally, Michael Riley, Final ATWT, Emmys Split?

Actor Mick Lally dies aged 64
Famous for his role as Miley Byrne in the Irish soap opera GLENROE, he recently voiced a character in the Oscar-winning animation The Secret of Kells. Lally play Miley Byrne on the soap for its entire 18 year run.

Radio Disney G.M. Michael Riley Tapped to Head ABC Family
Riley has been named President of ABC Family, succeeding Paul Lee, who was named ABC Entertainment Group President July 30. In this role, Riley will report directly to Anne Sweeney, co-chair, Disney Media Networks & president, Disney/ABC Television Group, who made the announcement.
