TOP THREE: Why GCB Must Be Saved; Lady Feminists, Unsolved Mysteries & Religious Realness

We love GCB, but last night, after only ten episodes, it's first season ended. A decision on whether or not we'll ever see another new episode could come any day now. Here's our top three reasons why ABC absolutely must bring their good Christians back.

1. Those Ladies!
With an ensemble cast of characters unprecedented in their celebration and exploitation of third-wave feminist power, GCB is chock full of strong, gorgeous, intimidating women who embrace femininity, even stereotypical femininity, in order to achieve. The three greatest champions in the show of this controversial cultural Jujutsu are probably Cricket Caruth-Reilly, Elizabeth "Gigi" Stopper and Carlene Cockburn.

Sunday Night Ratings: DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES Up, ONCE UPON A TIME, GCB Steady

The Sunday night Nielsen ratings are in.  Below is a roundup of May 6 ratings reports:

From THR:
A rising AMERICA'S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS, up half of a point, started the night with a 2.0 with 18-49-ers, followed by an even ONCE UPON A TIME at 3.0 and a buoyed DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, up three tenths of a point for a 2.8 as its series finale approaches. Bubble show GCB ended its freshman season even with a 1.8 in the demo.

NEWS ROUNDUP: Jen Lilley Wants Spixie, Sean Kanan Returns to B&B, TV Ratings Collapse

GENERAL HOSPITAL's Jen Lilley wants Maxie to be with Spinelli
Despite the complications of Maxie’s love triangle, there’s a clear frontrunner in Lilley’s eyes. “Ultimately, I really want Maxie to be with Spinelli,” she reveals. “He’s head over heels in love with her. He’s very selfless and relentless in his love for her.”

Unfortunately, Maxie could make a very common mistake by overlooking the good guy. “I think it’s a subconscious thing that girls do because we feel like we don’t deserve love.” Lilley went on to draw her characters experience to a real life example, explaining, “Maybe that’s part of what’s going on with Maxie. She thinks she doesn’t deserve something so good with Spinelli.”

One of the best moments during this week's hilarious GCB episode was the audition for the church musical using the gospel classic, "This Little Light Of Mine." Sunday Night Ratings: GCB Steady at 10, But Can't Match DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES at 9; GAME OF THRONES, MAD MEN Steady

The Sunday night Nielsen ratings are starting to come in. CBS was helped by the overrun of The Masters golf tournament (Bubba Watson won). ABC tried GCB out in an earlier time slot. Below is a roundup of the April 8 ratings reports we have so far.

From THR.com:
Repeats of AMERICA'S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS and ONCE UPON A TIME led into back-to-back episodes of GCB on ABC. The freshman series did not perform as strongly as DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES at 9 p.m., earning a 1.7 rating among adults 18-49, but held an even 1.9 rating in its usual 10 p.m. slot. The network averaged a 1.4 rating in the demo and 4.7 million viewers.

From Hitfix:
For the night, CBS averaged a 2.3 rating among adults 18-49, tops in the key demographic. NBC's 1.5 key demo rating was followed closely by ABC's 1.4 rating and the 1.3 rating for FOX.

From Media Life:
CBS finished first for the night among households with a 6.6 average overnight rating and an 11 share. NBC was second at 4.1/7, ABC third at 3.0/5, Univision and Fox tied for fourth at 1.6/3, and Telemundo sixth at 0.5/1.

From ABC:
"GCB" (9:00-10:00 p.m.)
At 9:00 p.m., coming out of a repeat "Once Upon a Time" (3.8 million and 1.0/3), a special airing of "GCB" (5.3 million and 1.7/4) surged over its lead-in by 1.5 million viewers and by 70% in Adults 18-49, boosting ABC to No. 2 in the hour in the key young adult sales demo (tying time-period regular "Celebrity Apprentice"). In addition, the ABC freshman drama ranked No. 1 in the hour with Women 18-49 (2.1/5 - tying CBS' "60 Minutes"/"Amazing Race" combo).

"GCB" (10:00-11:00 p.m.)
Building on its lead-in among Adults 18-49 (+12%), ABC's "GCB" ranked No 2 in its regular 10 o'clock time period, pacing 46% ahead its CBS competition ("The Good Wife" encore/"CSI: Miami" season finale = 1.9/5 vs. 1.3/4). "GCB" also earned second place in the hour across all key Women demos (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54).

* Although holiday TV usage levels were down in the hour week to week (-6% in AD18-49 = 37.2% vs. 39.6%) and it did not have "Desperate Housewives" as a lead-in, "GCB" retained 100% of its young adult audience (AD18-34/AD18-49) from the prior week.

* Improving over the second hour of a 2-hour "Brothers & Sisters" (1.7/5 on 4/10/11) on the year-ago night, "GCB" boosted its time slot for ABC year to year by double digits in Adults 18-49 (+12%).

From EW.com:
GAME OF THRONES delivered 3.8 million viewers — last week’s premiere had 3.9 million viewers.

AMC’s MAD MEN (2.8 million) and THE KILLING (1.8 milli

NEWS ROUNDUP: Vanessa Williams Reveals Sexual Abuse; Finola Hughes On Contract; Southern Leslie Bibb

Vanessa Williams Reveals Sexual Abuse as a Child
The DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES star reveals that she was molested as a 10-year-old, which she chronicles in her new memoir, "You Have No Idea."

According to Williams, she was visiting family friends in California when one night the family's 18-year-old daughter came into her room.

"[She] pulled down the bloomers of my cotton baby-doll pajamas," Williams writes. "‘What are you doing?' I asked. ‘Don't worry—it'll feel good.' I lay there paralyzed. What was going on? I didn't speak. She kept at [the molestation] for I don't know how long. She slid my bloomers back up and whispered: 'Don't tell anyone.' "

Which fashion trends do the young cast of DAYS OF OUR LIVES like least?
“The thing I hate the most that people wear are those Affliction shirts,” said resident hunk Schuyler Yancey, who plays Cameron on the show. “Guys wearing those shirts or any kind of bedazzled jeans makes me want to vomit.”

His co-star, Casey Deidrick, was also quick to give his cents on this flashy fashion fad. He quipped, “If you wear studded shirts, just take it off. Anytime I see someone wearing Ed Hardy, I just want them to take it off immediately!”
