Bree Williamson Joins 'General Hospital' as Claudette

One Life to Live alum Bree Williamson (ex-Jessica Buchanan) has joined the cast of ABC soap opera General Hospital in the role of Nathan West's (Ryan Paevey) ex-wife, Claudette, per a report from Daytime Confidential's Jamey Giddens.

Williamson shot her first episode on Thursday, and is scheduled to debut on GH in July. She revealed to Soap Opera Digest that it "was an intense day, but awesome and exciting.”

GH executive producer Frank Valentini sold Williamson on the role, according to Digest. “He said that Claudette is spicy and a bad girl and that it was going to be fun. And I said, 'Okay, cool, I’m in!’"

Williamson was last seen in an episode of Castle last month.

Kelly Ripa, a longtime lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community advocate, says watching husband Mark Consuelos kiss another man (in this case, actor Craig Bierko) as part of his current stage gig actually gets her a little hot under the collar.

Ripa tells the New York Daily News that "as an actor, there's something voyeuristic and perversely sexy about watching my husband" kiss someone else. Consuelos and Bierko are currently starring off-Broadway in "Standing on Ceremony: The Gay Marriage Plays" at New York's Minetta Lane Theatre.

Queen Bea: A Soapsical Interview With Bree Williamson

Roger Newcomb and I nearly laughed our heads off at the February 9th performance of "Queen Bea: A Soapsical."  This is a hilarious new musical featuring some of your favorite ONE LIFE TO LIVE stars.  There is one more performance on Saturday February 13th, in Manhattan.  This is absolutely a can't-miss production for soap fans. You can still reserve a seat by calling 212.695.6909.  Then enjoy the below interview with one of the stars, Bree Williamson.

We Love Soaps: I just saw "Queen Bea" and loved it. What was your drive for wanting to do this show again?
Bree Williamson: One of my really good friends is the writer.  I read it and thought, “Oh my God, this is the funniest thing ever.”  It was her thesis project at Tisch and I saw the performance of it and said to her, “Why don’t we put this on, it’s so wonderful!” Now we’re here.

We Love Soaps: The lead character’s name is Bea Williams.  That’s awfully close to somebody I know.
Bree Williamson: I know, it is!

We Love Soaps: Is that a coincidence?

In Part TwoShe discusses more about the Tess storyline, the famous funeral episode after Nash died, as well as the one scene she couldn't shake off.

In Part Three - Bree discusses losing at the 2009 Emmy Awards, being a role model, and the unfortunate fate of male heroes in Llanview.

The Bree Williamson WLS Interview, Part One

Bree Williamson has become a formidable actress in daytime television in the past seven years, consistently delivering heart-wrenching and convincing performances in the role of Jessica on ONE LIFE TO LIVE. But as I learned in this We Love Soaps interview, her off camera ambitions are also industrious, determined, and inspiring. Please enjoy this candid conversation as we discuss poltics, Psychology, and the legacy of CHARLIE’S ANGELS.

We Love Soaps: Your name reminds me of my favorite CHARLIE'S ANGELS character.
Bree Williamson: That’s not a coincidence. That’s where my mom got my name from.

We Love Soaps: You could have been Farrah!
Bree Williamson: My dad wanted to name me Farrah, but my Mom won, so I’m Bree.

We Love Soaps: I understand you studied Psychology in college.
Bree Williamson: I did a double major in Psychology and Women’s Studies at the University of Toronto.
