Legendary actress Helen Wagner died three years ago today. Below is a rare classic clip of Wagner playing Nancy Hughes in 1979 in a scene with Barbara Rodell's Joyce and Don MacLaughlin's Chris.

By the time he began his thirty-year run on AS THE WORLD TURNS in 1956, Don McLaughlin had already been the hero on radio's ROAD OF LIFE since 1948 (and continue to do so until 1959) as well as on the short-lived television version of the serial.

"Chris Hughes" was always there to provide sage advise and counsel to his friends, family and colleagues, and was ever devoted to his beloved Nancy.

No greater tribute can be given to the man than Don Hastings' response several years ago to the question "Who would you most like to act with again?" He quickly replied, "Don McLaughlin."
