'Ladies of the Lake' Season 2 Now Streaming on Amazon

Indie Series Award winner Arianne Zucker is front and center in the second season of Ladies of the Lake, now streaming on Amazon, and the digital drama is more enthralling than ever.

Jessica Morris and Marie Wilson return as Crystal Amhurst and Morgan Firestone, the remaining Ladies of the Lake who are facing the consequences of getting away with murder. Both characters are more relatable in the new episodes. Zucker's Lisa Roth (Clara in Season 1) has infiltrated the group and is now living with Crystal. Her outstanding performance turns the hellbent on revenge guest-starring role into a strong but sympathetic leading lady. Joining the fun are General Hospital's Kathleen Gati as Crystal's mother, Margaret Cranston; GH's Marc Anthony Samuel as Clara's husband, Teddy DuPree; and Days of our Lives' Robert Scott Wilson as Clara's step-brother, Ethan Wyatt. Gati brings the comedy, while Samuel and Wilson add the sexy and intensity to the mix. Jillian Clare and Amanda Corday are back as Cassidy Montgomery and Maddie Firestone.

Guest stars Patrika Darbo, Eric Martsolf, Melissa Archer and Nadia Bjorlin are all hilarious.

Overall, the story works better this time around, and the show is edge-of your-seat fascinating throughout. If you liked Season 1, you will love Season 2.

Be sure to check out Season 2 of Ladies of the Lake: Return to Avalon on Amazon now (free for AmazonPrime members).

John Stamos 'General Hospital' Inspired Drama Lands at Amazon

Amazon has landed for development a drama series project from John Stamos and producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron (Hairspray Live), which chronicles the fame and excess of daytime soaps in the 1980s. Universal TV, where Zadan and Meron are under a deal for series and live events, is the studio.

The untitled drama, originally set up at Uni TV a year ago, is inspired by the experiences of Stamos, whose acting career was launched in 1982 when, at the age of 18, he landed the role of Blackie Parrish on the ABC daytime drama General Hospital.

Written by Adam Stein (Damages), the drama is described as "Boogie Nights in the soap world." It will explore the colorful and volatile world of daytime drama as it tracks the journey of an 18-year-old Orange County kid suddenly thrust into the limelight of Los Angeles in the early 80s, when he is anointed the next big thing on America's most popular soap.

Stamos executive produces alongside Stein, Zadan and Meron, while Zadan/Meron Prods.' Mark Nicholson will co-executive produce.

When the show was first announced, fans noticed the idea sounded similar to the one being pitched by longtime GH star Kimberly McCullough (Robin Scorpio Drake). Watch her Sundance pitch for Heyday below.

'Guiding Light' Star Sonia Satra Plays Gloria Steinem in 'American Playboy: The Hugh Hefner Story'

Sonia Satra plays Gloria Steinem in the 2017 miniseries American Playboy:
The Hugh Hefner Story, now available on Amazon Prime.
American Playboy: The Hugh Hefner Story premiered on Amazon Prime Video in April. The series tells the story of Playboy magazine's charismatic founder, Hugh Hefner, who set out to disrupt the status quo and created one of the most recognizable brands in history. Guiding Light alum Sonia Satra plays a familiar face from then and now.

The docuseries combines archival footage, pulling from thousands of hours from Hefner's personal archives; interviews with notable figures including Jesse Jackson, Gene Simmons and Bill Maher; and cinematic reenactments.

Satra, who starred as Lucy Cooper on Guiding Light and played Barbara Graham in One Life to Live, can be seen in a guest-starring role of Gloria Steinem.

Produced by the Emmy Award-winning Stephen David Entertainment and Alta Loma Entertainment, American Playboy begins in post-war America and takes us through the launch of Playboy magazine in 1953 and the next six decades of Hefner's life and career. As he built his empire, Hefner became both a social justice advocate and a target of the conservative movement while becoming an outspoken defender of civil rights, freedom of speech, gay rights and, of course, sexual freedom.

The series was the result of unprecedented access to thousands of hours of never-before-seen footage from both Hefner's and the Playboy archives and Hefner's personal scrapbooks, which number more than 2,900 and constitute a Guinness World Record. The 90-year-old Hefner was deeply involved in the development and production of American Playboy, imbuing the series with rich first-person accounts and never-before-told stories.
