1909: Jim Davis was born. He is best known for his final role as Jock Ewing in the original DALLAS. Davis died in 1981 at age 71.
1946: Prolific radio soap opera writer Elaine Sterne Carrington (PEPPER YOUNG'S FAMILY; ROSEMARY) was featured in TIME magazine.
1950: Future Daytime Emmy winner Benjamin Hendrickson was born. He is best known to soap fans for his long-running role as Hal Munson in AS THE WORLD TURNS but also starred in TEXAS, ANOTHER WORLD and GUIDING LIGHT. Hendrickson died in 2006 at age 55.
1986: Ted Knight, who made an early appearance in DAYS OF OUR LIVES as George Becker, died after a battle with cancer at age 62. He was best known for roles in THE MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW and TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT.
1991: On THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, Brad invited Traci to dinner.
1991: On THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL, Brooke assured Eric, her lover at the time, that his extra time spent with Stephanie didn't bother her.
1994: On DAYS OF OUR LIVES, Sami and Carrie were tied up.
1996: 7TH HEAVEN premiered on The WB.
2008: On GENERAL HOSPITAL: NIGHT SHIFT, a quarantined couple made Patrick view Robin's HIV status in a new light.
2010: John Callahan aired for the final time as Dr. Richard Baker in DAYS OF OUR LIVES.

Wow, I always thought Jim Davis was old, (he looked 80ish) now Linda looks great at 71, and JR is 81.
