NEWS: Corbin Bleu, Colleen Zenk, Randy Brooks, Jeffrey Christopher Todd, James Scott, 'Dark Shadows' Binge, 'The Archers'

Corbin Bleu and Collee Zenk
Review of "Family Shots" play starring Corbin Bleu, Collen Zenk and Randy Brooks
"Overall, without resorting to flashiness or melodrama, [Bleu, One Life to Live] delivers a terrifically sharp, effortlessly magnetic performance solidifying his mature evolution as one of the most skilled actors of his generation. Zenk, a three-time Emmy nominee as villainous Barbara Ryan on As the World Turns, is a flustered, worrisome joy brilliantly conveying the nervous agitation derived from accepting and embracing the unknown. Brooks (The Young and the Restless, Another World) is basically confined to a bed throughout, but his down-to-earth presence and plain spoken insightfulness appealingly resonates."

Alec Baldwin to Write Memoir ‘Nevertheless’
Baldwin will pen the book himself and include stories about his childhood in New York, his early career as a soap opera star on The Doctors, his marriage and acrimonious divorce from actress Kim Basinger, and his second marriage to yoga instructor Hilaria Thomas in 2012.

NEWS: Mary McDonnell Remembers AS THE WORLD TURNS; Melissa Reeves; Corbin Bleu; Sutton Foster

MAJOR CRIMES star Mary McDonnell reflects on playing Claudia Colfax on AS THE WORLD TURNS in 1980
"Oh, my God! Okay, here it is: I’m going to try to do word association. I’m standing in front of a wall, a piece of a wall, with a pay phone on every episode I played, putting a dime or a quarter or something into the phone and calling the character who was the lead in the show (Colleen Zenk's Barbara Ryan) about her baby, who I was secretly raising. But I had a boyfriend who was beating me up, so I was always in tears or, like, bruised. That’s what I remember. The other thing I remember about it was being jubilant, because I was making money, and I could actually take my boyfriend at the time out to dinner." [Laughs]

NEWS: GENERAL HOSPITAL, Ron Carlivati, John Stamos, SOAPnet, Melody Thomas Scott, Angelica McDaniel, Corbin Bleu

GENERAL HOSPITAL head writer Ron Carlivati: 'I'm sorry people are disappointed when their favorite is not in story. You can't please everybody.'
On the status of Genie Francis (Laura): "I had to write her character off the show because it's my job, not because I wanted to. I don't make the contracts. I sit in New York and write the show. As I understand it, Genie came back to us on a short-term contract, which is what both she and ABC wanted. I was given her dates and worked with them the best I could."

On being overly sensitive to Twitter criticism: "People have different ideas of what constitutes criticism and, to me, 'This show sucks' is not criticism. I will listen and respond very thoughtfully to someone who says, 'I had a problem with this because of such and such...' That doesn't mean I'll change my plans, but that's completely valid. But, yeah, call me sensitive when someone says, 'You're the worst writer and human being on the planet!' There are some very angry, very hateful people out there and who needs that in your life? I would never talk about people the way some of them talk about me."

Carlivati and John Stamos disagree on Twitter about proposed Blackie return for GENERAL HOSPITAL's 50th Anniversary
Stamos responding to a fan asking if he would ever return to GH: "Never! I tried, they wanted me 2 play J.G. on drums with R.S. Legacy too important to me."

Carlivati: "I'm sure I will be shouted down by 1.3M people, but this is a total mischaracterization of what occurred."

How SCANDAL Beat HOMELAND At Its Own Game
On SCANDAL, the romance, character development, and themes are aligned. On HOMELAND, they’re torn in different directions. And one of the reasons that’s the case is that SCANDAL's alignment is based in clearer convictions. The show is clear-eyed about institutions and the people who run them, while HOMELAND keeps forgiving them.

ARCHER Takes Highway to Danger Zone With Season 5 Shakeup
When Archer returns in January, the show’s world will be shaken as it abandons the central premise — that the characters are incompetent spies working for ISIS — and send the cast on the lam, attempting to sell drugs after the government shuts down the agency.

Corbin Bleu’s DANCING WITH THE STARS Blog: Bringing GAME OF THRONES To The Ballroom

I’m proud to say working out is a huge part of my lifestyle. I’ve been training with him since I was 18 and over the years, my body has truly transformed. The stamina alone is really helping me get through this rigorous dancing schedule."

GENERAL HOSPITAL: The Ugly Denouement of the Baby Connie True Parentage Plot
Marlena De Lacroix writes: "What made this ugly sequence memorable at all was the acting. Dominic Zamprogna’s Dante was fierce and Emme Rylan’s Lulu practically breathed fire as she found out how her best friend Maxie had betrayed her by passing off her biological daughter as Lulu and Dante’s own. But the most winning of all — as has been so this entire dreadful plot — was the acting of Bradford Anderson as Spinelli. The loss and pain of the situation have been continuously written on Anderson’s face and in his tears."

"Kimberly and I brought an energy together and it really worked. It really starts with good story. And we've had some great storylines together. People really want to watch. They relate to the characters, who have been through a lot."

Corbin Bleu's DANCING WITH THE STARS Blog: Getting Into A Rhythm
"I definitely was more frustrated this week. I’m very much a perfectionist, and with the clock ticking down to performance day with me still struggling with most of the routine I was beginning to panic. We were at the top of the leaderboard last week and the pressure is on! Luckily my partner (my secret weapon) is a nitpicking Russian drill sergeant who refuses to take anything less from me than my best. I’m still scared as hell of this dance, but I think I’m as ready as I can be to wow the judges."

Ming-Na Wen Goes Badass on MARVEL'S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.
"May is still dealing with scars from her days as a soldier, most of which I don't know about yet. S.H.I.E.L.D. agents are immersed in high levels of espionage and witness shocking things on the level of THE X-FILES and it's all so confidential they can't share it. So, it's weird. They're real insiders who know all the secrets, yet that makes them outsiders. That's why this new team becomes such a family. They need each other. They comfort each other."

Baltimore native and former AS THE WORLD TURNS actress Peyton List goes from MAD MEN to THE TOMORROW PEOPLE
"It's an incredible opportunity for me," List says of her role as Cara Coburn, the female leader of the outcast tribe living in an abandoned subway station. "I've never done a series where I've had this much responsibility in terms of carrying so much. But I'm also enjoying doing it. I can't say it's completely foreign, because I have done other shows. But it is definitely a new experience for me in terms of anything I've done in my career."

NEWS: Heather Tom, Barbara Windsor, Corbin Bleu, Steve McFadden, Bill Tarmey

Five-time Emmy winner Heather Tom talks soaps and reality TV
On how working on soaps is different compared to theater, film and TV guest shots: "I would think the biggest difference is just the sheer volume of the work that we do. We do two shows a day. I think that’s the biggest thing. We move very fast. We don’t really get a lot of time to do two takes. We do one take and go. I think also [when] playing a character that’s been around for 10 or 20 years, that character kind of takes on a life of its own. I tend to be very excited about daytime. I like playing a character for a long period of time."

Producers hoping to persuade EASTENDERS matriarch Barbara Windsor to make permanent return
The 75 year old actress will return to the show - which she quit in 2010 after 16 years - as Walford matriarch Peggy Mitchell for one episode this fall, but the powers that be are keen to get her to return on a long-term basis.
