At home, Papa Bauer (Theo Goetz) and Bill (Lyle Sudrow) played chess as Bert (Charita Bauer) prepared the baby's bottle. Papa told Bill he spent too much time away from home on business trips. Bill received a telegram from Meta announcing her impending return.

1939: Primetime radio soap opera Those We Love was canceled and taken off the air by NBC's Blue Network. It was the story of the Marshall family of Westbridge, Connecticut, and featured Universal starlet Nan Grey. It was canceled so abruptly the story was left in limbo which outraged fans. They responded with a flood of vitriolic mail to NBC, to Ponds Cream, and to such trade journals as Radio Guide. Some suggested boycotting the sponsor; interest was aroused by a "code of rights," to force networks and sponsors to keep faith with the audience; some listeners proposed to appeal to the Federal Communications Commission.

1964: On Another World, Pat Matthews (Susan Trustman) had an abortion. This was the first abortion story told in television history. Irna Phillips and William J. Bell were the writers.

We Love Soaps received a message from Ms. Trustman earlier this year: "Yes, I am, indeed, alive and well and live in Los Angeles with my husband, film and TV producer, Jerry Leider. 1970: On Dark Shadows, David Collins (David Henesy) and Hallie Stokes (Kathy Cody) made a doll and realized that someone would live with them in the dollhouse.

1980: On Another World, Mary Evers (Donna Parsons) told Miranda Bishop (Judith McConnell) she found a tape in the tea canister and Miranda assumed it belonged to Mac Cory (Douglass Watson). Later, Miranda told Mac about the tape. He said it wasn't his, and they agreed she would listen to it to find out who it belonged to, unaware it was a recording of Mitch Blake's (William Gray Espy) confessions about working with Janice Frame to poison Mac.

Emmy® Award winner Vanessa Marcil (General Hospital, The Nanny Express) and James Denton (Desperate Housewives) star in the romantic tropical escape, shot on location in Puerto Rico, and follows the story of a driven executive whose disastrous business trip to a beautiful island turns into an unexpected new beginning. Stranded In Paradise, based on Lori Copeland’s novel of the same name, will have its World Premiere on Hallmark Channel, Saturday, August 9 (9 p.m. ET/PT).

“Bringing Lori’s novel to life on screen with this opportunity to film on location in Puerto Rico was picture-perfect for this project,” said Michelle Vicary, Executive Vice President, Programming for Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movie Channel. “It’s a great story for the network and we were pleased to give it the beautiful backdrop it deserves.”
