GENERAL HOSPITAL Emmy nominee Lexi Ainsworth, who has played Kristina on the soap since June 2009, tweeted on Friday night that she had taped her last episode on Thursday."Sorry it seems that I wasn't responding I was asked by Jill and again by Mitch the publicist not to say anything," Ainsworth said on Twitter, "but since it appears to be officially out there I will confirm I shot my last episode at GH yesterday."
Ainsworth is thankful for her time with the show.
"It's been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life," she said, "and I wouldn't trade one second of it even the not so great parts for all that I've learned to prepare me for the next phase of my career."
She also thanked her fans.
"I want to THANK each one of you from the bottom of my heart! Soap fans are the best and I'm so glad to have been part of it's legacy."

ReplyDeleteHow you let a talent like this go is unexplainable. This further proves the misdirection of the show along with being very shortsighted in what they should be doing on the show.

Lexi was my only reason for watching General Hospital. Looks like I'm officially done with Soaps now. It really is a shame that people hate on Lexi. She is a wonderful person and I wish her only the best in her future endeavors. GH made a huge mistake letting her go and all the haters out there can't stop talent like Lexi's from shining!

ReplyDeleteshe wasnt that great of an actress, i think it was a good move as they need a more mature looking woman to play the role. maybe an ethan-xtina hook up. would just be creepy to have the old xtina kiss ethan ewe! she is young she'll find another job. wow GH has been doing a lot of recasting/fill-ins lately that is not good.
ReplyDeleteOMG!! Thank God, I could not stand her!! She was a dead end to the plot, and quite frankly her acting is HORRIBLE!! I dont know why all of you are saying she was good for the show, she was so annoying! THANK YOU GENERAL HOSPITAL FOR GETTING RID OF HER!!! My prayers have come true.

ReplyDeleteShe's not a good actress? Are you people nuts? Lexi is a wonderfully talented actress! I love her chemistry with Nathan Parsons (Ethan). I hear the plan is to "age" Kristina so she can hook up with Ethan. I think that's a big mistake! The only reason I am behind the Ethan/Krissy relationship is because of the chemistry that Nathan and Lexi have. I think it's a shame that Lexi is basically being fired because she looks like a normal 19 year old teenage girl.
ReplyDeleteTo the person who addressed her as having worm eyebrows. That is your opinion and says nothing about the quality of her acting which was validated by her emmy nomination. She is the sweetest person on twitter and I have never her say anything that would justify your saying what you did about her person.
ReplyDeleteI really liked Lexi playing Kristina and I liked the Ethan-Kristina flirtation that was going on. I've watched soaps for 30 years now and I know a good casting when I see it and I thought she was great. If you don't have anything nice to say about someone you haters out there then it's time to get a life and get off the computer, start dealing with real people again and learn how to be nice to people.

ReplyDeleteI think the chemistry between her and "Ethan" was great. She is 19 yrs old and looks it. I don't want to see a twenty something playing a teenager. The whole reason the story line worked so well with her and Ethan was because she looks so young. I wish her a great future, Sorry to see her go.
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe you let Lexi go!! She is one of the best little actresses I have seen in a long time and her scenes were terrific! The fact that the writing of her recent Ethan/Lexi storyline was getting old is not her fault. GH is letting a lot of my favorites go and the writing is terrible now...all anybody does is sit and rehash the same subjects (especiaally Sonny and new Kate-another bad decision)..you are killing the show! Wakeup please before it is too late! ( I am a watcher of 40 years and losing interest rapidly now)
ReplyDeleteGH is really making bad decisions now. Kristina was lovely young woman - looking similar to Alexis and Sami. The Robin HIV tainted blood story is a true testament to how badly the show is going. I watched Robin grow up on screen and have seen her at many of the LA AIDS Walks.
