BUNHEADS Officially Canceled By ABC Family

ABC Family has officially canceled BUNHEADS.

"BUNHEADS is a wonderful series that we are very proud to have aired," the network statement. "The series had amazing storytelling, the most talented cast and a passionate and loyal fan base. Recognizing all of this, we took extra time to try and find ways to bring the series back for another season, but in the end it simply wasn't possible. We wish the cast and crew the best in their future endeavors."

BUNHEADS was executive produced by Amy Sherman-Palladino. The series starred Sutton Foster, Kaitlyn Jenkins, Julia Goldani Telles, Bailey Buntain and Emma Dumont with guest star Kelly Bishop.

The news came exactly one week after the network canceled its other bubble series THE LYING GAME.

NEWS: BOARDWALK EMPIRE Premieres September 8; More Charges For William Roache; Plus, Matthew Morrison, Prospect Park, James Wolk, Tammin Sursok

Fourth season of BOARDWALK EMPIRE will premiere Sunday, September 8
Jeffrey Wright and Ron Livingston are among the new castmembers for the Prohibition-era mob drama.

GLEE's Matthew Morrison opens up about broken engagement to DAYS OF OUR LIVES actress Chrishell Stause
“When I was 27, I proposed to my then girlfriend, but I didn’t do it for the right reasons. We’d been going out for a year or so and I felt under pressure from society. I was thinking, ‘This is the age when I should probably start having kids so this is what I should do…’ But after I did it (proposed), I immediately felt in my heart it wasn’t right. My instant thought was ‘What did you just do?’”

Morrison later ended the engagement and admits it was an awful experience, but he learned a lot.

Did Susan Lucci Dodge a Bullet? Revived Soaps in Disarray
It seems in retrospect that when Prospect Park announced the cut back to two episodes per week rather than four of each, the company knew it was running out of money. Now they’ve doubled how long their backlog of episodes will last. So it had nothing to do with their “viewer survey.” It was simply about stockpiling episodes.

Eastwooding - Soap Opera Style With Jonathan Jackson & Nathan Parsons

Clint Eastwood caused quite the stir on the national stage of the Republican National Convention Thursday night when he interviewed an empty chair, addressing it as “President Obama.” The off-color interview sparked a rush of Internet buzz and produced at least two new twitter trends.

The twitter handle @invisibleobama inspired by the empty seat that accompanied Eastwood on the stage in Tampa, has generated more than 63,000 followers and counting. And its counterpart, #Eastwooding, has prompted tweeters on both sides of the political spectrum to post pictures of empty chairs. It seems everyone has enjoyed a little Eastwooding.

For fun, here's a photo of GENERAL HOSPITAL alums Jonathan Jackson and Nathan Parsons and, yes, an empty chair (the actors were actually waiting for their TV dad, Anthony Geary, at the time).

Jackson is one of the stars of ABC's upcoming primetime soap opera NASHVILLE, while Parsons made a huge splash this summer on the first season of ABC Family's BUNHEADS.

Whether your lean Left or Right or somewhere in between, feel free to share your own #Eastwooding image below.
