'Murder, She Baked: Just Desserts' Set to Premiere March 26

Crime-solving baker Hannah Swensen's first-ever televised bake-off competition is heating up, but when the judges start dropping like fallen soufflés - and one is found dead of very unnatural causes - Hannah discovers two things; this is no cookie-cutter murder, and as the lead judge she might very well be the next victim, in Murder, She Baked: Just Desserts. The new, original movie stars Alison Sweeney (ex-Sami, Days of our Lives) and Cameron Mathison (ex-Ryan, All My Children), and premieres Sunday, March 26 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

Lake Eden, Minnesota's baking queen and The Cookie Jar owner Hannah Swensen (Sweeney) is up to her elbows in a lot more than cookie dough when one of the judges of her first-ever televised bake-off is found dead the night of the semi-finals. And with indications that other judges might be targeted as well, Hannah's knack for crime-solving comes in handy, especially since she is one of the judges and could be the next victim. Together with detective Mike Kingston (Mathison), who she is finally dating after several "strictly sleuthing" adventures, Hannah pulls out all the stops to uncover who killed grumpy high school coach Leonard Bishop (Kurt Evans).

Executive Producers include Brad Krevoy, Stephanie Germain, Jonathan Axelrod, Alan Ett, Susie Belzberg, Eric Jarboe, Amanda Phillips Atkins, Jimmy Townsend, Alison Sweeney and Nancey Silvers. Murder She Baked: 'A Deadly Recipe' Premieres June 19 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries

Photo Credit: Copyright 2016 Crown Media United States, LLC/Photographer: Katie Yu
Murder, She Baked: A DEADLY RECIPE premieres Sunday,June 19 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. The film stars Alison Sweeney (Days of our Lives, The Biggest Loser), and Cameron Mathison (All My Children, Entertainment Tonight).

Bakery owner Hannah Swensen (Sweeney) just can't keep her hands out of the batter when murder stirs things up in Lake Eden, Minnesota, leaving the sheriff dead, a deputy accused, and a killer on the loose.

For Hannah, life seems to be lacking a certain flavor lately. Maybe it's the local sheriff's election that's got her down. For years, Sheriff Grant's been the iron hand in town. But now, Hannah's brother-in-law Bill is giving the old blowhard the fight of his long, dubious career - and Grant's not taking it well, especially once the polls show Bill pulling ahead.

But before anyone can taste victory, things go sour. While Hannah's emptying the trash, she makes a very unappetizing discovery: Sheriff Grant's body in the Dumpster behind the high school where she's teaching her cooking class.

And as if that weren't bad enough, the poor man still has fudge frosting on his shirt from one of her cupcakes. The number one - and only - suspect is Bill, but Hannah's not swallowing it.

Plenty of people had reason to hate Sheriff Grant. Soon, Hannah's dishing up scandalous secrets, steaming hot betrayals, and enough intrigue to keep the gossip mill at The Cookie Jar going through several pots of decaf. And the closer Hannah gets to the truth, the closer she gets to finding the murderer with a calorie-laden, nasty recipe for silencing people.

NEWS: THE LYING GAME Canceled, VERONICA MARS Book Series, Jerry verDorn, Cory Monteith, Jill Larson, Julie Hesmondhalgh, Daisy Lewis, Tracey Bregman

THE LYING GAME canceled
LYING GAME star Alexandra Chando tweeted the news: "To our awesome #lyinggame fans, thank you for these two amazing seasons. Unfortunately, Abc Family has decided not to bring us back for a third season. We so wanted to do 10 more for you guys! Thanks for your support and keep up with the cast to see what's next for us! Xx"

Cory Monteith Was Invaluable To GLEE. Where Does the Show Go Now?
Regardless of the cause, Cory Monteith’s death is a tragic one. He was young and talented — a gifted drummer, an awkward-as-hell dancer, and a reliable nailer of power ballads. And he was Finn Hudson, GLEE's main testament to the life-changing power of music, arguably the show’s primary message.

The loss of Finn alters the show’s landscape permanently and irrevocably. While Ryan Murphy hasn’t said much publicly about what this year holds, he negotiated a two-season renewal for GLEE last spring, and consensus is that he wouldn’t have been able to do so without some sort of master plan (or at the very least, a general sense) of how this next chunk of story plays out.

GLEE works as escapist television, and it almost always flounders when it tries to be something bigger. Season four’s misbegotten school shooting, prostate cancer, teen molestation, and eating disorder storylines – all either insensitively handled or dropped without explanation – are undeniable proof of that.

Before his tragic death, Cory Monteith enjoyed his final days with friends.

More tests needed for cause of Monteith's death
Vancouver police Sgt. Randy Fincham said there's nothing to indicate the death was due to illicit drug use.

NEWS: Daytime Celebrates, Hugh Bonneville, Cameron Mathison, Larry Bryggman, Vanessa Whitburn, Amber Tamblyn, Shonda Rhimes, Luke Grimes, Jon Hamm

Daytime Soap Operas Have Reason to Celebrate: THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS Turns 40 and GENERAL HOSPITAL Turns 50
According to Karen Herman, Director of the Archive of American Television, the Archive seeks to showcase shows and people that will leave “an indelible mark on generations of audiences.” Herman continued, “Television has been at the center of American lives and living rooms for decades, and what is on our screens has mirrored and influenced the history of this country.”

DOWNTON ABBEY's Hugh Bonneville would 'never say never' to EASTENDERS role
Bonneville plays the Earl of Grantham in ITV's hit drama Downton Abbey, but he might be propping up the bar of EastEnders' Queen Vic in the future. The actor made a brief appearance as a headmaster in a single episode the east London-based soap in 1995, but says he would consider returning to Albert Square after DOWNTON. Bonneville told The Mirror: "I might go back. I am a jobbing actor and I will take whatever comes along, thank you very much. I would never say never."
