'Black Box' Preview: Dr. Black Admits a Patient That Believes He's Been Touched by Divine Intervention

The first season of Black Box continues on Thursday, May 22 on ABC at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

In the episode, "Kiss the Sky," Catherine shares a moment of tenderness with Esme when she turns to her for help with winning over the heart of a boy. A close friend comes to Bickman at the Cube after she discovers her husband Jacob gave away his car, liquidated his assets, and has given his penthouse away to his maid. During an examination with Dr. Black, Jacob reveals symptoms of a centuries old condition called Jerusalem Syndrome. Catherine and Owen use unconventional methods to help Dr. Reynaud deal with his crippling fear of death so that he can be at peace in his final days.

Thursday Night Ratings: The CW Delivers Its Most Watched Thursday in Six Weeks

Below is a roundup of Thursday, May 1 ratings reports from ABC, The CW and CBS.

From ABC:
ABC Thursday Prime (8-11 p.m. – 6.6 million and 1.5/4 in AD18-49): With a repeat Grey's Anatomy at 8 p.m., and original Grey's at 9 p.m. and Black Box at 10 p.m., ABC finished #2 on Thursday in Total Viewers and won the night in Adults 18-34 and Women 18-34 (10th straight week).

Grey's Anatomy (9-10 p.m. – 8.7 million and 2.6/8 in AD18-49): Nearly tripling its Adult 18-49 lead-in at 9 p.m. (+189%), ABC’s Grey's Anatomy shot up to dominate its hour, beating CBS’ comedies by 44% (Two and a Half Men/Bad Teacher = 1.8/5), NBC’s iHeart Radio Music Awards by 53% (1.7/5) and Fox with American Idol and Surviving Jack by 117% (1.2/4). In fact against Grey's, Idol fell to a new all-time low for any telecast in AD18-49 (1.5/5).

'Black Box' Premieres Tonight on ABC: Dr. Catherine Black is a World Famous Neurologist Protecting a Secret

Black Box premieres tonight on ABC at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

In the episode, "Kiss the Sky," Dr. Catherine Black (Kelly Reilly) reveals to her therapist Dr. Hartramph (Vanessa Redgrave) that she's feeling empowered, unstoppable, and at the top of her game. This world renowned neurologist has a secret that is becoming more and more difficult to control--she's bi-polar. At the state of the art facility where she works, Catherine has an insight to her patients that no one else has, allowing her to communicate with them on a different level.

ABC Announces Summer 2014 Schedule

ABC has announced its summer lineup, with four new series joining the schedule: THE ASTRONAUT WIVES CLUB on Thursday, July 24 at 9:00 p.m.; BACHELOR IN PARADISE on Monday, August 4 at 8:00 p.m.; RISING STAR on Sunday, June 22 at 9:00 p.m.; and THE QUEST on Thursday, June 19 at 8:00 p.m.

These series join returning shows THE BACHELORETTE, which premieres at a special time, on Monday, May 19 at 9:30 p.m., before moving to its regular time period of 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 26; BET ON YOUR BABY on Saturday, May 31 at 8:00 p.m.; EXTREME WEIGHT LOSS on Tuesday, May 27 at 8:00 p.m.; MISTRESSES on Monday, June 2 at 10:01 p.m.; MOTIVE on Wednesday, May 21 at 10:00 p.m.; NY MED on Tuesday, June 24 at 10:00 p.m.; ROOKIE BLUE on Thursday, July 17 at 10:00 p.m.; and WIPEOUT, which debuts with a special two-hour premiere on Sunday, June 22 at 7:00 p.m., before moving to its regular time period of 8:00 p.m. the following Sunday, June 29.
