10th Anniversary of 9/11 Attacks: Soap Stars Remember On Twitter

From across America and around the world, Twitter posts are just one of the many ways soap personalities are marking the decade since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. In contemplating the many new ways we have to relate and interact as a community (Twitter, as well as Youtube and Facebook, did not exist in 2001), we discover how long it's really been. But for many of us, sometimes, it still feels like just yesterday.

Following a welcome by Paul Libin, Chairman of The Broadway League, and others, NYPD Officer Daniel Rodriguez inspired the crowd with an operatic performance of Irving Berlin's classic, "God Bless America," as thousands of tourists, dozens of Broadway stars, and four honored members of the New York City Fire Department listened.

A Memorable TV Fireman Remembers 9/11: Nelson Aspen Talks With Eddie Cibrian

A Memorable TV Fireman Remembers 9/11
By Nelson Aspen

I had the chance to catch up with Eddie Cibrian (ex-Sunset Beach, Young and the Restless) in advance of the 10 year anniversary of 9-11. I first interviewed him in NYC years ago when he was playing fireman Jimmy Doherty on the popular TV series THIRD WATCH. I assumed that his Manhattan residency, combined with portraying one of the city's first responders and learning so much about the special qualities it takes to hold such a job, would give him an interesting perspective on the emotional milestone.

NEWS ROUNDUP: Mexican soap takes close look at 9/11, The return of Chris Robinson, Daytime Ratings

Mexican soap opera THE EIGHTH COMMANDMENT takes close look at 9/11
On the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, Isabel Sanmillan is taking part in a meeting in one of the twin towers of the World Trade Center. Thousands of miles away in Mexico, her family watches on television as the plane crashes. They fear their loved one has perished in New York.

A decade later, Sanmillan finds herself back in Mexico, thanks to the efforts of her daughter Camila in finding her. The woman doesn't remember who she once was, a photographer and the founder of a newspaper. Her employees have a hard time, as well, believing that this woman who has unexpectedly returned owns their company.
