'As the World Turns' and 'Guiding Light' Stars Confirmed for 'The Talk' Special on October 12

The Talk celebrates CBS Daytime past and present on Wednesday, October 12, with actors from The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful, As the World Turns and Guiding Light appearing.

Confirmed so far are Guiding Light's Kim Zimmer (Reva Shayne), Robert Newman (Joshua Lewis), Grant Aleksander (Phillip Spaulding) and Beth Chamberlin (Beth Raines); As the World Turns' Colleen Zenk (Barbara Ryan), Elizabeth Hubbard (Lucinda Walsh), Martha Byrne (Lily Snyder) and Ellen Dolan (Margo Hughes); The Young and the Restless' Christel Khalil (Lily Ashby), Christian LeBlanc (Michael Baldwin), Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman) and Jason Thompson (Billy Abbott); and The Bold and the Beautiful's Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke Logan), Don Diamont (Bill Spencer), Scott Clifton (Liam Spencer) and Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy Forrester Spencer).

CBS Daytime is commemorating 30 years at #1 with a variety of celebrations throughout the year, and wants its audience to join the fun. From special programming to can’t-miss events, many opportunities are planned for fans to experience even more of the series they love. New 'Anacostia' Teaser Includes First Look at the Legendary Elizabeth Hubbard

Anxious Anacostia fans have been waiting all year for the Emmy and Indie Series Award-winning series to return. The wait is, finally, almost over! And in a newly released teaser video for the upcoming epsidoes, viewers get their first looked at legendary actress Elizabeth Hubbard, who will be reuniting with former As the World Turns onscreen daughter, Martha Byrne (Lily Walsh Snyder), who won an Emmy earlier this year for her portrayal of Alexis Jordan on the show. Byrne wrote Hubbard's Anacostia arc with Anderson.

Hubbard won a Daytime Emmy Award in 1974 for her work as Althea on The Doctors, and another in 1976 as star of First Ladies Diaries: Edith Wilson. She received nine additional nominations for playing Lucinda on ATWT, which went off the air in 2010.

Hubbard joining Byrne, Anthony Anderson and the Anacostia team is expected to be epic.

Nick & Althea Get Married Today on Retro TV's 'The Doctors'

If you're not watching the 1968 repeats of classic NBC soap opera The Doctors on Retro TV, you are missing a writing and acting masterpiece, the very best programming daytime television has to offer. Today at 12 p.m. ET, the much-anticipated wedding of Dr. Althea Davis (Emmy winner Elizabeth Hubbard) and Dr. Nick Bellini (Gerald Gordon) finally happens.

Back in 2012, Nick & Althea came in at 39 on our countdown of the "50 Greatest Soap Couples of All Time" list. After watching nearly a year's worth of episodes, and the chemistry on display between the two actors, they probably deserved to be much, much higher.

Today's wedding, which originally aired on November 11, 1968 (less than a week after Richard Nixon was elected President of the United States), promises to be fun and memorable. Don't miss it!

'The Doctors' Debuts on Retro TV With 2 Episodes Each Weekday Starting Monday


The Doctors, a daytime soap opera that ran on NBC from 1963 to 1982, is back! The show debuts in Retro TV's afternoon lineup starting Monday, September 29th. The network will air two episodes Monday through Friday at 12 p.m. ET/PT, picking up the story in 1967.

STORY:
Cranky doctor John and eccentric businesswoman Lucinda began as rivals for a seat on the hospital board.  Over the next three years they would passionately find reasons to disagree on a number of subjects including "bad influence" Dusty dating Lucinda's daughter, Lily.  In March 1987, the passion moved to the next level in a now famous hot tub scene where John falls in then pulls Lucinda in with him.  The shocking revelation of their marriage stunned poor Emma Snyder as well as the audience.  In the final weeks of AS THE WORLD TURNS, John returned and reunited with Lucinda.

WE LOVE SOAPS TV 1.50 Elizabeth Hubbard, Part 2

On Episode 1.50 of WE LOVE SOAPS TV, Roger Newcomb visited the set of AS THE WORLD TURNS on the second to last day of production and spoke with two-time Emmy winning soap legend Elizabeth Hubbard, who has played Lucinda on the show since 1984. In this new exclusive interview, Hubbard discusses her acting career, the causes she cares about and the future. Part 2 of this three-part interview focuses on her own story ideas and memories, working with Martha Byrne, the "golden box" and writing a book about her life.

It's fun talking to you because you make it alive again. And your enthusiasm. I'm going to miss her (Lucinda) a lot. She's been a good friend.
