Amber Tamblyn Joins TWO AND A HALF MEN as Charlie's Long-Lost Lesbian Daughter

Former GENERAL HOSPITAL star Amber Tamblyn has joined the cast of TWO AND A HALF MEN. She will be playing as the long-lost, lesbian daughter of Charlie Sheen’s late bachelor, according to TVLine.

The character, Jenny, shows up in the September 26 premiere after moving from New York City to Los Angeles to pursue a career in showbiz. She ends up crashing with her Uncle Alan (Jon Cryer) and Walden (Ashton Kutcher).

"She’s somewhat of a chip off the old block," explains executive producer Chuck Lorre. "She’s having a good time and doesn’t care about the destruction left behind her. Decadence from the other side felt long overdue."

Tamblyn's role is recurring (she’s booked for five episodes so far), with the option to become a series regular.

Amber Tamblyn, who originated the role Emily on GENERAL HOSPITAL and played it for six years, posted a beautiful message on her Facebook page Tuesday in honor of the show's 50th anniversary:

Yesterday was General Hospital's 50th Anniversary and I couldn't be more proud to call myself part of their family. GH is where I learned everything about my craft- the art of emotional intelligence, of listening, of interpreting, of setting a scene on fire. Its where I held Stuart Damon and wept when my real life Grandmother passed away, and where Stuart Damon held me and wept when Anna Lee passed away.

Its where I learned how to be disciplined in what I do. Where I found myself, as an actress, as a woman, and as veteran. Its where I learned what having REAL fans in your corner can do for you: carry you into a confidence that most actresses only dream of.

DOWNTON ABBEY's Hugh Bonneville would 'never say never' to EASTENDERS role
Bonneville plays the Earl of Grantham in ITV's hit drama Downton Abbey, but he might be propping up the bar of EastEnders' Queen Vic in the future. The actor made a brief appearance as a headmaster in a single episode the east London-based soap in 1995, but says he would consider returning to Albert Square after DOWNTON. Bonneville told The Mirror: "I might go back. I am a jobbing actor and I will take whatever comes along, thank you very much. I would never say never."

NEWS ROUNDUP: Connie Britton & Hayden Panettiere Talk NASHVILLE; Amber Tamblyn Weds; Sally Pressman Pregnant

Connie Britton Promises Some Grand Ol' Soap Opera in NASHVILLE
"Honestly, when I read the script, I think the whole idea of this rivalry has been a little over developed. I never saw the show in those terms, and I'm going to work really hard to not have the show become about 'old' because I certainly don't feel old and I'm not interested in playing old. So I don't want it to be about old versus young, or about one woman versus another woman. I think what our two characters represent is two people in very different phases of their life and in very different phases of the music business."

Hayden Panettiere goes from singer to 'HERO' and now the new star of NASHVILLE
Juliette’s dark side has been a challenge, Panettiere says, and not just because it’s a change from Clair. Her real-life parents in Palisades, N.Y., a fire lieutenant and soap actress Lesley Vogel, didn’t raise her that way.
