A trailer has been released for She & Her, an upcoming film starring Daytime Emmy and Indie Series Award winner Carolyn Hennesy (Diane on General Hospital).
Hennesy plays Poppy Sinclaire, an aging ex-actress whose world is turned upside down when young up-and-comer Mattie Morris (Mackenzie Breeden) drags her out of her self imposed exile, and convinces her to share her story of Hollywood abuse. Together with super-producer Addie Banks (Gwen Hillier), the women work through their shared traumas as they fight and forgive, ultimately taking back the narrative, and shaping a future that they want to live in.
Since first hitting the web, zombie comedy Acting Dead has won multiple Indie Series Awards, and nabbed a Primetime Emmy last fall for Patrika Darbo's hilarious performance. Starting today, the brilliantly funny Brian Beacock-penned series is available on Amazon Video, and free to view for all Amazon Prime customers.
Acting Dead tells the story of Tate Blodgett (Brian Beacock), a down on his luck, unemployed actor, who after being turned down for role after role, decides to take his career into his own hands, and becomes a Zombie, simply so he can finally get work in the many Zombie movies and television shows. Along the way, he meets Alex Carboneux (Jillian Clare), a former child star, who's temper has stalled her career, until she also decides to take matters in her own hands, which doesn't turn out so well either.
“We're so excited that audiences can now bite and binge the entire first season of Acting Dead," said Beacock. "It didn't take a lot of brains to realize that Amazon was a great home for our Emmy winning zombie comedy!” Producer Susan Bernhardt added “I'm positive the Amazon audience will get hooked on Acting Dead – we've always known we had something really special and are thrilled to bring our Emmy winning digital series to the Amazon lineup."
In addition to Beacock, Clare and Darbo, the zom-com boasts an impressive group of talent including Chris Galya, Paul Nygro and John Yelvington with Season One guest stars Debbie Gibson, Eric Martsolf, Carolyn Hennesy, Sean Kanan, John J. York, Cocoa Brown, Christine Lakin, Lori Alan, Erin Matthews, Gary and Larry Lane, Peter Allen Vogt, Sheila Sheila, Mitch Silpa and Jacee Jule.

Two-time Daytime Emmy-nominated actress Carolyn Hennesy is known for her role as Diane Miller on General Hospital, and was most recently seen as Toni in the hit Netflix revival series Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. Other major credits include Rosalyn Harris on HBO's True Blood, the uber-evil Penelope Ellis on Revenge, Barb on Cougar Town, and the hilariously haughty Mrs. Chesterfield in Disney's Jessie. She also recently starred in the action-thriller Better Criminal, and just wrapped production on the female-driven horror film, St. Agatha. Big screen credits include Click, Legally Blonde 2, and Terminator 3. She recently won an Indie Series Award in the Best Guest Actress-Drama category for her role in The Bay, a performance that also earned her a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting/Guest Actress in a Digital Daytime Drama Series. Among other stage accolades, the LA Drama Critics Circle has distinguished her with the Natalie Schafer Award and the LA Stage Alliance with an Ovation Award. She authored the wildly popular “Pandora” children's book series (Bloomsbury USA) and the New York Times Bestseller “The Secret Life of Damian Spinelli” (Hyperion). General Hospital Emmy nominated actress Carolyn Hennesy (Diane Miller) has joined Netflix's Gilmore Girls revival series in a recurring role.
According to Variety, Hennesy will play Toni, a member of The DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution). Described as upper-crust, someone who likes to keep things orderly and does not appreciate dissension, Toni has been in the “club” for years with Emily Gilmore (Kelly Bishop).
Netflix announced in July that all four episodes of the continuation — titled Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life — would be released on Friday, November 25 at 12:01 a.m. PT in its entirety, despite series creator Sherman-Palladino's plea that they be rolled out one or two at a time.

Jim Rash, Carolyn Hennesy and Claire Downs star in These People.
These People, the winner for Best Writing in a Comedy (for series co-creator Zac Hug and Academy Award winner Jim Rash) at the recent Indie Series Awards, returns for a third season later this month true to form, focusing on the third sibling, Chuck. And then there’s Mom.
On Sunday, April 24, the cast will present a live version of the first episode via Facebook Live, with all six episodes live at thesepeople.tv on April 30th.
Co-created by Zac Hug and Jamie Heinrich, season three finds the Bennet family reeling from Simon’s death as Chuck (Cameron Miller Desart) begins a search for some new place to live for their mother, Julia Bennet, (Carolyn Hennesy, General Hospital). The rest is the usual insanity: Jenny (Claire Downs) and Todd (Zac Hug) have a few sessions with Dr. Maher (Keith Powell), as Josh (Jeremy Glazer) moves on with Kip Stark (Ben Baur), in earshot of gossip columnist Kevin Pratt (Jim Rash). All of this as Chuck’s wife Marilyn (Amanda Walsh) and his daughter Adelaide (Leigh Epstiein) finally lead him to the family confrontation with Dad (Jim O’Heir).
With brilliant writing, an all-star cast, and perfect chemistry, These People is at the top of my must-watch web series list. You can't help but laugh out loud at the dysfunctional antics of the Bennets, so outrageous at times but always performed perfectly by the stellar ensemble so that you end up rooting for the characters. At the very least, you will want to watch to find out what they do next.
Hot off the heels of winning two Indie Series Awards last week and receiving five nominations for the upcoming Daytime Emmy Awards, LANY Entertainment has revealed its hit web series The Bay will be moving to Amazon Prime this summer. With a new beginning, viewers will be able to binge watch the “Director’s Cut” of the Emmy award-winning series, to be re-released in two 14-episode seasons on Amazon Prime.
“We’re excited to bring to the viewers these remastered episodes with never before seen footage,” explains creator Gregori J. Martin. “The show will have a new starting point, and we hope the viewers will binge watch the series to learn the whole story.”
With plans to shoot the 2nd half of the latter season, The Bay goes into production on six brand new episodes in May.
In the vein of Dicken’s “A Christmas Carol,” Mayor Jack Madison (Nicolas Coster) will be taken on a journey where he’ll reluctantly face his past transgressions. Joining the cast in the role of the mayor’s ex-wife and son John Blackwell’s (Ronn Moss) late mother is Carolyn Hennesy (General Hospital, True Blood, Revenge). Brandon Beemer (Days of our Lives) will fill the role of a younger John Blackwell as Jensen Buchanan (The Young and the Restless, Another World) undertakes the role of Melody Garrett circa 1986. Marissa Tait (The Bold and the Beautiful) joins the cast as Young Katherine Blackwell while Eric Martsolf and Abby Wathen return in their roles as Young Lee and Young Sara. Additional casting news will be released prior to production.
In the new episodes, viewers can also expect to see Sara Garrett’s (Mary Beth Evans) misery in prison continue with the returns of Indie Series Awards winner Kym Whitley as cellblock bully “Big Candi” and Patsy Pease as lunatic “Lola Baker.” After leaving heartbroken bride Vivian Johnson (Karrueche Tran) at the altar, golden boy Pete Garrett (Kristos Andrews) faces his own dilemmas as he conspires to free his imprisoned mother while dealing with the news of his beloved Janice Ramos’ (Indie Series Awards winner Lilly Melgar) brutal rape. Upcoming star-studded ZomCom ACTING DEAD has launched a new website, ActingDead.com, and released a trailer for the series which premieres online April 22.
ACTING DEAD stars Brian Beacock (Mulholland Drive) as Tate Blodgett, a down on his luck unemployed actor, who after being turned down for role after role, decides to take his career into his own hands, and becomes a Zombie, simply so he can finally get work in the many Zombie movies and television shows. Along the way, he meets Alex Carboneux (Jillian Clare, Alien Abduction), a former child star who's temper has stalled her career until she also decides to take matters in her own hands, which doesn't turn out so well either.
"We're very excited about ACTING DEAD's World Premiere on March 28th at LAweb Fest," showrunner and star Brian Beacock said in a press release. "It's an amazingly fun and important event and we're so proud to be a part of it. Plus today is the launch of the ACTING DEAD Official Website and the premiere of our Official Series Trailer! There's so much going on, it's got our brains on overdrive. Of course, that comes with the territory when working on a zombie comedy series."
We Love Soaps is thrilled to announce that GENERAL HOSPITAL star Carolyn Hennesy will host the 5th Annual ISAs. The awards show celebrates the best in independently produced, scripted entertainment created for the Web.
Hennesy joined the cast of daytime soap opera GENERAL HOSPITAL in 2006, and has played the role of tough-as-nails attorney Diane Miller ever since. She was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award in 2010 for her work.
In primetime, Hennesy has starred in numerous series including JESSIE, COUGAR TOWN and TRUE BLOOD. She is also set to guest star in the upcoming zombie comedy indie web series ACTING DEAD as Dr. Ivana Wurshter, the mysterious woman behind the zombie-actor production company, Flatline Inc. If that isn't enough, she recently shot a feature film, Hybrids, which wrapped in November.
This year's Indie Series Awards, formerly known as the Indie Soap Awards, will take place in early April.
GENERAL HOSPITAL actress Carolyn Hennesy, who plays Diane Miller on the long-running daytime soap opera, is the latest star to be cast in the upcoming semi-dark, zombie-comedy, ACTING DEAD. Set in the world of Hollywood, ACTING DEAD is an independent television series from award-winning New Media producers Brian Beacock and Susan Bernhardt.
"I've know Carolyn for quite some time now, and have always been a big fan of her work," said Bernhardt. "She has the perfect combination of wit and fierce glamour for this integral role in the story."
With BREAKING BAD Approaching Its End, Marketers May Clamor to Buy Commercial Time
The last seven episodes will almost assuredly continue the show’s viewership streak for AMC, the network that carries it, and they may set another milestone, too — near record advertising rates for cable television for marketers vying for the limited commercial time still available.
The BREAKING BAD finale on Sept. 29 could be the biggest original programming cable TV event since THE SOPRANOS finale in June 2007 — and those unsold units will get premium rates.
Carolyn Hennesy was nominated this year for Best Supporting Actress in the 37th Annual Daytime Emmys. How does she stay so confident, powerful, and empowered? Read below to find out.
We Love Soaps: I love that your character is a woman who takes action, she knows what she wants, she knows how to get it. How much of that is about you? Carolyn Hennesy: All of it.
We Love Soaps: Is that who you are? Carolyn Hennesy: You bet.
We Love Soaps: Have you always been like that, or have you had to learn how to be confident in yourself? Carolyn Hennesy: I think we all do. There are those horrible angst ridden teenage years. Then you slowly get out of that. Listen, this is a very tough business. If I hadn’t learned to have some resilience and let things sluff off, I would be dead. Because this is a business that says “No.” And I’ve said, “I don’t care how much you say no, I’m going to say yes.”
We Love Soaps: How did you learn to do that? How did you learn not to take it personally when you hear “no” and keep fighting? Carolyn Hennesy: Believe me, that’s the trick. If I could bottle that, if I could bottle, “Don’t take anything personally.” I think you need people in your corner as a support system who already know it to keep telling you. So anyone out there—don’t take it personally! If you want to do it, don’t take no for an answer. Unless it’s illegal, immoral, or fattening.
Tony winners Sara Ramirez (ex-Hannah, AS THE WORLD TURNS) and Tyne Daly (ex-Caroline, GENERAL HOSPITAL) joined fellow straight allies Amy Brennaman, Christine Lahti, Dolores Huerta, Camryn Manheim, Melonie Diaz, Sally Kirkland (ex-Brenda, GENERAL HOSPITAL) and Carolyn Hennesy (Diane, GENERAL HOSPITAL) in the "Stop the Hate, Vote No on 8". campaign by making a series of public service announcements in support of same-sex marriage in California. Also in the spots are out actors Wilson Cruz, Heather Matarazzo and Carolyn Murphy.
