Two-Hour Episodes of MARIDO EN ALQUILER Starting Monday, October 21 on Telemundo

Starting Monday, October 21 at 8 p.m. ET, Telemundo will air two-hour episodes of MARIDO EN ALQUILER, a gripping tale full of romance, love, humor, betrayal and twists of fate.

Starring Sonya Smith, Juan Soler, Maritza Rodriguez and a stellar performance by Miguel Varoni, MARIDO EN ALQUILER is the story of Griselda (Sonya Smith), a humble, courageous woman with a good heart who wins the lottery after struggling to support her three children with her work as a handyman. By chance she meets Reinaldo (Juan Soler), an acclaimed but modest chef who is enchanted by her integrity. Reinaldo’s jealous wife, Teresa Cristina (Maritza Rodriguez), a vain and elegant woman from a rich family, will stop at nothing to save her marriage and sets out to make life impossible for Griselda.

Max Adler & Judith Chapman Shooting Indie Film 'Saugatuck Cures' in Western Michigan

Production has kicked off on indie film Saugatuck Cures, starring Max Adler (Dave, GLEE; Tank, SWITCHED AT BIRTH) and Judith Chapman (Gloria, THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS).

Saugatuck Cures is a comedy about a widowed bed and breakfast owner, Maggie Callaghan (Chapman), living in Saugatuck dealing with a second round of cancer. When she can't afford treatment, Maggie's gay son Drew (Adler) becomes determined to raise money for her treatment, yet doesn't have the slightest idea of how to do it.

On this date in...

1950: HAWKINS FALLS, one of network television's first successful soap operas, aired for the final time in primetime. The show premiered on NBC in June 1950 as an hour-long weekly primetime drama in a summer replacement slot but was cut back to a half-hour in August until the end of its run. HAWKINS FALLS returned to the air in April 1951 as a fifteen-minute weekday soap for NBC.

1953: Daytime soap opera VALIANT LADY premiered on CBS-TV. The series was created by Adrian Spies and written by Charles Elwyn. Helen Emerson was the central character during the show's four year run and was played by two actresses along the way, Nancy Coleman and Flora Campbell. AS THE WORLD TURNS legend Helen Wagner played Jane Lyman for a year.

DAYTIME RATINGS: THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS Up, GENERAL HOSPITAL Tops Women 18-34

The daytime Nielsen ratings are in for the week of September 30-October 4, 2013. Y&R was up in total viewers and women 18-49 and 18-34. GENERAL HOSPITAL remained #1 with 263,000 female viewers 18-34.

1932: General Mills-sponsored BETTY AND BOB debuted on NBC Blue radio. It was the first daytime show to be produced by Frank Hummert and Anne Ashenhurst. Married in 1935, the Hummerts became known as the "King & Queen of Soaps". BETTY AND BOB was the first true network soap opera on the air, using melodrama at its core.

1972: Victoria Thompson debuted as Janice Frame on ANOTHER WORLD.

1975: On ONE LIFE TO LIVE, Tony Lord (George Reinholt) got reacquainted with his ex-girlfriend and new editor of The Banner, as Pat Ashley. Pat was played by Jacqueline Courtney, who had departed ANOTHER WORLD in July after playing Alice Matthews for 11 years. Reinholt played Steve Frame on ANOTHER WORLD for seven years, and his pairing with Courtney as Steve and Alice was one of the most popular in soap opera history.

DAYTIME RATINGS: GENERAL HOSPITAL Tops Women 18-34 Demo For 6th Consecutive Week (Updated)

GENERAL HOSPITAL spiked to another 5-month high in Total Viewers for the week of September 23-27, 2013, and ranked as Daytime's #1 program for the 6th consecutive week in Women 18-34. Check out what ABC had to say about their daytime lineup below:

GENERAL HOSPITAL: (2:00 – 3:00 p.m.)

Fresh off its best season in 5 years, this week GENERAL HOSPITAL surged to a 5-month high in Total Viewers (2.80 million) – since week of 4/8/13 – posting double digit increases over the year ago week across all core categories.

Notably, GENERAL HOSPITAL ranked as the #1 program in daytime for the 6th consecutive week in Women 18-34 (262,000/0.8 rating), and placed a solid #2 in Women 18-49 (730,000/1.1 rating) and Women 25-54 (954,000/1.6 rating).

1967: On DARK SHADOWS, Barnabas (Jonathan Frid) took Burke and Dr. Woodard down into the basement but there was no coffin to be found.

1976: On MARY HARTMAN, MARY HARTMAN, Mary (Louise Lasser) recuperated at Fernwood Psychiatric Hospital after her nervous breakdown during her guest appearance on "The David Susskind Show." Mary received flowers from Susskind, and praise for pioneering new developments in nationally televised dementia. Meanwhile, Charlie recuperated from his operation after a recent shooting, and Loretta made an eerie discovery about one of his wounds. Later, Mary tried to pass herself off as a sane person by watching television, but she made an awesome, empowering discovery about the psychiatric ward's television set instead.

1979: On AS THE WORLD TURNS, despite Tom's (Tom Tammi) objections, Lisa (Eileen Fulton) left Oakdale with Bennett Hadley (Doug Higgins).

CBS Daytime Posts Year-To-Year-Premiere Week Growth - All Shows Post Gains

CBS's top-rated daytime lineup posted year-to-year premiere week growth in viewers and women 25-54, as all of the Network's daytime programs notched increases, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending September 27.
